Character with freelancer id has no affiliation with any faction so what can a freelancer fly?
for example can a freelancer fly a Bounty hunter gunship?
My second question is how to get my rep up, been doing bounty hunter missions but my freelancer rep doen't really increase.
- stinger
- ravens talon
- kushan light fighter
- kushan heavy fighter
- kushan VHF
- kiith somtaav heavy fighter
- kiith somtaav SHF
- turannic light fighter
- kadesh light fighter
- kadesh heavy fighter
- death scythe
- slipstream ( but only untill 4.85 is released .. and only if you re at least on OK terms with hackers, due to the selling location )
gunboats:
- kusari explorer
- IMG gunboat ( but only when you ask nicely )
4.85 won t change much... there are no plans to introduce any more civilian ships - there are some factionized that are possible though:
- luxory yacht ( transport / gunboat hybrid )
- kusari embassador liner ( which will probably be renamed to something illegible so its not considered a liner anymore ) - ( basicly a heavy freighter )
- zoner gunboat ( armoured transport mk2, not a real gunboat )
at that time, the IMG gunboat becomes a lot more factionized though - so that its not readily available to anyone anymore. - all in all, you see that the freelancers are more fighter focussed.
edit: i am sure i forgot quite some fighters available to a freelancer without any raised eyebrows - anyway... there are plenty to choose from. - only when it comes to higher grade military gear, its difficult.
k - removed my little comments from 2 of the ships. - one won t be used anyway, cause its ugly - the other isn t really such an unfair deal... its turning isn t all that great. ( but yes, its rather above average in performance )
from a RP point of view: no, its not OK ( in general )
edit: let me elaborate that....
RP wise, bretnoia is at war - and its not like they re on the winning side much. - they are short on resources, ships, personell. - a freelancer is a factor of uncertainty ( hence he is a freelancer ) - giving him a gunboat means not giving a BAF a gunboat command. - now the BAF is a reliable factor. - so that BAF would rather choose the reliable factor over the uncertain one.
from a point of view whats logical and possible - sure...
what you should do it to cooperate with the BAF| playerfaction about it - discuss it with them, give them a heads up what you want to do.
and most importantly - while plying ingame - reflect your good relationship to the BAF
so, its not only fancy story writing, but its actually RPing ingame that you are an independent freelancer that is allowed to fly military hardware from a house that is currently at war with another house. - so i daresay, you might not be "freelancing" at all when you get your ship... ( but you might still be a freelancer by ID )
Civilian and Zoner ships are mostly appropriate for a Freelancer. If I remember correct Zoners will be getting a gunboat in 85, that could be a good choice for you.
