Lulz at the Gaian Gunboat joke.

Also, I doubt the IMG GB would be a viable choice barring the 'I stole it' routine.

There's lots of automated mining ships that could surely be reprogrammed. Who needs a gunboat when you could use a mining ship! :D It gives you raw materials to fix up other ships, too.

I dunno, just my random thought of the day.

Otherwise, maybe a Gaian Gunboat could be doable. What if it was preprogrammed to jam systems if they did anything towards Planet Gaia? Everything beyond that would involve causing havoc among civilization, which is, of course, the leading cause of pollution.

mmm... Necrosis cought me off gaurd a while ago when i had my Zoner Battlestar in Sigma 13. Lucky I hired a bomber escort, lol i almost died... Being prepared is so important... Probably because I waited for my shield to go down to 50% so i didnt break anyrules, didnt know the necrosis' RP back then...

Meh, Get a rouge GB, its perfect , so rugged and boring.

But hm, use the rogue gb meh thinks.

if my memory serves me right, might go along with the necrosis oki.

And how to get it? <strike>just go kill sindroms and nab his</strike>

Edit: I'm joking btw. You could 'persuade' some junkers to salvage you one, there must be a wreck of one somewhere ^^

so... individual players can have shiplines huh?

use a salvager! that would kinda work, but too big to fit into a dessie-type ship or a AI cruizer, tahts weird enough?

unlike typical situations where you would build an RP around what ship you want. i believe this may be a case where the RP determines the ship.

most ships that will work are all in the same category of availability, so the RP is what is the important part. just need to work that part out.

Possibility No.1:

-Mon'Star finds he has a weakness (as of yet undetermined, but i have an idea)
-the weakness appears at an unfortunate time leaving him vulnerable.
-he's captured. a long drawn out RP could happen where he's tortured/put on trial/etc etc.
-he gets free, probably with the help of PSI-Borg.
-he escape via a ship in the hanger/on the landing pad.

would that work, or is that still stealing?

Sounds good. Aldo I don't think Mirage would like someone else to kill Mon'Star. That plesure should be her's for the taking. It does sound like you have a good idea planned.

It sounds good to me. And yes, it is kinda stealing, but who cares.
Just because some people abuse the "I stole it" routine does not mean it can't be good.

using the 'stealing' aspect in a story is only bad when it is poorly written, and the audience can tell that the story is a 2 minute job to justify a certain ship combo. when done properly, a 'lulz i stole eet' story can become rather epic, and knowing you, you'd be able to pull it off kevin.

however, assuming you'd like to avoid the 'stealing' route, you can always go for a pirate gb which will be easier to get your hands on. 4.85 isnt THAAAAAAAAAAT far off, so ,maybe you could wait a bit and decide once it comes out. the outcast gunship is a good option, so is the rogue gb and hacker gunship (since its been updated from 'fail' to 'on par with others') or the hessian gb thats coming for 4.85. another option could be the lib gb using doom's explanation (which fits rather well to be honest)

What about rather then you stealing a ship from the hanger some Unlawfull types try to break you out in an attempt to gain favor or aid from you. In the end you just back-stab them and blast them out the airlock or somthing like that, to avaid having to be in debt to some petty criminals.

That way you have the Rouges GB as an option, or any Unlawfull ship realy.

Wanting to keep the ship small enough to realistically land on the Necrosis has always been a huge factor for me.

after seeing the OC gunship and how small it "seems" i'm leaning strongly toward it.

two RP stories have sprung from this decision so far.

-Mon'Star being captured (revealing a new twist on Mon'Star's RP)
-The Necrosis being boarded (the ships left by the boarding party being used by Mon'Star and PSI-Borg)

so in essence i've avoided the "stealing" story, i have a basis for two possibly epic stories, and in the process deepened the RP of Mon'Star and PSI-Borg.

All in all i'm happy with the direction this is going so far
