Silly question perhaps: Why can IND land on bases hostile to their faction while the average person would get hammered?

Infocards are a poor indicator of alignments. That and we aren't military. A transport belonging to an insurance company is rather different from a ship of war belonging to, say, the Outcasts docking on New Berlin.
Oh, and RP built up over the years. Dealings made with the head honchos and such. For example, it's amazing who the Corsairs will let dock on their noble planet if you bring gifts of food.

For the Core.

Rp answers a lot of questions and I don't think the [IND] is the same as the Interspace Commerce NPC faction in each case they aren't anymore (I don't know how it started out)

I believe this is the right place to talk about you wanting to buy Oita

a) As was already mentioned it borders to 3 Guard systems and nothing else. While you "have deals" with some of them I thought those deals are (and should probably be) rather shady and invisible to general public. Buying a system in between there doesn't seem like it supports this concept.

b) Oita belongs to "independent worlds" afaik, between two houses, which in their very concept should remain "independent".

c) there are tons of other available systems that actually "belong" to Liberty instead of an independent system with Kusarian name:
Minnesota
Quebec
New Hampshire
Alberta
Yukon
Kansas (this one is questionable)

Agree, there is no real way they could get through the LPI guard system, without perhaps paying us a nice large lump sum/passage tax. =p Which I can see happening, as other factions/traders have made deals, however to allow the entire faction through.. you may need to part with some of that cash burning holes in your pockets =)

I think the question of what and where we buy is down to us actually. And to the question of trading licenses,
that has been dealt with in roleplay, and under the table as well.
The post in the system thread is a curtesy, and would be conducted under the table, as I made it in a roleplay
fashion for that reason, so the likes of all the other factions would be entirely unaware of it.
IC is currently getting a new base in Kusari I believe, and is where the ID for us is to be placed, plus the odd
rumour concerning another Kusari faction. We are not exactly entirely Liberty based at all ...
Oh, and for reference:
Faction Name: King of Fighters
Faction Tag: [KoF]
IFF/ID: Universal Shipping
Home System: Minnesota
And no one can actually block a faction from reaching an owned system, and of course we would have to be
neutral to pass through any of those guarding it.
I will let the personal side of this pass once more gentlemen, but I am getting a little tired of it today. Create
your own factions if you wish to dictate policy to others please.

You (IND) decide what you want to buy and you (admins, half of which are in IND) decide if you get to buy it or not.

So yes "it's down to you" to decide and buy it.

You are showing us how to do that. You buy yourself a guard systems in the middle of guard systems of 3 official factions... and those then "can't block you from reaching it".

That indeed is dictating policy to others.

@Zelot
I presented logical reasons why buying Oita is slightly controversial and presented 4 alternatives that seem more logical to me.

The answer was "we do what we want".

Probably just the spillover from the other IND Whingefest I just closed. Be patient. It'll pass.

But really.. Oita??? That was either very poorly thought, or very devious.. Can't decide which.
