Um, Dab hes not trying to nerf if because its "Out-performing him."

He just belives that the Lux liner should not be a crusier, which is basicaly what it is right now.

I agree with him that it should not be givin alot of gunboat weapons. Mabey 2-3 like frigates and their 2 battleship gun spots. But not 6.

Oh yes I whole heartedly agree with that, hell my bomber got owned by a cruiser before I even got a shot off. There is nothing more horrifying than 11 GB turrets....Aimed at you....

Why? You're supposed to be able to "Discover" it for yourself. have some fun and actually do what the mod was created to do for once. That makes it pointless to discover if we had a map.

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

Dab, I leave nerfing stuff cos it out performs another ship to you.

The liners have no reason whatsoever to have any gunboat turrets at all. I've flown liners, only 1 or 2 turrets can't fire all the time in any direction.

Besides which, whats to stop people putting gunboat infernos on those 'few' gunboat turret mounts?

NOTHING AT ALL.

Which would mean a liner can still take out a cruiser shield.

A liner is not a cheaper, more agile, cruiser/destroyer with bugger all armour, it's a LINER.

So stop trying to keep the liners over-powered so you can beat anyone who attacks your liner and think about everyone else for a change.

A liner is way more agile then any transport or train, I should know I've attacked enough of them, so quit having a go at me for once.

With the relatively small amount of cargo it carries, it the liner is meant to make up for it with firepower.

Gunboat infernos can not take down a cruiser sheild as fast as a Cruiser inferno can take down a Gunboat sheild (which i think is what that slot should be).

The protection a liner offers is in exchange for 40% reduced cargo capacity. It makes sense for it to have GB turrets, to protect itself from gunboat that try to pirate it.

I am in favour of All GB turrets as the Liner carries alot less than other transports. I think we all know its a liner, but liners carry VIP's in a secure environment (supposed too) so i see no problem if you price the liner the same as the CT or the L.Train.

The liner is overpowered right now with the Cruiser sheild (IMHO) but if thats made a GB sheild, i would see no problem with liner. It takes double the time to earn the same amount of money with the Lux liner and i think that is enough of a sacrifice to garuntee safety on all of your trips.

The shield isn't the problem it's the 11 gunboat turrets ripping a cruiser shield to pieces without using a gunboat inferno thats the problem.

Plus people still seem convinced that the liners are cheaper, lighter armoured cruisers for some reason.

So fine, leave it as it is, just don't come moaning and whining to me when a group of liners start killing off every capship they come across.

Mcneo, I completely agree with you. Except your forgot liner has a cruiser shield on it, not gunboat. Which is one of the things I agree should be changed.

Well we can keep as is, change 11 GB turrets to 3-6, or make no GB turrets and up the cargo to 3100. Take your pick Marauder.

And before you EVER say I'm trying to not get something nerfed so I can use it against people, listen. I have been on this server for TWICE as long as you and I'm not going to sit here and listen to your **** when I have spent almost that entire time helping with this mod. I might not have any systems FINISHED yet, but thats not all I'm doing. I find bugs, I offer suggestions and solutions to some of those bugs. And I've done it longer than you've even been here. If I was out for getting the best of everything, do you think I would say anything about those bugs? Do you think I'd say something was overpowered when it really was?

Heck, I AGREED the Liner had a bit too much firepower with 11 GB turrets and cruiser shield. Thats why I suggested GB shield, that isn't that much larger than a transport shield if you haven't noticed. And why I suggested lowering the GB turret number to half of what it was.

Don't you EVER say I'm in this for myself and getting the best of the best. Did you see me in a Colonial Viper? Do you see me in Cylon Raiders? Do you see me flying around in an Osiris, even though I really like the ship? No, I stick to Eagles and Zoner Juggernaut for my AW chars. Only going away from that, when I made a second BS and a cruiser. If Zoners had cruisers, I'd be all over it. I could have left the Wraiths with Eagles that are considerably better than Eagles, and a ship Zukeenee and I would prefer over Sabres, but since Bundschuh used Stilletos, I changed it to Sabre.

I have ONE Luxury Liner as an intelligence ship for the AW. It has no armer yet, and only transport shield. I've logged a whole 35 minutes on it. If I loved having an unbalanced ship, don't you think I'd have finished it by now?

Stop flaming anyone who disagrees with what you think is right. Just because you have your own opinion doesn't mean its right.


Admins might want to split this off the topic.. Either way, I'm not saying anymore about this Marauder. Keep up your petty illusions, but keep them to yourself.

I think the Luxury Liner should have superior protection for it's passengers. i.e level 8 shield.
However, it should only have civilian class turrets. i.e level 7 transport turrets.

It is supposed to be a civilian ship after all...
