Anyway people say oorp pirates make oorp traders (or the other way around) well mabye it's all about first Impressions upon entering the server, the lack of a rolemodel... Heck I know I would of ended up a oorp person if kuraine didn't pick me up in Hokkaido and showed me how to to and to register on the forums.

Mabye we need more people who can rp well in those areas? Cause I know in most cases good rpers avoid them if possible.

Anyway that's it for me until I think of something to say,
Saigo

i agree,

i would avoid those areas but as nova one of my jobs is to stop the flow of goods in/out kusari space.
my OC pirate is never there i dont want to have headache form that chars as well:(.
if any trader here i am not pirating or taking your cargo to make cash i trade just like you. its RP really, if you manage to RP well enougt and proove your point you might go unharmed with cargo (maybe)

Dont tell me you havent enough time to say much more if you are in overkill party able to stop and kill BS.

You and whole your group my friend doest know what does it mean RP... especialy not while piracy. I sugest you jump into your powertrader char and move your ship from NB into Liberty and do few loops thru Magelan into Bretonia, hackers will show you some RP in piracy (most of time). Im not doing piracy anymore (until 4.85 come out) so i cant do it for you.

I was in there?.. You saw me in there?.. 4mln:DI dont ask so much, I ask 3 mln If i see a very whealty trader.

Mhm And how could I rp, then all traders keep in silance, and instead of halting then demanded runs?..

Anyway, where do you seen pleasent pirates?.. Maybe my character is laconic? And? You cant require do that or you get this.. you talk much or youll be sanctioned. Maybe my character cant talk ???

Ir traders halt, I always try to have conversation, if he runs insted of haltin then demanded, I just run Pay or die.

look realistic, Robbers dont talk with the victims to much.

Furthemore today I saw one trader in oemga 5. I starte nice conversation about corsair food programme, since he is flyin trought omega 5 he must donate our nation. ... but he kept in silance all the time. If not, he will join space dust. Well but no answer, so why should I try to rp, then i get no asnwer. Its like talkin to a wall. Shimada if you like to talk to walls you talk. Ill better act then speak.

And about my friends, they are new to this server, do not excpect much from the start, then all the time they were playin on Void server. Anyway, I am learnin RP myself, so its no wander that we are not 'Perfect' as you want to see us?..

And yes? Im much more intrestin in fights ... Just talkin makes me boring, anyway only fightin without any scenario is boring too.:)PvP Due to Rp makes perfect combination.

the ships lucky seven its crewed by a semi indepened t computer(rp ji s training an ai to fly his ship as hes a military officer and cant risk himself thpo with escourt he wil lfly sometimes)

sorry, but when i say "powertrader" or "powerpirate" i only mean those people who do their part fast (whether with or without RP) and earn lots of cash for a specific purpose.

Its not "bad" word when i say it. I don't think powertraders are bad, its those traders that don't RP at all (whether they managed to become powertraders or not) that are truly worth condemning.

this will change for the better if we work together.

wassup

Powertraders/Power Pirates don't matter. A CD stops the powertrader just the same, and the powerpirate won't last very long if he starts pissing off a lot of traders. While it sometimes is difficult to hire an escort or Bounty Hunter, generally by an hour you can have a horde of people heading down for the pirate. If he comes back to the system before 4 hours are up, he is available for sanctions, solving the problem.

The rules and the community take care of power pirates, just as powertraders run into nasty surprises for too much powertrading. However,

THIS WHOLE ISSUE IS ABOUT PIRATES ABUSING GAME MECHANICS
Here are the abused game Mechanics:

1) It is possible to be friendly to bases while killing people right next to them, even if your IFF/ID calls you Nomad. (I know that never happens, but it is possible, and that is the abused mechanic when a bad pirate sits next to a base.)
2) Jump GATES get broken if you are hostile to an NPC group with escorts that encounter you trying to pass through.
3) Hostile NPC assistance isn't necessarily a broken game mechanic, just bad RP. Less justification for this than for constantly spamming cruise and not talking. The Player can't pay those pirates off. At the very least keep your eye on the player and allow the player to defend themselves from the NPCs, since they cannot be called off in any other way. Especially if they are talking and requesting that! Alternatively, clear any potential hostiles away from where your engagement zone will be.

So I repeat, besides the last one, this isn't about RP or powertraders or Power Pirates, it's about knowing exactly what the heck you are doing, recognizing you are exploiting game mechanics, and reducing the amount of times you do that.
Jump hole piracy is not broken. Pirate jumpholes, or move 2k away from the jumpgates if you must pirate there. I do believe once an NPC gets 1.8k away from the Jumpgate, they take themselves out of the line.
Don't abuse faulty game mechanics to pirate. It isn't just bad RP, it's bad form in general.

Then ignore the trader that dosn't talk to you, act as tho he wasn't there. Go find a trader that will talk to you.

Yes, it's an RP server, but if someone does not wanna RP with you, go find someone else to RP with!

Get away from the mentality of "I'm a pirate, everyone passing this point will pay me or die." and go towards "I'm gonna go look for a decent RP experience, screw the silent people."

Anyways, if you wanna insist on blowing up every trader you come across, I hope I don't meet you...

Quote:While it sometimes is difficult to hire an escort or Bounty Hunter, generally by an hour you can have a horde of people heading down for the pirate.
So if you get pirated, call up a horde of all your buddies to PvP whore him? Do you know what the term fairplay means? You don't need to come out on top and have your enemies killed every time either. A pirate isn't actually a bad person in real life, there seems to be a mindset that they are some horrible murderer, therefore they should have no respect shown for them, and should be relentlessly PvP whored to death.

Try and do some good and not encourage this attitude.

Not even an issue. Report him, that's sanctionable.

You tell pirates to compromise their RP to counter a problem that isn't their own? No, that's stupid. For one, my pirate would not be following her RP if she just ignored someone who didn't RP. You seem to think this is the panacea for this idiot situation we have. It's not.

Back to Remora. You utterly miss the point. Sure, CD the powertrader, kill him. The point here is that he's fleeing without a word, and your opportunity to RP is horribly impeded. That's why we have rushed statements like 2 mil or die.

Nothing wrong with a rushed demand, just judge a situation as it comes. If the trader is going to be an ass and say nothing, give him a rushed demand and kill him. If he stops and shows RP, follow suit.

All we need is respect for either side. Something no one here seems to have.

And this is the way I try to pirat.

And the part with the gates?.. whats wrong with them? I ussaly see NPC near the gate.. about 400 k. Need an example? Outcasts near Newyork - Texas gate.

Second. We all have counterfeit software to hack Jump gates or trade lanes..

Not all Pirates do the 2 million or die sentance I know I do not ussually demand credits unless I see them come through Chugoku more than once, first time I see them its drop the Blood Diamonds/Niobium then I blow it up and tell them to Leave the system the way they came and they are tresspassing. The second time I see them its same thing except I demand credits for tresspassing as well as blowing up the diamonds/niobium. I am 100% sure you can find a few people that will gripe about me doing so but as a NovaPG I am being Kind by just destroying the diamonds/niobium I do it to get RP out of the Power Traders that want to do nothing but trade and ignore everyone as much as possiable kinda hard not to RP when you see your 5000 units of cargo go poof.
