Things don't fix themselves overnight, Tenacity. You need to cool down and let things play out. There are two [basic] different ways the Order can be construed. They can war Liberty, or they cannot. I understand you aren't ruling either out (I meant "had a cease-fire" actually), but you are still telling people to stay out of a system that differing opinion says can be operated in.
Bs was sanctioned for killing someone because he did not follow their RP. I'm not bringing this back up, you are. They were not sanctioned for being ooRP, they were sanctioned for forcing their RP. Most ooRP scenarios are obvious, you do not need a clear cut readout to show this. If there is a clear cut readout, awesome. But Freelancer and Discovery is a massive thing, it takes time to deal with these things, and as said, differing opinions make that even more difficult.
You are raving about how we need to be spoon fed the canon, and while I think it's a bit over the top, it's not a bad idea. That said, it isn't going to happen anytime soon. Until then, with the Order (lets keep it on topic, please), Bs can do it their way, others can do it theirs, as long as it's within server rule. I know it isn't the optimum scenario, but that's all we can have right now.

They also dont fix themselves when everyone sits around on their asses doing nothing.

No, they were sanctioned for dealing with a troublesome member of the community. We tried to deal with THC on the forums, and he spouted back at us with OOC chat in an RP post, and the basic gist of his response was "screw you guys, I do what I want."
When talking to him failed, players took action in game, and the admins defended that guy by sanctioning the wrong side.
Quote:So you're not trying to control anyone, but you would ask that I not go any further than Alaska.
Ask with your guns I mean.
Just to make sure I'm grokking your logic soup.
Well, guns... fists... electric chair... the brig... pick one. This is a military faction with a military command structure, rogue captains in the US navy who go ballistic on other countries against orders arent simply slapped on the wrist and told to play nice.
He is a problem player because he attacks the most active system with the most active player faction, with a battleship. His RP is lacking. Is he sanctionable?
No.
We don't need server police in the form of a faction or anything else. The sanction was just, but has little to do with this topic.
The admins do their job, the player factions are allowed to play how they want, the indies are allowed to play how they want, we are stuck with a lacking canon.
Play how you are playing, just don't force anything, and I mean anything, on anyone, and I mean anyone. If they do wrong enough, they are sanctioned.
Hopefully Igiss and the admin team will see this issue and think about cutting canon out. Until then, you can still play how you want.
Take a breather, and wait for what the boys behind the scenes say about all this.
Anyone else notice that the order doesn't actually fight with the navy in alaska? and really only fight in Minor (in a defensive role?)
That is cannon. The order does not go on major offensive actions against civies and un infected... I don't get why this is a problem for people to realize... =/ didn't everyone play the SP?
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust

I guess we're all lucky that the Bs| didn't think you were out of line then. I don't think the forums could handle the amount of complaining spam in that case.
Right, so that Wolf guy comes back because his faction are forcing rules on people who aren't breaking the rules as they stand and getting themselves sanctioned by forcing said people, and now he and this new little gang do the exact same thing.
You know, i tried to be silent about the "Naval Courtmartial" thing, but I can't anymore...
There are four branches of the US military. The one that is seen as the strongest on an individual basis praises personal inititive. having served in said branch, I can say with over 100% certainty that the Bs| and these order setups, while based around a military structre, are not based around a structure that would be successful to achiving what it is doing. That isn't to say it wouldn't be based around a military structure, but it IS to say that any military structure that doesn't reward personal inititive would not be successful in the way that the Order is successful. So don't pull the "Navy Courtmartial" card out, because it doesn't apply... The Order wouldn't work around a navy structure, and the structure that it would work around placed in the order's situation would certainly allow for plenty of rogue elements.
Because people still have things to say, unfortunately for you discussion does not end when you decide the matter is resolved.
Community discussion the heart of contemporary resolution of problems in Discovery, and thats exactly what we plan on doing. Discussing matters of importance.
