The "Whole Role Play" thing is what this server is about, its what makes Discovery unique and its what makes Discovery the best Server in my opinion.
PVP has its place, but it isn't the focus of this server- and you should be allowed to Role Play as much as you like in Liberty, or wherever, without being snapped on by a half a dozen people all looking to shoot at something.
Fact is though, that there are some reasons that will be a problem - firstly;people's attitudes: People assume you're there to PVP because, well, "your're hostile, and PVP's what its all about right?"
No people.. Wrong, its not about pvp at all.
You are hostile in that area though, so you should expect some pvp to ensue at some point, or at least, be a possibility, but if you open the encounter with Role play, you should get role play in return.
The unlawful strategy lately has been to have 1 or 2 small ships sitting around to lure the law. We send an "equal" force to deal with them, they dodge, and all of a sudden a massive unlawful fleet arrives.
Yeah.... I think us Lawfuls are going to respond with a large force for many future "Events" for a very good reason.
Before your unlawfuls starts complaining about lawfuls, look at your own kind. It goes both ways. Both sides need to learn a balance.
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust
No, please, by all means, stay and don't go for another house. We really could use some more interesting RP in Liberty - and I know it ain't always easy (hey, I'm leading a Liberty-based player group, and I've got my share of indie characters as well that occasionally cross Liberty), with all these "cut your comms, we don't care"-idiots, silent bounty hunters and traders and ZOMGWTFBBQPWNCAPSPAM-indie-lawfuls...
Just try to stick to members of the official player factions (I don't know much about other player groups in Liberty, but the [1st] will always try to RP with you as well), they're usually quite nice folks. There are quite a bit of awesome indies in Liberty as well, though I'm sure I don't need to tell you to be more careful with them (especially if they are flying big ships).
Or, to sum up: Don't let some idiots scare you away. There always will be people who are only here for the PvP, people who tell you that your RP sucks or people that might annoy you otherwise. Just don't listen to them, get to know a couple of people who are always up for some RP and try to play at the same time as they do. That's what I did, and it worked for me.
Just so you know, Katie, the lawful gunboat who decided to join in the fight and refused to leave was quickly dealt with. By way of Supernova to the face.
If you're there for the RP, as you've said, you need to take the leed. Every time I've come across you, the only conversation I've had out of you were responses to my statements. Give me something to respond to, and figure out when it's a bright idea to leave, although I still think a Junker lass would be a better way to go. If you're sore, then how's about next time I see you, we have ourselves a little war-of-words, eh?
@Unholy1: Lies and slander. We would never help the Rogue scum. *Winks*

Agree with you fully on this one. I try to match pirates with an equal force, but when they throw a missile-spamming gunboat into a friendly fighter match, I get a little annoyed. Not to mention the lolfleets we've had in New York over the past couple of days. I think it was 5 Outcast destroyers in New York a couple of days ago...

It was a pair of Corsair Cruisers right before what she's concerned about occurred, then three gunboats afterwards. At two in the morning. But I stand by my previous statements.
As for the thread you linked to, you said yourself in it that we sat around chatting for over an hour. As Joe said, for the LN if we're not roleplaying take some screenies and send them to one of the admirality and I'm sure they'll go crack some heads for it. Myself, I'm not that great at RP, but if you take the lead in a convo I can do pretty well. As for the capships, we try REALLY hard to 1. stop them from coming or 2. if they come not have them engage. Having a battlecruiser or something come and show up along with soem fighters against a force of outcasts fighters can make some sense though. As long as the battlecruiser doesnt engage, it could be a show of force to try and scare the otucasts off or something. Scaring them off would possibly save some of the fighter pilots lives. If something like that happens, you could do something like run away to the badlands then taunt us until we send in just some fighters after you.
I know that doing all of this is asking a lot of you. As someone said ealier, Liberty and especially New York is a cluster**** and I applaud you for being an unlawful here. All I'm trying to suggest is take some of that cluster**** and make some RP of it if you can.
So ya, I probably am completely biased here as I have about 3 Liberty lawfuls and my only unlawful is a corsair but I mean it couldnt hurt to try right?
I would like to say though that, as a lawful at a certain point there really is nothing left but to give an ultimatum. It can get to the point where they've Rped a bit and the lawful has stated his demands or whatever and the pirate/whomever isnt obeying. Then, there really is nothing else to do. We cant just fly off and leave you to your business as it kind of is our job to keep you away as lawfuls.
I would like to make a comment, especially about gunboats in Liberty. When you come and the only forces we can muster against you are 1-2 fighters and a battlecruiser, you should probably expect the battlecruiser to come after you. Unless the fighters are equipped with torps, theres little to no chance they can beat a well-played gunboat and as I said above, it is kind of our job to keep you away as lawfuls so we arent just going to do nothing.
I dont like libertian behavior.. you know "halt" 5.4.3.2.1 pew pew but outcasts are imo special case... im not sure, maybe I am completly dumb but arent they in war with sairs? If yes why is majority of outcast fighters permanently squating in New York? It is same distance from Alpha into NY like from Gama but everybody is complaining about sairs in NY but nobody complain (ok I am) about OCs in same system.
Specialy against OCs in Liberty I am for positive discrimination:)Liberty bad hommies (lib unlawfuls) get proper RP from liberty good homies (not "enaging hacker" pew pew... thats not RP) and outcasts should be shooten like you want, I dont care:)
Main point is .... Liberty is crowded even without latinos from Omicrons so outcasts, go home. :)
