Fairplay

Ok for the past few days, as i've been sick, i was playing a great amount of time on Disco server, and it made me wonder...

Is there such thing as fairplay here?

From Outcast and Corsairs, to BAF and KNF... I mean, is it really so hard to try to make it fun for everyone?

Latest example that really tipped me off;

[rant]I enter New Tokyo on my Blood Dragon, and fly near Planet New Tokyo. 3 [KNF] members are patroling, and one of them starts following me, and after few exchanged lines a fight begins. Now he fights fair, 1 on 1, jousts, doesn't shield run(Satoru or Senzo, not sure, kudos to you.). Then 3 of his buddys show up and make it 4 on 1. I manage to shoot the first one down, which leaves 3 to 1. Then 2 more [KNF] guys come, one engages, and one just observes from the side(Arikashikari, kudos to you.) I manage to shoot one bomber down, so the one who was observing enters fight, so it's 4 on 1 again. Then even more of them come, and 2 [KSP] members show up, so it is now 6 on 1. Now it's 6 on 1, with about 10 bloody NPCs shooting and ramming me(I was in a bomber.) So now i figure ok, maybe they wont all gang bang on me, but how wrong i was. Not only the 6 of them attacked me, but they had to missilespam me like crazy. I mean, why? I didn't have missiles, i wasn't dropping mines, i was jousting, not shield running. Still they felt the need to missilespam, in a 6 vs 1. I entered New Tokyo today with high hopes to see how does the [KNF] behave, but i was sadly and truly disappointed. Currently in my eyes the [KNF] an [KSP] are on a rank of lolwuting Corsair indys who don't even know that the forums or rules exist.[/rant]

So now i ask you, is this really what Discovery, the greatest Freelancer server has come to? "Yo lol wut hey dai fire missilez letz kill him hes n00b!"? I mean it's ok from some newbies, but from like 6/7 members of two official factions?

So next time you decide it's 'fun' to do something like this, stop and think how would you feel if someone did it to you.

Well I hope I have in all my time here always been fair to others, and if I have not, I'd appreciate someone to tell me where I went wrong.

Anyways, I do know how you feel, and I see unfair play in many places on Discovery. It's just something that's always been there, and there'll always be people too selfish to give out a fair fight. A relatively fair fight that is, I don't say that I can go raid a guard system of a faction and then complain I was outnumbered by double. But when it's outnumbered by a factor of 3, 4, 5.. now that's bad.

Yes i was in a Red Cat, against regular Cat ,5/6 Chimaeras and 2 Wyrms.

if u were in red cat i can understand why they wanted to missile u to hell and back...but why they ganged u in such numbers is beyond me...but then again i can understand how u feel...it is known to happen to me too...

fair play is very rare i agree with that..but sometimes u simply cant expect it...from role play stand point

Oh Tic dont you wanna start cry? My lone KNF char was raped today by groupe if 2 OC dessies, viper mk.II and Raven talon;)

btw now you know that feal when that happen to you... I even cant count how much time I was lone (in chimaera allways) ganked by 4+ BAFs in T31.

Oh and I cant forgot your (mean BAF) taunts like "I offer you fair fight noodleboy, just come here and here" and bang in middle of fight "engaging" "engaging" pew pew lolwut fair 3 vs 1 .

Tic no mercy with you in that ... enjoy fun in your own style.

i think people like those KNF should show some respect, im a corsair and even i fight 1 on 1 unless i am outclassed.

i would even go so far as to say that, unless you are on an invasion, there should be a sanction against that kind of 6 v 1 fighting.

we are here to have fun, not to disregard any form of fair fighting, especially not the police/navy

In any case, it does exist, just has a tendancy to get shoved to the back of the gang when compared to bad experiences.
It's far easier to remember bad experiences than good ones in general it seems.

I want to see how the KNF KSP respond though.

Yep, fair play certainly does exist on disco.

But lifes not fair in the first place, we just munipulate it in disco as much as we can. The rules do the best they can to make it as fair as possible, but theres always going to be a few occurances where the situation isn't fair.

The matter at hand could have been handled better on the Kusari lawful's part, but it's down to the players to make the rest of the game fair, the rules can't do it all.
