When new pilots first jump into a Starflier they often are infected with a terrible disease thought to have come from Planet Harris' surface. Sometimes it jumps over to veteran pilots in an unknown way. Many police are wary of this disease and if detected, will challenge the affected person to determine if the pilot is suitable and capable to safely fly their ship. This terrible disease is known as the "lawl syndrome". It often appears in conversations with variants such as "lol", ":)", ":(" and many others. There is a cure, thankfully, and this is to continually expose the affected pilot to good roleplay. Eventually the lawl syndrome will be replaced with good roleplay itself and the affected pilot will show good signs of growth.

One of my characters, Bucket, is a comedic take on lolwuttery, obtuse traders and lunatic piracy.

I saw a guy last week or so, spamming syschat in manchester panhadling donations from every passer by for loldisease research... & from this viewers perspective, it was irritating as hell.

call me rigid, but making up a viral condition to perpetuate some of the worst behavior this server has to offer & calling it RP makes my eye twitch

So, I have been thinking. Yes, I have a brain. And I was wondering about actually role-playing a man with the lolwut virus, undergoing a horrible transformation. Role-playing perfectly, but pretending he had the lolwut virus. I doubt I would actually do this - no time to spare at the moment - but I am just curious about it.

People might say "There are too many lolwutters already, don't turn into one!" but I disagree. The idea of the lolwut virus was created quite recently - at least a few months ago - and it shouldn't go to waste. A full diary being written of the transformation, and I think it would add some interesting words to a few faction reports.

Opinions on the matter?

Hahah. Sounds like fun. It'll give me good reason to actually MAKE an ANTI-Harris Disease strikeforce. Oh and the virus (lolwat) virus was created not a few months, ago, but has been here for as long as I can remember. (22-April 08 was when I joined the forums). It's been around since before then. I just expanded on the idea. I'll give you my Strikeforce proposal for some ideas if you want.
