Sirius is in the outer rim of the Milky Way and Sol deeper than Sirius.
Judging on how the map is shown(left, right etc. if there are even such things in space) I thought to the "left" is Sol and to the "right" is Babylon sector. But dont know i may be mistaking. I dont know the Sirius geography that well.

I was just about to link this - looked at it when I was debating in this thread.
Both the threads talk about where Sirius is, and what it looks like.

Actually if you take the average distance between stars in our galaxy for real and consider that the Sirius system is somewhere around the middle of the Sirius sector. Sol is also somewhere within Sirius.

It's not something we need to try to explain, it cannot be explained because it is Science Fiction. It just doesn't work that way.

Back on topic: Including Sol would be dumb.

Including any new systems in the next version of the mod would be dumb.

Doing anything with systems before removing a decent amount of them in the next version of the mod would be dumb.

In theory - it would be nice to have a Return to Sol chapter for Disco.

In practise - it will be a few mod versions before we could do it justice.

Lets take it one step at a time!

It'd be really nice, it'd fit the roleplay, since Jumpdrives exist right now and I guess some factions would like to see sol, maybe just to investigate wich weapon caused the nova and so on?

Also I think some modders here would love to create sol.

So, most did not believe him, but someone may filed it and since some know about nomads and especually the order may know that.
And hell, if noone really knows that sol is destroyed, then Sirius would seek to come back to Sol, because it is still the home, and they may be interested to know what happened after the war and if the Earth can be settled again or whatsoever.
Also if they come back and find a white dwarf, with a lot of rocks and rings filled with rich orefields it'd be a magnet for profitoriented factions all over sirius, starting some nice events to claim Sol for themself.. yes?
