I'll have to agree with mjolnir here: the messages should be as short as possible for the players to keep track of things while being in a dodge-intense fight.
So I'd propose
#1 <Corsair> Ejected <--------------------------- Suicide Message
#3 <Hessian> blew <Corsair> up <-------------- Basic Death Message
#4 <Hessian> defeated <Corsair> <------------- Basic Death Message
I have to agree with the general concensus that the new suicide message isn't very good.
Technically, we cannot commit "suicide" because we aren't actually "dying". We are merely ejecting from our ships and going back to a base, where we have a backup ship awaiting us.
Although, i can see how some people may think the shooting themselves in the head thing could possibly reduce the number of suicides, but in application, the number of suicides will stay the same.

I like the simple "defeated", no mess, and the defeatee can RP it as they wish.
Or you could have <Hessian> WTFOMGPWNT <Corsair>...
' Wrote:'xxxxxx has shot themself in the head' makes no sense grammatically anyway...
Shot Themselves
Shot Himself
Shot Herself
I'm a grammer nazi... tis true
DQ
Grammar, I'm a spelling Nazi, its true.
(Although that could be how the Brits spell it; you and your crazy usages of vowels: grey, colour, favour, etc...
I rather like the crucial navigational error by the way.)
It is a suicide message though, and is going to stay that way. There are other more enterprising ways to
keep your hold of your guns, than deliberately flying into a planet. Not very 'roleplay' is it ?
