Juanita was always a slighty odd girl. When she was not high on cardamine, she would lapse into a morose, sociopathic state of mind. This, however, did not detract from her piloting skills. At the age of 13, she already showed great proficiency in the cockpit, and as soon as she came of age, she was initiated into the Malta defence force. However, her violent mood swings and antaganism towards her fellow pilots chafed on her superior officers. As her ability could not be called into question, it was decided to reassign her "for the good of her health" (actually, an excuse to get her out of the way) to the Cali Combat Squadron, in order to assist in the defence of the western edge of the Outcast dominions.
