First off is there an estimate for a release date? Second are the Battlestars going away? Getting changed? If I want one do I need to get it before 4.85 or will I just be wasting money?

Release date is likely quite soon. Battlestars, I can't say what's happening to them. If you want any capital ship, I suggest waiting for 4.85 because chances are you might have to rebuy in anyways. Best to be a bit patient.

There is no "replacement" battlestar. It will look the same. It will have mostly same stats. However, the powercore is getting changed, so to avoid having to rebuy it, buy it when 4.85 is released.
