Ifyou'd want to translate the rules into other languages, who will choose into which ones? Also, you'd have to find the right people to do it, speaking a language is one thing, but being able to write the rules in the right manner is another. Rules have to be defined so well, you'd need someone whom you can trust.
Translating the rules from English to french is something I can easily do now. Heck, I've even done it in the past. Trick with French is not to make sentences too short:PMake the sentence long and well detailed. In fact, The rules in french would be less confusing and complicated, as the language is can be more precise and detailed.
Indeed it wouldn't necessarily mean more work for the admins. It would be players volunteering their time. Several have done so in the past and posted their work, only to be smacked down by the admins and told off, because of the english only rule.
*note to any admin or moderator reading* Please do not simply close this and say the rules are rules. There is alot that can be discussed.
Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust

That's why I hate french class in school, get to the point, damn you:angry:
Rules are great but tolerance and understanding is better. When i 1st came to disco i was a total fish out of water ,the game is far more complicated than on the pvp servers i was used to and there are many rules to remember [to many when in the moment] it can only help all concerned if they are in a persons own language.as for tolerance i thank the guys that said in a gentle tone you know thats against the rules m8 can i help you sort your ship out so its in character, [tude of most established players ]i felt welcomed and guided on the other hand i could of done without the guy whose cap ship i accidently rammed and was berated by for a good 10 mins afterwoods as it caused him to lose a pvp guess what im trying to say rules are there to help us fit in and things to run smoothly this comes down to interpretation and understanding[u cant understand what u cant read] not to be smacked round the head with like a bat.
One thing I said before and I think bears repeating and consideration is a mention to look in one's hold for the rules commodity. The first time someone logs in, they don't necessarily look there. I know I died before I noticed it on my first character.
So, in conclusion, whenever a new character is created, they should get a pop up message specifically mentioning the rules commodity.

I like this idea. Maybe add a tick about the forums in the message as well.

Well people, the rules in french don't have to be writted in this forum, you can traslate them, and post them in somewhere else, and inform players about that.
But, remember, they have to learn english, intereaction between players is necessary, and it's only allowed (for system chat) in english.

Posting here or somewhere else doesn't change anything at the moment, and would not if there was such thing, since admins are deleting any reference to rules in other languages, whether it is a link or a post, in your sig or on your profile...

Of course, the server must stay English only, as well as the forums. The point of the server rules translated in other languages is not to give an excuse to non English speakers to go online and say what they want in their language. Not at all. Point is to make it easier for non-native speaker to learn the server rules, as the English version of it can be confusing and extremely technical.
There is a very big difference between reading a technical, high-end (quality), English (such as Scientific stuff, laws, etc) and reading common English (stories, books, chat, messages, etc). Speaking and understanding the latter does not necessarily mean that you can understand the former clearly.
