You know, guys, I have noticed something in the past two weeks of being in the BPA, but that is just a time stamp, since I've seen it happen in all the other places I've operated in as well, with Omicron Gamma, Omega-5, Omega-41, Tau-37, and Omicron Alpha as exceptions.
What happened to our respect for the other player? What happened to doing to others as you would have them do to you?
Over the past couple of days I have encountered what seems to be a complete disregard for the fact that we're all people here. Loadouts with three or more missiles, people arguing out of character before replying in character, people firing without a word on a Constable because she asked you to stop, then arguing out of roleplay later when she states in roleplay that she would file charges against you.
Is there a time when people can remember that we're all here to have fun?

I don't think so. What reason could someone have for running such a projectile besides to allow themselves an advantage whilst killing other players? Now, I left the option open because I don't want to pinpoint anyone, but needless to say, I've seen five of these loadouts in the past week. Honestly, would someone ever stop to think that the person on the other end would feel rather bitter about losing to that. Would you want it to happen to you? I don't think you would...
What is it that makes anyone here think that they should just do something because they can? Would you like someone to do something to you because they can? I don't like to think so....
It almost reminds me of two 12-year-olds walking down a street, seeing a young child with a bag of candy, at which point they say to each other: "Hey, he's got candy, lets take it! :laugh:"
What about in Roleplay? Whatever happened to the time when someone would talk back to someone preaching? Whatever happened to when people didn't just look around for someone to fight, and simply RP in order to justify PvP? Whatever happened to thinking about what the other person might think about his character?
Why is it that I can't go outside without someone going out of character to gripe about what I'm doing?

How do you think I feel when someone breaks roleplay to say that? Maybe we should think about what that other person might be thinking before we break roleplay to argue that we're more right about someone else's roleplay. Maybe we should look into another person's roleplay before breaking roleplay to complain and argue? Maybe we should think about the person on the other end of the wire, and recognize that it is a person, just like us. Of course, I can't prove if you're human or not, that's on your end....

Can we, maybe, just trust other players and keep doing what we want to do, and be flexible with each other? Maybe even considerate? You know, like you'd be in real life (I hope).
Anyway, that's my rant for the month. I doubt it'll get any attention, but, I do feel as if we're sliding into being jerks again....

Whenever I'm a non-vanilla ship against a vanilla, I don't use any explosives other than nuke mines, and I use those only when I'm losing pretty badly. Hopefully in 4.85 this won't be necessary as it'll do the same damage to everyone.. But these pvp whore setups are growing very thin on my nerves.. As is all the rather **** attitude of players in-game. People bragging endlessly in system when they beat people, then saying others cheated or swear at you in some manner when they lose. No more RP than 'Pirate, engaging.' Or those who want to not get sanctioned 'Run pirate, I'm going to kill you!'
Generally made from capital ships or BHG GSs while I'm flying about by myself in a Sabre, BD HF, or RedCat.
I agree with you there. And to be honest I do like to always have a nuke mine and mini razor on me, but besides those I always try to get weapons that would fit that character's faction.
And for the pvp vs rp, I love to get into PvP I can't deny that, but I always try to input RP before my attacks, so its just not out of the blue.

I go about populated systems talking of the SCRA, why we are there, what were doing, anyone interested in joining our cause, mocking Alliancers, and most people just say either
Even if you don't know what we are, try and talk a bit people, its horrible just mouthing off to silent traders, even just a bit of communication would be nice.
and a bit of forum reading so i don't need to explain SCRA one million times over ingame.
as for pvp loadouts, while there isnt anything explicitly wrong with them........
but as a fighter pilot, to all those pvp-load-out-users, find a bridge and swan dive off lol

Personally ... I'm tired of seeing //GF in system chat when people battle to the death.
And it gets old when people just HAVE to get their kill when the guy they're attacking says "I give up" or "please don't kill me ... please!" The only reason for a fight to the death is that the guy needs to brag about it and post the explosion shot on his faction's message dump ... thus gaining points toward a faction promotion ... and so he can get a step closer to getting permission to buy that capship he always wanted.
There is no such thing as mercy here. I've tried to get folks to role play mercy. Many times I've come across a VHF in my gunboat and I just sit there speaking with them. All the while this guy's calling in his backup. He does nothing until his support arrives. Why can't he just role play with me and we part company in peace? I coulda destroyed his ship right there. I didn't have to wait for his support to get there. Even when I'm attacked by a less capable vessel ... I plead not to be shot at ... or I'll wait for his friends to get there and plead for them to allow me to go about my own business. Now I've gotta give LN some credit here. There are 2 or 3 in Liberty now that will show mercy ... but then there are the new guys that get overzealous and go for the jugular ... even while LN is telling them to back down.

I agree, Lately it seems a huge brand of players lost respect toward others in all domains. Just look at the sanctions for example, some of them were simply submitted by hatred. People in game going oorp and insulting people, etc.
As for the loadout thing, yes, not fun, I know. I've seen worst . . . Two taiidans hanging together with totally opposite armament (One has tizies+SN while the other has Codies+SN+Inferno... See the problem?). They are pretty annoying, OORP(both in chat and ships RP) and disrespectful... sadly.
I too dislike unfair loadouts, but I don't play much.. so in the end, I don't bother much about it.
I myself never use mines... but I love to eat them >.> I once had a missile fighter... but it was too expensive and ineffective
I think I fly in somewhat elitist circles...I choose whom I interact with rather carefully, more or less. I've not had a bad experience since coming back, except for a few pirating disasters. Characters aren't allowed to sit still and talk, anymore. Pirates tend to want you moving along really quickly...
I think the biggest problem is trust. We don't know who we're dealing with, and we don't trust them not to drop us. but, then..don't you want that kill, too?

I would rather give a promo to a member of the LSF for RPing, rather than showing good PVP skills. - I think most factions would do the same

yes... some folks are hard to keep control on. But sometimes, some pirates are so bloody annoying and "bitchy" that in the end, I don't show them mercy, after all they done.
