Hello I dont want to be a pest, so take your time.
I was taking off with a cargo at Mainz Storage Facility in Frankfurt and 2 out of the 3 times it flies me into the planet next to this station... Lets just say I lost a small fortune.
Anyways it stays in cut scene too long and by time it gets out of it you hit the planet and die. Just something I thought you guys might want to know. If not then htats fine too.
Outcasts and Corsairs are listed as the IMG's enemies, and you get missions against both of them and rep goes up fine. However, if you kill corsairs, your rep witht he IMG goes down slightly. Outcast bit is fine as far as i know.
I have a few problems and suggestions that seem to be apparent.
A) Nomad Fighter needs HEAVY FIGHTER SHIELD. MINE DROPPER COUNTERMEASURES.
Why? Because anyone with Sunslayers can kill it in... Seconds. Shield strip it, and no CM to be able to dodge. Mine because when you fight a Viper, you can't get behind or even have it in front of you for more than a half a second.
B) Viper needs nerfing. Too fast, waaay too fast.
C) Taiidian Bomber: Needs nerfing badly. Either remove one torp mount, or a lot of agility reduction so it is like a BOMBER not a FIGHTER.
So fast, my Nomad Fighter couldn't hit it unless it say still.
D) Manta still WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO FAST.
E) Torpedoes should no longer be allowed in fighter vs. fighter combat. I don't think you should have a weapon that can kill some fighters in one hit on your ship. Like, the Sunslayer.
Virus, the sunslayer can easily be dodged by practice. (Maybe its just a result of surviving Angel's "random missile treatments.")
The sso| I used it against could do it, taking at least 30 torps and 2 lives of my own to get them both.
The Torpedo isn't very agile or fast. You simply have to break away before passing in head to head with someone. If you have no shield, and they do, don't head to head them to the last second. Break off. This is simply another form of fighting. Should we make lasers slower because they can hit us now? Geez, we can't have fighter combats be the same everytime. We need diversity, and torpedoes are not overpowered or too hard to dodge.
Mabey the Viper and the Manta need nerfing, but one thing Virus.
The Viper is very hard to hit, turns MUCH faster than the Manta and is gernerally a much better ship. As Dab said on another thread, the Manta has an easy hitbox, because it has the same one as the hammerhead, which the designers made the sur files exactly to the model (no offence to any modders). The Viper has the best maneuvering and "evadablitiy" i think and, if theyre both gonna be nerfed, they cant be standardised. If they are, then all the fighters will be the same, just with different skins (in my view)
Mabey the Manta needs a little nerfing (not just cause im in the sso| that im not totally agreeing with you). Manta is a very good fighter but i've only seen the sso| in them because were BH's. I dont see anyone else in them and i wont if it turns out that the Manta is the best in the next mod. Ill just say get the Ravens talon, its got 8 guns.
The Viper needs alot more nerfing if they are to be nerfed due to the superiority it posseses. I dont like that word though, but i guess if that were to happen mabey i'd have a chance of beating DO in a duel :)
EDIT: why is the IMG ID sold only on Freidstadt, not Falkland aswell ( i thought Falkland was more important)
Dab the sunslayer barely has enough hull damage to destroy a sabre, i took out a fighter with 14,800 armour in one hit.
That is the problem virus was on about.
The taiidan bomber is more agile then a viper, I can hit a viper alot easier then the bomber.
So either it's agility needs to be reduced, along with it's cargo hold, bots and batts being increased or it loses it's second torpedo mount and is reclassified into a VHF.
First, Virus, I agree. Both the Viper & the Manta need to be toned down a bit.

As for the Taiidan bomber, what you viewed as agility was actually me going full-thrust after a pass to get distance while you turned around. This extra distance gave me the ability to turn before you could get back within weapons range.
Torpedo's: Sunslayers n such don't need to be nerfed IMO. and for the Nova's (I killed you with two.) They are a pain to aim versus fighters, I recomend you try them sometime. :)
Well Marauder, projectiles are meant to do alot more damage than their thing says. Take the number of wired hitboxes of ships (fighters usually have about 6-10) and you multiply the damage times that. Because the explosion range reaches them all. When a laser bolt hits, it hits that specific wired hitbox. Explosions do the same effect, but on ALL the hitboxes. So even if the battleships wire-boxed, explosive weapons would still do reduced damage to them, because the boxes are wider apart.
The designers meant to make explosions do that. If a plane is hit by a bullet that does the same damage as a small explosion, the explosion is going to do more overall damage, because there is more surface area getting the damage from the blow. Where a bullet makes a small impact on a specific point.
BTW, agree with both Manta and Viper. Manta doesn't need nerfed much though. Only a little. We need to start injecting hitbox into stats of a ship. Say you have a fighter with a large hitbox, its likely going to have something to counter that lack, such as more armor, and maybe more firepower.
Ok I retract my statement, statisticly the Taiidan *is* (EDIT from more) almost as manuverable than the Viper. It's inertia and drag are alitle better than the Rheinland bomber, but it's steering torque is far too high for a bomber. I'm curious tho cuz it doesn't behave like a viper for me in-game.
@Igiss is there another property on the Taiidan that changes it's manuvering? Like the method used to slow down battleships even though they have torques in the multi-millions?
