While I have nothing against terrorists/nomads/Wilde/Phantoms, I sorta agree with Tenacity. The rule against killing transports with large capships is a completely ooRP rule (you can try to justify it ICly, but it's still an ooRP rule), designed for fair play and balance. If pirates and lawfuls aren't allowed to bother transports with capships, I honestly don't understand why terrorists/terrorist factions can. It's not 'more in-character' for them to do so.
' Wrote:As far as I'm concerned, terrorist, wild, phantom, and keeper ID's should be subject to the same restrictions regarding usage of capships against trade vessels as every other faction. If you want to mindlessly blow up a transport, do it in a gunboat or below, and yes I say mindlessly because that's generally what happens with these factions.
"yay, free-for-all pvp approval from the admins, pewpewudai!" is generally the end result from these players whenever I see them in a capital ship.
I'm inclined to agree with Tenacity for the most part here. Perhaps terrorist ID might be allowed, given the rarity of it in capships anyway, but Wilde/Keeper/Phantom should probably follow the same rule.
Thinking about it further, do they all even have that many large capships for such an enforcement to change much more than bringing everything in line?
My two cents are...well i dont care frankly.
They can blow anything up, so what? People die all the tame, be it traders or anyone else. So a cruiser wtfpwned you, so what, go on your bhg char and blow up an outcast or xeno or something. Ooorp for not letting you powertrade? Nah.
My encounters with phantoms...one helped us blow up Kuun-laan and the other passed me in Beta a few weeks ago. o.o
I was ignored to death *sniffle*
meany...not even as much as a SN in my face.
o.o
wait...why am i here again?
Off to school!
In short, Phantoms - Win
Terrorists- Win
Keepers and Wilde - Much Win
Well, it's not up to terrorists to 'punish' powertraders. The issue (current one, at least), is what's the reasoning behind allowing them to kill transports in large capships when other IDs (which may perhaps have more of an in-character reason to want to) cannot.
There aren't all that many terrorist capships around. Mon'Star, Harbinger, a couple of Phantoms, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Quote:5.5 Dock-killing when player is undocking/launching from a planet/base is not allowed.
It obviously sounds as if this "encounter" happened within a few k of the planets dockring/mooring fixture. BTW, don't zoners have a sorta "no-fire" zone around all thier bases & planets, i doubt Zoners would remain neutral to Phantoms for very long if they started shooting up people that close to thier property.
Also,
Quote:6.20 Attacking traders or demanding cargo is not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless cruisers and battleship belong to Terrorist ID or Phantom ID owner.
Terrorists can. Phantoms can.
Keepers/Wilde can't (not sure why), but they almost excusively fly fighters/bombers anyways.
I know my opinion probably means about jack squat here, but i have to somewhat agree on this.
They sholdnt be able to kill/attack traders if they are in a cruiser or battleship, but then i think that whole rule should probably be changed anyways. A cruiser without fighter/gunboat backup most definately wouldnt let a trader dock on crete with a load full of passengers. Keeper in a cruiser/battleship absolutely wouldnt let the trader get away if he was carrying 100's of brains. But, I do not think "pirating" in a cruiser or battleship should be allowed either.

That's the exact point. Rules do not apply. Just randomly attacking traders in big ships is a bit... Cowardy. You know I'm all for you having fun and PvP, but go to battles with someone who actually can fight back, or dodge, but capshipsmashing traders is really...eck.
Well, not that I care much, since nearly all my chars are Pirates/Zoners/Junkers... But still. Even if you CAN, don't do it, it sucks somehow... Just bash the Niobium/Diamond traders. But the rest doesn't deserve it.
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.
i am really tired of this terrorist, phantom, wild, keeper, nomad ID accusations.
99% of people who meet player with one of above mentioned IDs dont care about RP. 99% of those people will simply start firing on the terrorist.
I was even accused of bad spelling in my RP while was under attack, or cause i used U instead of you. Yes...i say...be lucky that i even gave a response, cause i almost never talk while i am being attacked.
Also, such ignorant statements like : you are a terrorist, what did you expect, that we wont shoot at you? simply doesn't cut it. Role play is expected by both sides.
And finally, as terrorists we rarely travel in same plane as rest of players. We usually fly above or below the plain, we make surprise attacks and we attack fast. We go for the kill. And most definitely we will not announce our attentions in public chat.
While some terrorists may attack in less populated systems. But ones who are limited to very populated systems usually are lucky when they can fly from one side of the system to another alive.

Hey, you don't even have to be hiden and make surprise attack on theese traders.
Ok, but now really. I have never attacked terrorist, but I was attacked by terrorist...
For example, what exactly is your reason to kill Zoners on sight? (not the Trader-zoners)
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.
i may have terrorist ID, but i roleplay as Xeno...i don't kill Zoners...and generally rarely kill traders at all (if i attack a trader its usually Junker tagged trader).

Well I won't complain about Xeno attacking Junkers, since it is kinda normal. I havn't meant you...like you, but you like all you Terrorist out there. It shouldn't be just about killing anything around, no matter what it is, so I've wondered a few times why should Terrorist IDed guy in GB attack Zoner in Eagle, next to Zoner base. Yeah. It happened to me. Twice even. Both times without any word. I may try to dig up the screens to see who exactly it was, its a half year back. I just belive there was "Jack" in the name, but I am not sure.
EDIT: Aren't you Prospector.... or so, by any chance?
