'Carly, good to see you made it! Sorry for the delay in that assignment that sent you to Southampton. Captain Hassaan seems to have caught a virus of sorts... Anyway, no rest for the wicked, we're testing a few new fighters for us in Connecticut. You'll like those, they suit your style. Drop in for a sparing.' said Pat with a smile on his face and turning to the lady in black...
His smile turned to a disappointed 'long face', he closed his eyes and rested his head on his palm which was covering his right side of the face. Shaking his head, he whispers through his teeth 'I told you to backup first!' then in a normal voice 'Well, what's done is done, Empires collapsed, a few ships shouldn't be such a problem, let's get you re-started!'
'Jay, over here!!'
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. "Since those PMG guys seem to have vanished (looks like kusari isn't the only place cursed..) I've decided to go into the mining business myself, traded in my Ctrans and made a profit buying a miner."
He sat down in a corner, "Just got to stock up on perishables and then I'll be gone for a while to do some mining."
Maria moves the hand to her ear, when her mobile intercomm crackles.
'Mistress', it says, 'there are news about the ship software and weapon malfunction'
She sits there, listening fascinated and forgetting the crowd around.
After it ended, she still stares at the table and the ashtray.
"YAY", she shouts and starts laughing, while looking in some faces that ask her to be mad.
With a rush, she approaches the bar, grabbs the mech-tender and pulls his head closer.
It's aggreement shown by flying fingers and a long before recorded laughter, it starts working.
She crosses the room. Hoodlum and Pat, with a very irritated look follow her back to the bar.
The bar's awaiting them with three ugly looking, burning drinks.
She takes one of them, waits them to get theirs, too and says:
"Thank ya, guys. Ya made me ships fly again - I want to have a glass with ya, never knew ya'r
able to remove the security protocols from me ships software-update."
"Ahm... what might this drink be?", Hoodlum asks and Pat's still unsure of surviving it, too.
"This, dear mates, is a recipe, I found at Yaren, long ago - it had no name - till now !
Ya guys made me give it the name 'IND's Glory'.
Thank ya for yar help, mates. What ever ya wish....."
Pat takes breath to say a word but Maria interrupts him: "No - ya don't wanna know, what's in there"
With a laugh, she cheers and they drown it.
Hoodlum smiles: "At least a lot of Tequila in it - another three ?"
A smile was hiding under the skin of Pat's face, he was trying to hide it.
'Enough of these, baby... and I won't care about your make-up or the colors you wear... I think I know why you're so nice.'

"...well, good news everbody! Let's have a round of something a little less crippling. I just need a good walkin' buzz. Sophie! How's about the standard pre-flight...kick the fires, light the tires...yada, yada. The RMA worked! It only took six hours of finagling and praying to heathen deities to restore all the systems. So, a few good drinks then it's back to work! I've got to make up for lost time"
"Romer old bean, welcome back to the land of the living dead ... Money still intact then ?

The dusty indian walked i, brushing at his pants. A plume of dust left in his wake.
"Hey fellas, ladies" He says tippin his head to the ladies. A smile tries to show itself for a moment there. "Finally got that piece of iron back in. New thruster, nav and sheilds updated and Armor enhanced. Its ready except for the weapons are a little weak. Miss my missiles. Hows it around these parts?"
He looks for the barkeep. Great gal there. "Sophie, a thick one please."
