I have returned to Sheffield to find the techs finished with my mantas inspection. Am in the process of rearming her for a return to patrols. I would request permission to outfit a bomber to be flown under the name of S/D-Venator for use as an anti capitol platform.

[Incoming Transmission]
[CommID: Jason Rogers, Search and Destroy Agency]
[Target: The Doghouse]

Good day sirs.

I am here to talk to you about the upgrades our very own flying death trap, the Sea Serpent, will be receiving.

Under preliminary tests, I flew the older model in combat, testing it under heavy conditions, and testing both how long it can keep up it's fire, the optimal equipment for it, the speed and strafe ratings of it, as well as what kind of firepower it can keep under.

Our upgraded model, while retaining the old version's armour, has been upgraded, in terms of strafing power, external pressure shifters, producing more turning velocity, allowing us to track our target's better. In light of all this, it's firepower will remain the same, but for the skill of us Bounty Hunters, that is all we need.

All Hunters are urged to practice in this ship, as soon as the upgraded model comes into production, and all old fliers of this ship are asked to adapt to the changes before flying it into combat, as it's upgrades have made flying the ship a whole new boat.

Sorry I meant to get this out yesterday but I was distracted by this fine Shelia with red hair at the military bar here on Norfolk. I took a tour of Bretonia and found that all is quiet here once again. I went poking around looking for some of our usual suspects but those blokes must have moved on. Seems that are never around when I'm in system.
Anyhow Cambridge and New London are nice and quiet. Am going to add O-3 tot he patrol next time out since those fine folks at the BPA are allowing us to collect bounties one system out from house space.

Dane out

Employment Update

TO: All Agents

We now have three new recruits, a Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Behn, and Mr. Klimowsow.

Those of you who are more experienced - and still alive - remember your days as a recruit. Let's not pull too many pranks on these guys. Sending one of them out to put an S/D sign on the back of the Molly Destroyer that occassionally operates in New London may seem like a fun idea at the time - it's really not THAT funny.

Remember that these recruits may only operate in Zone 1, which is inside house space. Remind them about escorting AP Manufacturing ships. While Harvey and Mr. Graves are finishing the negotiations on our contract with Synth Foods for escorting and protecting their ships, keep up the good work on collecting bounties.

Patrol Report

You know how they say one picture says a thousand words?

One less pirate operating in Cambridge...

Later on in the patrol, I ran into a large convoy of ships that were heading for New Berlin. I didn't pay much attention until I saw that there was a member of the [OPG] eyeballing them. I caught him on my scanners at the jump gate between Cambridge and Omega 3. I pursuesd him into Omega 3, and caught up with him further down the trade lanes, chasing after the merchant ships.

We ran into an ion storm during the initial phases of combat, and he fled in the confusion. I returned to Cambridge to have some damage repaired to my bomber caused by the storm.

*** INCOMING TRANSMISSION ***

To: Directors
From: Rookie Cletus Behn
Subject: Readiness report

Sirs, I'm jolly glad to inform you that I have finally received a ship from our production line. I christened it to bear markings S/D-Cletus."Banjo".Behn

Sea Serpent is out-fitted with 2x Adv. Debs, 2xBuckshots, Nuke mine and Train CD. I also received the contract order for Cape Town fighter bay engineers to install Advanced Cargo Scanner, Mark VIII armor and maximum shielding.

I took her to tentative live fire exercises before painting the callsign on her hull and found some troubling matters. The ship handles very well. I'm surprised at it's handling capabilities, but the loadout leaves something to be desired. The loadout has big trouble getting through the shielding of the elite fighters. I think it needs reconfiguration.

I've heard from pilots in Sheffield's bar that mini could solve that problem. I'd have to sacrifice the CD and risk letting my potential quarry to get away, but I see no real alternative. The mine dropping is chancy at best.

Any tried and true configuration from the command how to fit out the Serpent?

Other than that I'm ready and docked at Sheffield.

- Cletus "Banjo" Behn

Subject: Ready for Service!

Message Contents:

Greetings,

I am happy to report that my Hammerhead should be operational shortly, it has been named S/D-"Silent".Mitchell

I have loaded it out with a combination of different types of Bounty Hunter weapons, but i feel it would be best not to list them here, as would be best for security.

I am in need of a shield and an armour upgrade from the bank if able, the class 7 shield that came with the Hammerhead is not what the dealer promised.... but that does not matter. Unfortunately the best shield my ship can equip is a class 9 shield, where is a good place to get a class 9 shield? I am also in need of a Mk VIII armour upgrade if one is available, it would improve my fighting performance significantly.

I hope to meet my fellow Search and Destroy Agency members in space soon.

Mitchell out.

Subject: Greetings and Salutations.

Dear Sirs,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the leader of the White Tigers, a Mercenary Faction based in Cambridge. We are a purely lawful faction, interested in the protection of economic hegemony rather than the collection of bounties, and as such I would like to reassure you all that we will not be competing against each other in hunting such bounties. However, as we regularly fly escort & patrol wings across Sirius, should you or yours require use of our services, please do not hesitate to contact a [WT]-tagged ship. In recognition of your sterling work suppressing pirates across Sirius, we are pleased to announce that we have designated our relationship as 'Esteemed Colleagues', which is to say allies in all but name, and as such, any escort/support work would be at preferential rates.
Should you have any queries, a message via private communications or in our message dump will receive a quick reply.

Yours,

Mudslinger

Sirs,

After a long wait for the starting funds i took it upon myself to buy the ship and outfit it. I am now the proud owner of a Sea Serpent! Some financial aid (2 million credits) was given to me by the armory to upkeep my missiles and mine stock.

I look forward to serving the agency in my new ship

END.

ALL AGENT BRIEFING

Sir Douglas Bader, Assistant Director
Newark Station, New York System

All right, quiet in the back. Yes, that means you, too, Felix.

Gentlemen - and lady, Miss Denver, there is a simple reason I have asked you to attend this meeting today. The state of affairs in Sirius is... No, Agent Starr, not THOSE kinds of affairs, so quit laughing. I'm referring to holidays, politics, combat, and war.

At this particular juncture in the space-time continuim ... that means that this moment in time, Feral... Sirius is devolving into more chaos than it's seen since the Nomad wars. Rheinlan and Liberty seem to be on the brink of going to war - again. Bretonia and Kusari ARE at war. The alien mercenaries have disappeared, leaving their station and sector abandoned. Zoner stations and neutrality are being threatened by violence. I'm taking this time to remind you what we are.

We are not soldiers for the Bretonian - or ANY other government. You all know how difficult that is for some of us to remember, including those of us who've shed blood in the past while wearing the colors of one of those governments.

We are not the Sirius Police Force.

We are not mercenaries.

We are members of the Search / Destroy Agency, the finest bounty hunters in the galaxy. As a corporation, we have contracts to escort ships belonging to AP Manufacturing and Synth Foods. We have authorization to hunt bounties in Liberty space, in Bretonian space, and in Rheinland space.

Each and every one of you flies a ship that, fully equipped, represents an investment of tens of millions of credits and hundreds of man-hours of labor. Add in what your own life is worth to you - or not - and that's still a considerable sum.

With that in mind - remember what your job is. Your job is not to fly halfway across Sirius because there is a report the BAF is being attacked by the SCRA. If you happen to be in New London and you are asked by the BAF, then you are required by Bretonian law to assist them under those circumstances. By the same token, you don't fly halfway across Sirius to help the RM against Corsairs, either. There are no LEGITIMATE bounties on those people at this time in that space.

- It was silent for a moment in the room as Sir Douglas paced back and forth across the front, the only sound the whining of the mechanical joints in his artificial legs. -

This does not mean that there will not be bounties on them in the future. What I want to remind you all is to NOT engage in needless combat. Quite honestly, you all know that none of you are ever actually expected to retire from this company. You wouldn't be doing what you're doing if you didn't all love the edge. I can respect that. I know that feeling myself.

Keep this in mind. When it all comes down to the end of the day - we're not heroes. Heroes get medals presented to them. Heroes get holidays and schools named after them. Heroes die gloriously and valiantly and normally quite stupidly.

We're not heroes - we're hunters. No one is ever going to name a school after Bobafett or Devill.Starr. You're out here to do your job and collect your check - that's all we ask of you. Read the frigging manual, pay attention to the bounty board, keep up on what's current, and don't catch too many social diseases. Or at least just non-communicable ones.

Feral, that means ones that you can't spread just by shaking hands or drinking from the same beer bottle.

Go out there, and while it's not always possible to be safe while you're doing your job - do it smart, don't do it stupid. Remember - you may not have anyone else, but you're still a member of THIS family, the S/D, and we as a guild take care of our own. While you've been here in this meeting, your holiday bonus checks have all been uploaded to your accounts, and the caterers have set everything up in the room next door for the comapny meal. I wish ....

Hell, I wish it was a happier time in the galaxy, and all we had to do was just sit back and drink and shoot the crap. It's not. But we can be sure of one thing - when you look in the mirror at the end of the day, if you can honestly say that you did your best, then you've earned the right to wear those badges on your shoulders, and you can say that you've served with the best pilots in the galaxy. And that's a pretty damn good feeling to have. I'm proud of all of you. Keep up the good work, and go get something to eat and drink - it's time to unwind for a little while.

- It was a subdued, yet proud group of pilots that left the room.

End Transmission
