Personally im all for faction specific supernovas, as long as they're varied in stats.
ex
higher refire, but lower damage output
lower refire, but higher damage output
higher projectile speed, lower refire /or damage
lower projectile speed, higher refire /or damage

As for comments such as "How could other factions develop a weapon based on the Order's Supernova, if inRP the Order wouldnt allow others to use it?" Well.... Simple answer, progression of technology. Contrary to certain beliefs RP needs to be dynamic. Factions that currently dont have bombers or capital ships, in certain situations will find that they need a ship of equal power and begin developing them, and its the same for weapons.

Overall, I think the good RP people are looking for variety as opposed to sheer power.

Some different things like Chain Guns getting a projectile speed boost;
Or a Mini-razor/inferno with more the energy consumption for more the speed/damage/range depending on faction;
Some different effects - like a faction SN looking like a pulsed beam weapon (single 'zap' not a lag-inducing stream) - or having a delayed fire;
Torps with better speed and tracking, but no blast radius to make them less effective against fighters.

Just a few thoughts. More variety = more tactics and strategies = more fun!

I would think that the House Navies would have better and more types of lvl 10 weapons than some other factions.

For example, the upcoming conflict between Liberty and Rhineland should be sending their respective R&D divisions into a frenzy developing as many high powered weapons as they can.

Kusari and Bretonia should have a few more by now due to the ongoing conflict.

As for the Outcasts and the Corsairs, I don't know how centralized their respective governments are, but I would think they would be developing some.

As for the smaller factions such as the LR, RHA, LWB, Mollies, Etc, I am unsure how much support they would have in the R&D end of things. Perhaps they stick with codies, or steal technology that was already designed.

Just my 2 cents.

Edit: The Lane Hackers prolly should have a couple more. They could have a decent R&D division, and the capability to steal new prototypes and design plans.

Yes, Frontierspace has specially developed weapons, (Which are only sold on the special forces base, which could be gaurd bases in discovery, and you must be full green with the gaurds/spec ops to buy them.)

A few names are

END OF DAYS
PHASE CANNON
ect.

This would be a nice idea for Discovery, They also made codename ships... which is also very cool but everyone would have them instead of the normal ships such as titan and sabre.

Yes, the level 9s have been rebalanced. Once the 4.85 is out, we'll be able to see all the devs' hard work. I think it's probably best to shelve any discussions about making class 10 weapons until everyone's seen how the class 9s turn out.

new lvl 9s are better than codenames for most applications, they also eat up VHF powerplants pretty fast.

If lvl10 guns would be introduced, they will be mostly used by bombers, don't think those need more anti-fighter firepower.

I Agree, Lv.10 Guns is not a bad idea but it is not necessary.
I am sure in 4.85 current faction guns will make more sense.

Certain Bombers in this mod are as agile as VHF's with low hull and that shouldn't be, I hope it will be rebalanced.
