Important note so no one gets the wrong idea. I am well aware this has been attempted, but I had my own thoughts about what the ASF could be and I want to share them. Also, this is NOT a faction proposal (I don't have the time to start one up). I just want to know what you think of it. I know the old one was declined, but I want to see how this will do. Again, this is not a faction proposal. I just want to hear your thoughts.

Background
The Alliance Marine Corps is an organization designed solely for the purpose of preventing the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army from spreading their ideas of totalitarian communism around the Sirius Sector. The pilots come from all over the Houses, but they like to stay out of House affairs.

History
After the Exodus of the Five Sleeper Ships, everyone thought that the troubles of the Coalition were left far behind. Little did they know that the Coalition followed them. After the Corsairs realized that the SCRA had sabotaged the Hispania's engines and then escaped, a small group decided to put aside their thoughts of dominating the other Houses and form the Alliance Marine Corps to combat the SCRA.

By 813 A.S., the AMC had gathered a sizable force that could withstand the SCRA. However, the SCRA were persistant. They managed to hold back all AMC raids, so the AMC continued to gather more supporters and technology from the Houses. The War of Sol had already destroyed the Sol System. The Alliance Marine Corps weren't about to let their new home fall under the hand of communism.

Affiliation and ID
Affiliation: Zoner
ID: Military ID (or custom one like the Coalition ID, but I know this won't happen)

Diplomacy and Goals
I'll start with diplomacy.

ALLIED
Zoners
Bounty Hunters Guild

FRIENDLY
Corsairs (because they hate the SCRA too)

NEUTRAL
All House Factions (except the Red Hessians)
Outcasts
The Order
Independent Miners Guild
Gas Miners Guild
Junkers

UNFRIENDLY
Red Hessians (for being allies with the SCRA)

HOSTILE
Nomads
The Wild
Phantoms

WAR, KOS, KILL, KILL, KILL!!!!!
Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army

Now for goals. Basically, the AMC exists for the sole purpose of taking down the Coalition and freeing the people from the tyranny of the Coalition dictators. We stay out of House affairs (we don't help out the police or the criminals).

Zone of Influence
Around the Omega Systems for the most part, as that is where the SCRA are commonly sighted. However, if any SCRA go into the Houses, we will come in and help get rid of them.

Ship and Equipment List
There are two possibilities.

1. Zoner and Civilian ships and equipment.
2. Ships and equipment from all over the colonies. HOWEVER, if you have a Bretonian ship, you MUST have Bretonian weapons. No mixing weapons like Bretonia with Kusari or anything like that. Also, no Nomad weapons. We don't want our troops getting infected. I listed this because the members are technically from all over the Houses.

Ranking and Roster
The ranks are:

General
Lieutenant General
Major General
Brigadier General
Colonel
Major
Captain
Lieutenant
Sergeant
Ensign
Recruit

Roster: None yet (this is just an idea, not a real proposal)

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

At least it isn't having them wander aimlessly through the house systems. The thing is, "Help" get rid of them should be "forcefully get rid of them, regardless of how the house feels about it"
That is more realistic of what to expect out of an organization taking policing into their own hands. Look at liberty and the order. The order is a terrorist faction there, even though they are there to get rid of a real threat.

Oh, one last thing, how come all officer ranks? It's the GD Marine Corps.

Here's a better suggestion for Ranks.

Enlisted
Non-Comissioned Officers
Senior Non-Comissioned Officers
~~~
Officers
Senior Officers
Generals
See, half the ranks, and spans the entire reality of the Marine Corps.
One last thing...
Quote:General of the Army
WHAT THE HECK MARINE CORPS ARE YOU MODELING THIS OFF OF?!?!?!
Not in England, not in Singapore, not in America, not in Korea. All the Marine Corps of those countries all consider it a major insult to be called "Army".
I think the idea is not that bad, except that making yourself so oriented against the SCRA leaves you open to some problems. Your faction will be completely dependent on the SCRA, if they are not active, you are just twiddling your thumbs. If (god forbid) the SCRA as a faction went under, you would be out of a job. Making a faction that is not vanilla and so connected with another faction means your rp and activity is completely dependent on someone else. For an idea like this to work, you need to somehow come up with some part of it that is not based on the SCRA and what they are doing.
Also, asking the SCRA might be nice for various reasons.
Also, the Red Hessians (among other Rheinland unlawfuls) play a vital part as one of the Coalition's most obvious allies.
I don't know much about the roleplay behind the Alliance Marine Corps, because what you have presented is not that much but the idea is nice.
However, just something I don't like very much is this:
' Wrote:Now for goals. Basically, the AMC exists for the sole purpose of taking down the Coalition and freeing the people from the tyranny of the Coalition dictators. We stay out of House affairs (we don't help out the police or the criminals).
Correct me if I'm wrong but these two (highlighted lines in red) seems to contradict each other? Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant.
So are you going to help the houses or not? And since you seem to be flying around the Omega systems, you will first of all encounter Corsairs (who do like to attack us), will you help them or not? Because in the first line (that I highlighted in red) you say you won't. But at the same time you will help house systems get rid of SCRA? I'm really confused here...
I like that you tried to first stick to only zoner and civilian ships which seem to fit you best according to your diplomacy that you are almost "Zoner-Like" diplomacy basically neutral to all except SCRA. (Do note that Red Hessians are somewhat allied to us so you might want to talk with Blodo about that).
Anyways, your second option of having equipment and ships all over the colonies... I'd say you should be very careful how you handle that. You can get in too many problems and maybe if one of your members aren't cautious might even get a sanction because accidentally having two faction equipment (or ship) that contradict each other. Like Outcast and Corsair guns, now I know you mention that you will not allow that sort of mixed up guns but still how will it look if say you personally have all Corsair stuff, but your AMC friend has only Outcast setup? Your rules (as few as they are) states that this is ok, since both of you are not mixing up faction equipment/ships but that won't look good as a whole. This is why I'm saying you should be careful how much freedom you give to your members by letting them choose whatever they want. (This is just a suggestion, you still feel you can handle it, then by all means go for it!)
And good luck on your faction/idea! I can't wait to see you and future members in action!
Hrm, I need to sleep before I really take a look at this, but asking the leader of the SCRA about it might be a good idea. More later, I assure you.
I kinda combined the US Army and US Marine Corps ranking, but if what you say is true, then bad idea. I got rid of the General of the Army bit.
Well, I never intended to start up the faction, I just wanted to see what people thought (this is my first time doing it too). Should I still have asked even if I don't intend to start it?
When I say House affairs, I mean stuff like the Bretonia-Kusari War or helping Liberty deal with pirates like the Liberty Rogues.
I never said anything about landing on Corsair or Outcast bases. We would operate in the Omega systems and maybe our base of operations would be Freeport 1 or 5.
First post has been edited a bit.
