My father told me this when I was young, and I never really understood the meaning of it,
untill the day I found myself in a prison cell, on a remote planet somewhere in the border worlds. Kept away from sunligt for 7 years.
I've done things I'm not proud off. But I've never felt regret about what I did.
Because I did what had to be done, to insure my own survival.

5 months has passed since I got out, and since then I've become a member of the Bounty Hunters Guild,
and a reasonable self-sufficient hunter.

I'm an opportunist. Not a murderer. If I get paid, I will kill. I don't kill for fun or joy, just merely to survive.
If someone has a bounty on their head and make the mistake of turning away... I will stab them in the back. Why? Because I am an opportinist. And they gave me the opportinity to kill them.

But..

As long as I don't get paid I do not see the reason to why I should risk my life...
That is the reason why I run out on anything that doesn't have a profit.
Because money is to me what nature is to those tree hugging Gaians!

I belive I can become a profoundable contributer to The Strontium Dogs, due to my somewhat lack of moral judgement and ability to do the job fast and quietly.


My background?... I have no background. My life started 5 months ago.

I've been playing on this server for about 2 weeks now and think it is time to join a faction that I can relate to as a bounty hunter.
I really think the discovery mod and the RP rules really brings a lot of new gameplay to us who have played freelancer like crazy back in the day.

I have to character: "Thomas" and "Tensdale"... Thomas is a simple trader.

On my Tensdale character I have a "somewhat" fully equipped AP12400 Bomber, full rep with Bounty Hunters guild and Bounty Hunter ID card.

To be eligible for admission as a recruit, you must:
Acquire an equipped BHG HF/LF with full BHG ID and IFF/REPUTATION.
Complete 15 escort missions for traders.
Report fully on your character's career from civilian to registered hunter, detailing missions undertaken, areas of activity and so forth.

We need to know a lot more about you before we'll even consider letting you sit the examination.

When I joined the Bounty Hunters Guild 5 months ago they weren't interested in my past,
so I assumed you wouldn't be either. But S/D is not Bounty Hunters Guild and I apologize for that.

And my application was written to insure you got my message about not being to happy to speak about my past.
But, whatever it takes to join the agency.

I grew up on god forsaken planet called California Minor in the California system.
It was a rough childhood. Almost 60% of all children dies in the first couple of years of their
life due to the freezing cold. When I was 10 my father died, and don't really know anything about my mom.
So some of the manual laborers took me in.. But they didn't take me in of pure kindness.
As soon as I turned 14 I was set to work outside. I worked there for 5 years.
Do you know what 4 hours a day in - 110 degress without any protection can do to your face? And over a period of 5 years?... It's not a pretty sight.

So when I turned 19 I knew I was gonna have to do something. Even tho it didn't look like it. I was a slave.
Over the years I've had the chance to catch a ride with a Freelancer or a friend and get a short cruise around the planet. So I knew my way around a spaceship.

So I made a deal with a freelancer who was willing to help me with acguire a spaceship.
It was just that...
I was responsible for the security that day when I left. Ofcourse no one knew, so I wasn't replaced.... 250 people died because of me.

For two years I lived on the run doing small jobs for a group of bounty hunter I've come to know very well.
Not the most trustworthy people in the universe, but they became my familiy.

On a hunt in the Omega-3 system we ran into an ambush... and... I just didn't feel like being a hero that day. I sort of never do. So I ran..
Headed for the jumpgate to Cambridge and took it without thinking.. I ran right into the arms of the Bretonia Police,
and was later contronted with the incident on California Minor, and were sentenced to 7 years in Kahrhull.

So now I'm out, sitting here in Sheffield Station, trying to figure out what to do now.
I could become a businessman, or even do some trading..
HA!, but who the hell want's to sell or even buy anything from a guy with scars all over his face. A gift Minor's cold gave me.

And come on.. The only thing I ever felt good about doing was to hunt domeone down.
The hunting has allways excited me... Watching the prey get more and more desperate...,

Or maybe it's not healthy to feel that way?... I don't really know.. And I don't really care.

We appreciate your background story. It sounds...very similar...in some aspects to many other stories we've heard from our applicants over the years. However, you still need to fulfill the application requirements.

Take your Hammerhead or Sea Serpent (or, heaven help you, a Piranha or Barracuda), contact Synth Foods, Republican Express, or APM, and escort their ships. Make sure that you document those escort missions, and report on them. This will take a little time, and we're aware of that. Quite frankly, we invest a lot of money in our ships and equipment. We want to know that our pilots can survive. You'll need to learn the trade routes, the hot-spots, and how to use your wits to survive.

Nephryte has no fixed adress and (most of the time) no money.

Would like to hear from you. being chased around by 30 corsairs and outcasts becomes tedious after a while when one works alone, non?
