First I would like to thank you guys for such a cool mod..

(1) One of my biggest problems is that when a puny little fighter rams a HUGE battleship, the BS is tosses about like a rag doll making aiming imposable untill the BS rolls over again. Or any other cap-ship. I dont know if that is fixable but when a fighter hits a cap-ship it should be like hitting a wall and not move the cap-ship. :angry2:

(2) {bug} I docked on a gas miner in the sigmas and thats cool how you can buy cheep fuel from them but. I clicked on the bar icon and it all crashed! :(

(3) I would realy like a new class 10 wep. A Missile launcher that shoots about 1 every 1/3 Sec. with visable trails VERY good homing and eats off energy rather than ammo. I am not such a good aim and I would like to see a ship able to use missiles as a main wep. It needs to equip to a fighter, have a desent power rate and a general low yeild but still powerfull enuf to use as a final loadout for L10 fighter. PLEASE!!!!!!! :ylove: This would help to mix up what people use.

(4) I dont know if it is loo late for a request like this but. I find myself needing a Political Liner. A ship as big as the prison ship but a different model. 3000 cargo hold, One Lv10 turret and four Lv8 turrets. Maybe this is just a pipe dream but I sher would be happy about it!

(5) Finaly, I dont know if this is even do-able by you guys but I can only have 5 chars on thi server and share the space with my girl friend. I would love to have a 8 char limit or higher if possable.



P.S. I also agree that the whale should be a wee bit bigger and hold like 5000 cargo. But I think it should have ONE Lv10 TURRET on the center front for mining.
It should have at least one gun for functionality and look....

and certain people *cough* have 10 or more.
Korrd is your main man for a decent explaination of how it all works. I'm sure he would
be willing , if asked again, to post a brief outline of the ins and outs.
Most of us can thoroughly recommend it ...

Hi, me again...

Thanks for the answer to my (5) Hoodlum....

I also think that with a few new ships a huge amount of Scifi fans can be apeased..

STARWARS
1. A-Wing ------ Fighter class
2. Tie-Fighter -- Fighter class
3. M-Falcon ---- Gun Boat class

STAR TREK
1. Voyager ---- BS class
2. Defiant ----- Gun Boat class
3. Borg Cube - BS class

You see this mod is a great balance of stuff but it kind of drops the ball on Star wars and Star trek and those are the biggest groups of scifi fans in the world. these few ships would bring in lots more players, and new clans. ;)

Yes we need missile launchers that take energy for fighter mainguns make em do less than the ammo based rockets but have em guzzle power. And please bring lots of starwars ships, you have BSG ships and some from games I have never heard of.

Plus can we have a weaker variety of mines that also does not need ammo and takes energy. Plus can we have counter measures and mines for all caps plus can we have torpedo slots for certain gunboats? So we can have torpedo ships like in most fleets.

Perhaps we can have some more types of capship turrets instead of the few we do and can capships have greater ammo capacity? Like say on a BS it should have cruise disruptors galore.

I don't really think that these new ships would be added. Lots of us have proposed new ships, and not ever in. We're not trying to completely screw over FL, and that's what puttin in trekkie and starwars ships. Political liner, doesnt look like a FL ship. For more factions, y dont u read the post that says TOO MANY FACTIONS!!! The missiles would maybe be a good idea, but maybe make it way too easy to kill ppl. That's all i have to say, look at dab's and tank's post for more info.

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

The fact is guys, that most Star Wars and Star Trek ships don't fit in Freelancer. We want the mod to stay VERY Freelancer-ish. Adding in A-wings and Ties, and Star Trek ships are NOT Freelancer-ish ships.

@Dude: Problem 2 has always existed. You aren't supposed to dock Gas Miners. Only those with real names (Gas Miner Naha)

Problem 1 has always existed, and we have yet to find a solution. If we knew of one, we would definitely have fixed it by now.



About the energy missiles. NO. The whole reasons missiles take ammo is because if you had unlimited amounts to just spam, your fighter would be invincible. The enemy could never shoot back, because he would get bombarded by missiles. I am definitely AGAINST energy missiles.

Torps only for energy, and thats to fix BS immunity. And the swarm, which is a torp-slot weapon.

Notice I said weaker missiles meaning quite weaker than the others, maybe a missile with weak accuracy and high energy costs and bad damage but make guzzle so much energy spamming is a waste of effort and time.

Took a mission from Rostok base in Omega 15, working for the Rheinland police. Level
41 and paying 470k, for a returned prisoner.
Imagine my horror having successfully completed this and returned to Rostok, to have
the 'Mission failure, group lives exhausted' script come up, and no money paid.
Wouldn't have minded, but I flew it on my own ... Frellin' BHG, never did trust em ...

Wow that seams weird, did know the RP worked on rostok, I always thought rostok was a copy of Sheffeild station and you would see bretonians and stuff on it.....

@dude42: I haven't actually flown the whale yet, but isn't it a bit big for going into asteroid fields anyway? Besides, there's no reason why the turret has to be a class 10. A simple laser turret is just fine for all the mining I usually do.

Of course, all this is beside the point of the Whale. It's meant to be a large ship that needs fighter support in dangerous areas. That's why it has so much armor and no guns now. The cargo space issue is valid, but everything else really isn't necessary.

@TankTarget: Dab's comment about the missiles appeared to be aimed more at dude42's proposal. In which case, such a weapon would be ridiculously unbalanced. Think about it, class10 level damage, 3.03 refire rate, unlimited ammo, almost impossible to dodge. We might as well just throw balance out the window. The missile you described is actually fairly close to what the swarm launcher is now.

No offense meant, dude42, but your missile sounds like something for a person who doesn't want to devise a strategy.

Edit: I just thought of something that might make it less tempting for people to use speed mod: Figure out how to make FLMM think that speed mod is incompatible with discovery. Granted, this wouldn't be an excuse for not knowing the rules, but it would make it less tempting for those new to the server.

It's official, I have too few ships now...
