Day 27, Commodore's Quarters, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 6:05pm

"You doin a'right up ere, Buster?" Underboss Craig Anderson looked concerned for his fellow rogue. Buster had
been locked away at TNF for weeks working on what had been coined the name "Project Disaster". Now he sat
with his head resting in his robotic hands, elbows on a table littered with Research Plans, Blue Prints, and Text
books on Nuclear Fusion. "yeah man, im fine. just tired." Buster replied with a sigh. Craig saw in his friend a
mix of frustration, exhaustion and pain. He looked terrible, his eyes were sunken in and dark gray circles were
billowing from under his eyes. Buster looked up, his face ghastly and not as full of life as it usually was. "just
bring me more slaves, the project must be completed on schedule". He reached into his pocket and pulled out a
slip of paper he had been scribbling on. "oh and if you could have the boys bring me these, i would appreciate
it". Craig looked at the list and nodded his head."Sure man, anythin' ye need." Buster watched as his long time
friend turned and walked out of the room, then slammed his fists on the table. "WHY WONT YOU WORK!"


Buster had a whole team of 25 scientists when the project began, but several had died from being over worked
and under rested. not to mention trial 2 had gone disasterously wrong and the Mark II power core exploded
killing 3 of his engineering team and over a hundred slaves. Buster had been careful not to make that mistake
again. He studied all of the Algorithms and took every precaution to ensure of it.


The comm speaker on Buster's desk startled him, breaking the silence of his quarters. "Commodore, we are
ready to test the Mark V" it was the voice of one of his remaining engineers. "I will be right down, Ranaud."
Buster said in almost a whisper. He opened his desk drawer and pulled out a bottle of Narcodin, An energy
enhancing drug that was strong enough to wake someone from a coma. he popped two in his mouth and
chased them with a bottle of Mezcal he had brought back from Malta. "please let today, be the end." he
muttered as he stood up. He headed for Lab 3.

Day 27, Lab 3, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 6:25pm

Buster entered the lab, beginning to feel the sudden kick start from the narcodin. He gazed at the giant Mark
V Engine in the center of the room, his engineers checking it over to make sure the slaves didnt slack off and
leave a bolt loose somewhere. everything seemed to be in order. Buster walked up to the giant engine and
placed one metallic hand on its frame. Come on, baby, work this time okay? he thought to himself. He turned
to Ranaud. "fire it up" he said, a sudden strength in his voice, a combination of excitement and the drugs.
Ranaud moved over to a large square panel of Dials and buttons. he pulled back the glass casing over the
Ignition button and pressed it. The engine whirred to life, slowly at first and then picked up, the sound of the
power core was deafening in such an isolated space but Buster was used to it now. The engine hiccuped a little
but kept running. the large anchors attached to the engine rattled but held on as the engine tried to push
forward. It was working, roughly, But working. "alright, Shut it off" Buster yelled to Ranaud. The engine whined
down with a low whizzing sound and then sat dormant. "We need to tweak it a little, its gotta push alot of Metal
and its rather weak right now. Bore out the Fuel Injectors and increase the polarity of the Drive module by 600
CP. Also, check the integrity of the Cryocube in the Cooling manifold and make sure all connections in the
wiring are stable and grounded" this was it. some small tweaks and then they would retest.


The engineers got to work. Buster walked to the lounge and got a cup of coffee and lit a cigarette. He hoped that
this was it. The engine complete, to Lord Moka's specifications. He hoped for a promotion but was smart enough
not to push it. he stared out at the clouds and giant asteroids that surrounded TNF, day dreaming about what it
would be like to be Underboss. He sipped his coffee and took one last drag from his cigarette before dousing it
on his boot. He walked in a trance of grandeur back to the lab.

Day 27, Lab 3, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 7:43pm


Buster watched as the engineers and slaves finished the final touches on the Mark V. He looked down to
realize he had crushed his coffee cup into dust from the anticipation. wiping sweat from his brow he tossed the
remains of the cup into a nearby recepticle. "Sir, the modifications are complete" Ranaud was standing behind
him, a fearful look on his face. Buster knew why. If the engine failed, he would do to Ranauds face what he had
done to that cup. "alright Ranaud, lets give it another go" Buster sat down at the table and watched as Ranaud
pressed the Ignition button again. The engine whirred to life, much faster than before, It glowed brightly and
the engine noise was stable and constant. The Anchors were almost ripping up from the ground from how much
force the core was pushing. He had done it. The engine core was working beautifully. "alright Ranaud, lets test the
core itself. hook it up and see how much power it is putting out." Ranaud moved to hook up the meter to the
power core and began shouting out the Readings. "8 million u, sir. With a recharge rate of 260,000 u per
second". It was perfect. He had successfully replicated the Outcast' Design.



They had to move quickly, with the engine core finally finished they had to build the engine cowlings to fit it in and get it mounted, Which meant more slaves. alot more.
Hopefully Craig would have the shipments he requested along with the mounting brackets and hardware.
He quickly went back to his quarters and sat at his desk, rustling through the mess of papers for the blueprints he was
looking for. Yes, It was almost over. He could see it now, the look on Lord Moka's face when he reported in that
the Core was complete and ready for phase 2. He licked his lips and took another swig from the bottle of
Mezcal. This was going to be his greatest accomplishment and a definite milestone in his career. Buster sat
behind his desk and smiled.

Day 28, Hangar Main, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 9:07 AM


Buster got everything ready for Lord Moka's arrival. He wanted to see the Core in action personally and was En
Route on his flagship, The Emblem of Liberty. Buster ordered Ranaud to be ready for a full demonstration. He
wanted the Core to be transferred to the Main Hangar and everyone involved to be present, including all
remaining slaves. This was his chance to make a lasting impression on the Pirate warlord. Buster walked
through the Hangar making sure everyone was ready and posted where he wanted them. The remaining slaves
were In column formation towards the front of the Hangar. Ranaud at the control station and the rest of the
engineers in single file in front of the core. everything was hooked up and ready to go. "Mr. Commodore, Lord
Moka has arrived, He has just docked on his private hangar and will be here shortly." Ranaud had a slight
quiver in his voice, a little raspy at times and he was sweating profusely. what a terrified little maggot he
was. "Thank you Ranaud, make sure my lord is escorted to the Main Hangar and is well accomodated." Buster
headed for the control room which was set behind a large pane of blast proof glass. from there He and Lord
Moka could view the demonstration safely.


He watched as Lord Moka was escorted across the hangar to the control room. "Mr. Commodore, I take it
everything is ready?" His eyes were sharp, expression firm. Buster replied confidently "Yes, My lord. you will be
impressed to see the progress we have made here. I had the core transfered here for your safety. now if you
will just look there, i will demonstrate to you what we have accomplished." "Very well, lets get this show on the
road" Lord Moka took a seat in one of the chairs in the control room. Buster turned to Ranaud. "Fire it up,
Ranaud". The engineer opened the casing like before and pushed the ignition button. The core Roared to life,
filling the hangar with light and sound. as stable as it had been before. Buster watched Lord Moka as he
checked the Power readings. "Excellent work, Mr. Commodore. now how about we push its limits a little bit, see
what this thing can do." Ranaud seemed a little more agitated. "Sir, im not sure thats a good idea, we have not
yet tested it to its full capacity." A little annoyed, Buster Ordered Ranaud to do as Moka requested and the
engineer reluctantly began turning knobs and flipping switches. The core flashed and whirred louder and louder.
the anchors holding it started shaking violently and Buster could see they wouldnt hold. "Shut it down Ranaud"
He glared at the engineer at his side. "Ranaud, SHUT IT DOWN, NOW!" Ranaud looked absolutely horrified, "Im
trying, sir, Its not winding down".


They watched as the core grew louder, the flashing had turned to sparks and the anchors began to tear up
from their mounts on the ground. Suddenly one of the Anchors broke loose and sent the Core spinning towards
the front of the Hangar, crashing into the slaves that were grouped there, too terrified to move. a loud boom
and a flash of white light blinded Buster and pitched him to the floor. The core broke apart and the pieces went
flying in all directions. Buster watched in horror as his entire engineering team and the remainder of the slaves
were slaughtered by molten metal projectiles. The room suddenly grew very quiet as the three of them stared
in utter shock at the sight before them. Everyone was dead.


Buster stood up angrily and went for Ranaud. "Mr. Commodore, Mr. Commodore, please i didnt kno..." Buster
grabbed him by throat with one robotic hand. "You didnt know what the Hell you were doing!" He squeezed his
throat with that powerful hand until he heard Ranauds Esophagus Tear open with a Hiss sound. His neck
breaking in 3 places and collapsing under Buster's grip. He released Ranaud and watched him fall to the floor at
his feet, soaking his boots in blood. "my apologies, my lord, for this unfortunate turn of events" he said as he
turned to lord Moka. "Its alright my boy, we have come this far, you will just have to rebuild it." Buster drooped
his head in dismay, knowing his time at TNF was far from over. "As you wish, My lord".

Day 31, Hangar 3, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 7:26 pm


Buster Watched as his new Batch of slaves unloaded the Yacht owned by Romario De'ron. It was the 3rd
shipment in 3 days of supplies needed to rebuild the Disaster's Engine. Romario, With a tooth pick between his
gold teeth smiled a toothy grin at Buster. "Good ta see ya, mon. Lord Moka told me ta tell ya dat the Junkers
be bringin the rest a ya supplies in da next couple day's. I brought ya a gift, mon." He pulled a small crate from
the hold of the yacht. "Lord Moka Been sayin ya Hung'ry. so i brought ya a care package". The crate was filled
with luxury foods, steaks, salmon, chocolate, wine, and potatoes. "Thanks Romario, I guess I havent been
eating very well." Buster really was appreciative of his fellow rogue's kind gesture, his stomach hadnt stopped
growling for the past week, all they had stocked up on TNF was Synth Paste. Romario smiled again and put his
hand on Buster's Shoulder. "There be nuclear devices in dem crates too, mon. so dont ya go blowin yaself up
again, hmm?" Buster nodded and forced a smirk. Romario patted his shoulder and walked back to his
yacht. "Must be goin now, mon. There be alot goin on outside dis rock." Buster watched as Romario boarded his
craft before turning to head back to the lab.


Day 31, Hangar Main, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 8:31 pm

The hangar was filled with the sounds of the slaves building, His new team of engineers stood close by,
barking orders to the slaves. a couple had dropped already from starvation, Lord Moka declared that food and
water for them was too costly and would cause them to go over budget. There were plenty of them to get the
job done, 5000 had been dropped off the day before which was 2000 more than Buster had estimated they
need. Buster stared sipping his coffee and taking frequent drags off his freshly rolled cigarette. The base of the
engine was already complete. once the junkers dropped off the rest of the commodities, he could focus on
rebuilding the core. He had decided that he would program the settings for the core himself, the hassle that
Ranaud had created was over bearing to Buster's nerves and he preferred to just do it himself. Things were
finally getting put back together, and a good thing too, Moka would have no issue putting a bullet through
Buster's skull should he mess this up. everything, had to be perfect.

Day 44, Hangar Main, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 11:31 pm


The time had come, Buster watched as the last of the supplies were brought into the main hangar. He owed the
Junkers more than just a drink, he owed them a night at the bar on his tab. fortunately for his wallet however,
Lord Moka had already more than compensated them for their hard work. He watched as the slaves moved
crate after crate into the hangar. He had given his engineers the day off in order to rest up before performing
the finishing touches on the construction of the Engine core. they needed their rest. Buster, though knowing
Lord Moka's orders were to not feed the slaves, shared his stash of luxury foods with them so they would be
strong enough to get the job done. everything was coming together. He had re-hashed all of the algorythms
and made all necessary tweaks to ensure that The Mark VI would not fail. Buster put out his cigarette and
headed to his quarters so he, too, could get some much needed sleep.


Day 45, Hangar Main, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 8:46 am

The final stage of Project Disaster was here, Buster could taste it on his lips. the taste of Victory and
satisfaction. He sat quietly in the control room, sipping coffee and finishing his morning smoke. He stared at the
Mark VI, looming in the center of the hangar like some kind of Monolith. It was surrounded by slaves and
engineers, bolting on pieces, checking calculations, and going over every detail to ensure perfection. The
project would be finished in just a day's time and then Buster would call Moka for another viewing. Only this
time, it wouldn't end so tragically.

Day 46, Hangar Main, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 12:01 pm

" Alright boys, It's time to relish in the fruits of our labours. The Blood, Sweat, and Tears you have all put into
this project has finally brought it to fruition. THIS, is a new chapter, a new era for us as Rogues. with Pain and
Death we have forged this Machination of War that looms before you. We have given death wings. And made it
ready to fly. This is our time now, our moment to shine. We have evened the playing field against our
strongest of oponents. and we will show the great nation of Liberty, we are not a bunch of petty criminals. We
are, The Liberty Rogues."

Lord Moka's speech was breathtaking as he stood before the 500 remaining slaves and engineers
from Project Disaster. Buster stood at his side, taking in Moka's words. The man knew how to deliver a
message, that was for sure. Moka nodded to Buster to begin the demonstration for the now complete Mark VI
Engine. He had personally inspected the engine to make sure nothing was not as it should be. He pulled back
the glass casing over the Red Ignition button. with a shaky hand and sweat running from his brow, he pressed
the button.


Buster watched as the engine whirred to life, a strong pulsing purr of a sound entering his ears. the sound of
perfection. He had set the engine to 90% powercore just to be safe and slowly raised it to full capacity. the
sound grew stronger and louder and it took everything Buster had not to grin from ear to ear. "Set it to Cruise
Buster." Moka's words sounded like a low murmor over the drone of the engine. Buster motioned for the
Engineers to attach the stabilization chains to the Engine as he prepared to push it to Cruise. once all the
chains were in place, Buster sucked in a deep breath and moved the lever from Idle to Cruise. The engine
sucked in energy and he could hear the engine prepping itself. BOOM! the sound hit like a bomb going off in the
hangar and Buster watched as the Engine pushed forward, the chains struggling to hold it in place. Slaves
jumped out of the way to keep from getting incinerated. It worked. "SHUT IT DOWN." Lord Moka yelled over
the almost ear shattering sound. Buster lowered the lever and pushed the ignition button again to shut down
the engine. "My boy, I think you've done it..." Moka put his hand on Buster's shoulder with a smile. "Now put
the damn thing on my ship" He left Buster in the control room. It was over. Finally, it was over. and the Rogues
were about to have a fully operational Battleship. Buster finally let the grin break through on his face and
quickly regained composure. He turned back to the slaves. They were still disoriented from the effects of the
engine. " Alright ya Bastids. Get that thing mounted so I can go home."

Day 408, Hangar Main, The Nonsense Factory, Cassini system, 1.52 pm

Moka had returned from exile, almost a year after the ship was thought to be complete. He had been on-board the Unnatural Disaster for this time, making minimal contact with any Rogue. Over this time he had discovered a crucial problem with the modified Sarrissa cooling system, it could not keep the weapons systems cool enough to fire. As Buster was missing in Action, presumed to be dead, Thing took it upon herself to oversee the testing and troubleshooting of the ship. Almost instantly the problem was noticed, the cooling system was unable to reduce the cores temperature after a short flight. This was only the beginning of the bad news. The weapons test showed a similar result, the cooling systems were failing. The ship was proving to be inefficient as the weapons quickly overheated.

Not long after the Disaster was moored safely on The Nonsense factory, work began to replace the piping for the cooling systems, everyone had crossed their fingers, working quickly, hoping for their own lives that this was what was causing the problem.

The hanger was almost silent as the engineer from the testing found Thing. "It.....It's done..... The problem has been fixed." She nods and follows him to the ship, ready for the great un-veiling.

Day 411, Padua Base, Galileo system, 6.32 am

There was silence as the weapons were tested again outside Padua. The initial flight from Cassini had gone well, the systems weren't over heating and it was looking good. "Alright...... Test the secondary weapons when you're ready." Thing watches, recording the test for analysis. "Testing secondaries.... 3... 2... 1...." Moka fired, and was able to keep firing. The guns were staying cool enough to be efficient. They all were grinning, not wanting to say what they were thinking. So far it had been a success.

The other guns were fired without missing a beat, the temperature was sitting just above normal, everything was looking fine. The engineers were right, the piping was too small.... It needed to be wider to allow the systems to cool, it was working.

After the testing was complete, the group set flight back to Cassini, Thing staying behind constantly asking Moka for status updates. She could hardly believe the ship was working. They reached Cassini safely, The ship moored and Moka stepped out, commending the Rogues on their efforts.
