Yep. I agree that shield busters should do equal damage to all shield types, just saying it won't entirely make people stick to their faction's shield of choice.

I don't even know what type of shield my NPC factions use...

I didn't say anything , cause its really just a small advantage , it you have 2 shield buster weapons on your ship... it is just one or 2 more shots that will finish shields if damage for all will be the same. If all stays as it is.. no biggy either.

EDIT : of course that it is small advantage if you strip shields faster than loose yours... but thats details

I'd make shield busters be equally nasty against all,

BUT

Make the regular guns' modifiers more noticable Like... not 1.2, but times 2.

I forsee a situation.

Shieldbusters work least effective on Moelcular shields.

Everybody buys shieldbusters.

Everybody else buys a Molecular shield.

By saying Yes your really sacrificing the variety of the shields we equip.

Really, you lost me there.

Now, shieldbusters are least effective against Graviton shields, so everyone buys them. We would remove such difference (not just switch around so it would be Moleculars that protect best) and the type differences from other weapons would have more effect.

I quite like the idea of making the modifiers more proclaimed, not sure about the exact values though. 2x seems a bit too much.

I agree with Panzer's idea. Like Marvin says, maybe 2x is too much, but I sure think 1.2x is too little.

In my opinion, 1.5x would be reasonable, along with making all shieldbusters do the same damage to all shield types.

I like the idea of the higher multiplier for 'normal' weapons (high dammage-> 1.5 low damage -> 0.5)

In the name of variety,I say yes.
It won't make a big difference,but I like customizing my equipment,and this aspect has been decreased either by armor upgrades or shield busters.
I'm also a bit tired of seeing only Raven's Talons.I mean,there's a huge quantity of ships in this game,and those are nearly the only VHFs used.
bit of a waste in my opinion.
Back to the topic,I don't see any drawback to mirroring the shield busters' effect.

Sorry, but I can't resist to bust out the gravediggin' shovel...

I see the requests for equalizing pulse guns, but may I propose yet another alternative? Make various shieldbuster guns. you know, one to bust gravi's, one for moleculars, and another for posi's. Even give them various fire rates with respectable balance for damages. *drools at an 8.33 buster* That may even level the field for house/faction specific busters.

I Vote Yes but with a high consideration on other.
