Well ... I'd say going weeks without good role play says quite a lot. First it tells me that lawful role players are a rarity.
I've met a few seriously willing to role play with me. What's wrong with a pirate moving cargo from base to base? Every now and then I move Pharmaceuticals, Food, Water, etc to various Rogue bases from Junker bases. And in return I bring Scrap Metals, Gold and other items to the Junkers. Perfectly good role play of a humanitarian nature. There are a few really supportive Liberty lawfuls that provide me escort (safe passage) between points to 1) make sure I'm legit and don't cause problems and 2) to make sure I make it to my destination safely.
But interesting things happen when those who can only role play "red is dead" ... one Trader ID'd gent called my interaction with Liberty as OORP BECAUSE Liberty did not destroy me. I've got a Pirate ID with no IFF. So ... I'd classify this Trader ID'd gent as one of those we're talking about here. For a lawful to attack and destroy someone because they've got an offensive ID or IFF is PVP. For a lawful to attack and destroy this same vessel for actually causing problems (pirating, smuggling, whatever) then all is valid. Keep in mind that in most civilized societies ... even the bad guy has rights. If he's being good and staying out of trouble ... why attack? You cannot justify destroying him for what he MIGHT do. If only I had a credit for every time I was destroyed for simply BEING somewhere ... I'd be able to retire all my smugglers.
Liberty is never a fair fight. I try to hold my RBS back from shooting at a loki (or VHF) unless it gets into the 100Meter range, where it becomes OORP NOT to shoot.
If you come into NY, you might see him. I'm all about RP(and i got the macro's to prove it)
got another character, but waitin till .85 to see if this one ship is gonna be super sweet, as some of my friends are tellin me(yes, he's gonna be rp'd as a paddy wagon)
But this is the problem with FL. the peeps here have taken a game and made it totally better than what the origional was(GJ guys) but there are some things that cannot be changed(from my understanding) one of those things is RP enforcement. I can't make a human player do what i want, i can only hope he'll RP with me before i have to turn on my guns. but most times i get 2 GB's coming outta the tradelanes with guns a blazing(Hold the line is IFF'd and ID'd as liberty police)
best policy for ya mate. if you died, private convo them and ask all nice like(trust me, i know it's hard as hell) if they wouldn't mind throwin out some text or macro's before they attack ya. that works for me sometimes.

You're supplying their sworn enemies. Enemies that, when supplied, attack and kill naval officers, police officers, not to mention innocent civilians.
I see it completely differently, and for that fact alone, you are incorrect. Everyone sees RP in different ways, so calling a lawful attacking an unlawful transport ooRP might be your personal opinion, but it isn't true for all.
If you say otherwise, that's dictating others' RP, which I find in abhorrently bad taste.
There are bad players on both sides of the fence. Period. You can't fight that, it's true.
Lets face it, NY has more unlawfuls than anywhere else because people get bored as a unlawful because there isn't a lot of people in other systems. In one night I counted the SCRA, Mollies, Xenos, Rogues, Outcasts, RHA, Harvesters, and Corsairs all in system. Is it OORP? Yup, some of these guys should be fighting each other, not ganging up on the lawfuls. Lawfuls get tired of getting gang raped and start to go nuts. Unlawfuls get tired of the lawfuls and go gang raping the lawfuls. It's a never ending cycle. It's why NY is a cesspool that it is. So in the end, some RP as little as possible.
Personally, I think that before you are allowed to play as a unlawful, you should have to play as a LPI for a week. Patriot LF and loadout. Come in to my world and see it from the other end.
Now as far as RPing, I see a lot of it. Obviously you haven't RP' d with the right people. Knowing who is the right people is done by learning.

I remember all those lovely words you kept saying to us; how you loved our empathy and kindness we had toward you. All this respect you had for us, all those positives feelings. Yet again, you are proving how much you love us, by saying good things, in a polite way. It makes all of us feel so warn inside and we get very happy about this. In fact, it makes our day. When you had to say something about us, you always preferred to say it publicly, to everyone. So they may know how much you loved us, as well as how you are attach to Liberty. Don't change, we love you like that.
My outcast character only really "does his stuff" in Liberty and to be honest, the most RP I've seen out of Liberty lawfuls is them telling each other where I am (if they're not in a group).
I'm probably shoot on sight because I'm in a Destroyer, but even when I was in a Sabre, I'd sometimes be attacked without so much as a "Die, scum!".
I have seen a lot of lawfuls RP quite well though, mainly BAF and KNF (especially when they're fighting each other).

And some lawfuls need to try flying an unarmored Greyhound with Sammaels for a week. That's a standard LR recruit loadout, and I had it for 18 hours of flight time. Maybe then they'd understand the true meaning of capwhoring.
Honestly I think some of the lawfuls think anyone who plays an unlawful is a bad person in RL, and that they're heroes for killing us and keeping Sirius safe.
Last night some lawful fellow shield camping in his Eagle had the nerve to have a go at me because I fled from a fight due to my lag. He said I had no RP, despite the fact he engaged without speaking a word, and assumed all the remarks me and the other rogue I was with were oorp, even though they were completely in RP and the // was never used. >_>
