I already explainedt his to you, apparently your ears werent open - -I- went after the LSF player, the other order members in the group went after the keeper.
There's no reason whatsoever to send an entire ****ing battlegroup after a single keeper and let a murdering LSF get away when you can split forces and go after both. It's your own problem that you refused to join the group and hear what was being said in private.
Oh, and just so you can see some of what is being said in the background, this is a cut from a conversation I just had with swiss on xfire:
Bs|SwissScorch: and out of everyone he doesn't get that this whole council thing isn't bs| v. indie Bs|SwissScorch: yeah lol Bs|SwissScorch: and 6 members is more than enough Bs|SwissScorch: any more is just stupid Tenacity: i dunno Tenacity: i think we should go with 9, to get more varied views, because right now everyone seems to think that we're only choosing bs lapdogs Bs|SwissScorch: we're not Bs|SwissScorch: we're choosing the most qualified people Tenacity: we need to have at least one person in the council who has disagreed with us on this whole thing Bs|SwissScorch: well the council is just for people who choose to follow it Tenacity: thats the only way anyone is going to respect it Bs|SwissScorch: maybe Bs|SwissScorch: 7 tops then, any more and I'm going to freak Tenacity: so... Bs|SwissScorch: and one of those 7 should be head Bs|SwissScorch: in case of ties Tenacity: there should be no head Tenacity: equal power amongs all 7 Bs|SwissScorch: hmm Tenacity: maybe ryoken Tenacity: this whole thing is going to be pointless if we cant get people to follow it Bs|SwissScorch: hmm Bs|SwissScorch: bigfatty then Bs|SwissScorch: I'm talking with him and he's changing his rp Bs|SwissScorch: I'm helping him write something up Bs|SwissScorch: but I do think one of those 7 should be head Bs|SwissScorch: we could follow the swiss government:) Bs|SwissScorch: 7 people on the federal council, and then one of those is the federal president Bs|SwissScorch: also Bs|SwissScorch: Bs| owns omi 100 and controls omi minor, which is approved by the admins, so we do kinda hold a bit more power over those systems, especially omi 100 right off the bat Tenacity: no head, we dont want the impression that any one member has any more power than the rest Tenacity: its a voting group, nothing more Tenacity: if we have 7, there will never be a tie Bs|SwissScorch: well then who leads the order? Bs|SwissScorch: yeah Tenacity: the council leads the order Tenacity: we dont need one figurehead Bs|SwissScorch: hmm Tenacity: sorry but even i have some morals to hold =P Bs|SwissScorch: well it used to be the 4 Bs| admirals lead the order, so we can't just make all 7 people admirals now Bs|SwissScorch: yeah Tenacity: nothing saying they need to be admirals Tenacity: aki wont be an admiral, neither will stew or the 42nd leader
I'm trying to do whats best for everyone here, and like I said I dont want the council having any direct control over players - I think it should simply be a group that decides political/diplomatic matters when they arise, or helps plan/lead events for the order. The admins are doing their own thing about capship limitation, we're staying out of that now.
Yes, if you think I'm pushing to have people follow the council's decisions, you're right - is that a powergrab? I dont think so. I only have one vote of 7 (or possibly 9, we havent decided yet) on the council, and all it really takes is one person opposing that vote to overrule me. You can also see from the cut above that I'm trying to refrain from having any one person given any kind of 'leadership' role either in the council or over the order as a whole, this is a voting matter not something one person should decide.
There's a dozen conversations a day like the one above between myself, wolfpack, swiss, and several of the order indies like rouge and fletcher. Maybe that will help you lay off a little and realize I'm not trying to shove anyone around here.
Tenacity, the point is that the members are chosen by the Bs| it seems, not the Order as a whole. The fact you have said that some simply won't be chosen, even if the whole Order independant community say they want them.

well thats something i have no power over, they're running this, not me. I suggested ryoken be on the council since he has quite loudly disagreed with things happening lately, swiss suggested THC (whom I disagree with, to be honest).
The decisions arent being made lightly, and i'm struggling -agaisnt- the Bs admirals (and wolfpack) when it comes to who gets put on the council in the first place, because I want to have people with opposing views on it who can give a good debate. Without debate from different points of view, decisions are made too quickly and without enough thought on the matter. With debate, it may take longer to settle on a course of action, but it's generally been looked at from every possible point of view - and that, in the end, is better for everyone.
Tenacity and I have been talking, and we came up with the following points. This happened during that convo he posted above.
- Bs| will act as the Order guard and the main Order fleet. Only Bs| will have Admirals and they will act as Order Admirals as well. This basically follows Bs| ranks and the admirals are basically the ones we have now.
Bs| will have 3 members on the council due to it's large size within the Order
- the 122nd led by stewcool will be what it is now, like a special ops force. Stewcool as the leader will have a seat on the council
- BigFatty is re-doing the THC thing, I'm helping him write something up, and he is doing something similar to stew. rp'ing an entire strike force, however it will be concentrated on the front with liberty. Mainly fighting in alaska etc. BigFatty will therefor as leader of this have a seat on the council.
- Tenacity's group will be a research wing sort of thing, he has actual players helping him in this and Tenacity will also have a seat on the council
- the 42| is a recon division, it's leader will also have a seat on the council.
That's 7 council members. We are thinking about adding 2 more.
One of these could be Eternal (Au'Rora), who as shown determination and good rp withing the order.
The 9th and last member is still up for discussion, any suggestions are welcome.
But can we have a general consensus with the above statements about forces (fleets) and representation on the council?
just to note, the last two spots are up for debate, eternal isnt around very often and we want -active- players on the council so that we can have a full attendance every time something needs to be voted on, otherwise theres a chance of having an even number of players and ending up in a tie, which is a mess for everyone. We also want to be able to get the most input possible before making any decisions, so the more the merrier.
Now, here's where you get to nominate whoever you want to take those last two seats (unless eternal starts showing up more often, in which case it will be one seat). Decide who you think would be best for those spots, and we'll create a poll post so that everyone can decide between them.
EDIT:
oh, just to note, the last (one, or two depending) spots on the council will be the independent's say in what goes on in the order.
As swiss explained, we're partitioning the order into about 6 different areas:
-Black squadron serves as the order guard forces and order admiralty
-Stewcool's 122nd is an order guard special ops group (task force for stew's own RP)
-The 42nd is the order's recon and espionage group, as suggested by their unofficial faction proposal
-THC's group will be an anti-liberty battlegroup, and will hold the order's front in alaska against liberty forces so the rest of us can focus on the bhg and aliens.
-My group (unofficial, of course) is dedicated to research and spec ops revolving around that research, primarily i'm interested in RP involving the phantoms, nomads, and wild - along with alien technology and remains. I have a handful of other players who have opted to work with my carrier in this group once 4.85 is out.
-The rest of the order players (indies who do not fall into the above categories) will be "the" order, they're the patrol wings, the defense force, they represent, essentially, what the npc order represent - because they make up the bulk of the order's players.
I will be splitting the order roster up soon to reflect these different groups, and every group will have at least one seat on the council to give their say in any issues that arise for the order (In-RP). We will have 9 seats on the council, no more, no less.
Now please, before arguing about anything, keep in mind that this order council is -replacing- black squadron's admiralty as the 'leadership' of the order. Up until recently, black squadron claimed control over the entire order, both bs and indies, and that gave none of the indies any real say in what happened with the order's RP. This is the change, we're giving everyone a say through the chosen representatives, each of whom has a very different goal with their RP and for their characters.
Normally i would refuse such a position if it were offered to me, and i have been considering the possibility of leaving GC and am still sorta debating it.
However, with some of the recent changes in the community and since im the leader of the Binary (a group of robot/alien cyborgs who came from gammu and now work with the order, for those who dont know of us). If i was offered a seat on this council i would probably take it, reluctantly.
I would like to think that i am a somewhat decent writer/rp'er and i do know a great deal about the order and its history, even before Orilion made them widely known. Most probably dont realise or know it but the order has exsisted since before the sleeper ships left earth. (i'm still working on the somewhat canonitical history about them)
Anyways, the idea of a 9 member council to replace the current "leadership" isnt a bad one and accually fits better what "The Order" really is and has been for nearly a millenium. (a covert group of powerfull and like minded individuals who mostly care about the protection and betterment of mankind as a whole using whatever means necessary) It would probably also help to unify and organize the various divisions and indies as they should be.
I even just brainstormed a kinda silly anacronym;
Organization of
Reconnaissance,
Defense, and
Experimental
Research
Quote:Most probably dont realise or know it but the order has exsisted since before the sleeper ships left earth
Yes, it was originally referred to as the order of cincinnatus =P
Anyways, not that I wouldnt mind having you on the council (I've seen you a few times in game) - but RP-wise, I dont think an artificial intelligence robot thingy would really offer much to a leadership group.
actually, if there were an AI on the council, that could offer some un-biased opinion to a situation and he could act in rp as a record keeper of sorts and like make sure everything is being thought of (all in rp of course)
The post for the Binary is pretty much empty right now but there are a few posts in the "calling all order pilots and ships" thread that tell a little bit about us.
The reason the main post is mostly empty right now is because i have about 10+ notepad files full of the research and data i have gathered or written since ive been playing here. Im still trying to put it all together into a cohesive story/history and will post it sometime shortly after the release of 4.85.
As far as my seat on the council if i were to get one i would RP it as an "Agent" who was assigned by the council to oversee and represent the Binary, not accually "as" one of them if that would clear things up.
