Its been a long time since I've reported in, due to some mechanical problems with my Sabre. But I have returned to Bruchsal and have already began preying, once again, on Rheinland worlds and stations.
The highlight of today's events center on New Berlin, as usual.
I began an attack on New Berlin's defenders, mainly a Wrath flown by a pilot named Damon. We fought it out, as a Lane Hacker came and also started to attack other RM Wraths. I was about to kill the fighter, until it used something called Nano Bots. Apparently it fixes the hull completely until they are all exhausted. After reducing his shield numerous times, and then his hull again and again, the use of nanobots increased. Finally, my fighter could not sustain any more damage, and I was forced to retreat.
After I equipped myself with these.. Nano bots and Shield batteries from Yanagi, I returned to Planet New Berlin. The RM were in a fight with the Lane Hacker, tagged as HF. Before myself and a friendly Blood Dragon could get there, he was destroyed. Nevertheless we charged all four Rheinland Wraths. We were both shot at by two of the RM each. Soon the HF returned in another fighter to join in the fight. But the Rheinland Military hired a freelancer, named Zukeenee. Only the skill of our team's pilots kept us at the top of the battle. I destroyed one of the Wraths after a long battle with another of them, sporting shield-killing missiles. How he obtained the rare weapon I don't know, but I suspect more corruption of the RM to be the cause.
We gained the upper hand after their ships ran out of missiles and other ammo. I quickly attacked Zukeenee's bomber as it had dual swarms with unlimited ammo. I had just gotten the hull of the bomber half way down, when all five ships broke off and made a dangerous attempt to land on New Berlin without the docking ring. All their ships were destroyed the the strong atmosphere of the planet, and likely perished.
We destroyed a few more military valkyries, no match for my Sabre, and a few Republican transports, their escorts helpless to stop me.
The HF left, and the Blood Dragon went back to Kyoto for repairs. I headed back to Bruchsal, encountering little resistance from the police and military. Obviously, three fighters had taxed them so much, that they were either afraid, or to tired to attack me. I made it to Bruchsal unharmed and sold off the prisoners I had captured, as well as leftover ammo and equipment from the dead Rheinlanders.
This is Shadow, we are to give aid to all Unioner, LWB, and Hessien pilots in Rheinland. The Hessien cruiser, Rancor is given permission to Bruchsal, as well as our message dump. Our contacts from the Omicrons will be sending a force here soon to deal with a certain threat. Our long-awaited cruiser will be along with them. They are free to use Bruchsal, but will not help us against any attacks by the lawfuls, nor help us in attacking them. We are offering them the hospitality of our base in return for the three light capital ships they are delivering us. This information is to remain classified.
Shadow sent his Sabre into a spiral as more laser fire hissed against his shields.
Jesus, what did these Scythe pilots get me into this time?
I pulled up, then inverted and skimmed along the top of the SiN|Tech Frigate in front of him, dodging its laser batteries that were to close to target him. Barely before he had passed that obstacle, I had another fighter vectoring towards me with all weapons blazing. Red lights came on as the shield dropped, a whizzing noise sounded as a missile passed by just a little too close to my hull. I pulled back on the stick, then spun his fighter around, strafing leftwards. I opened up with my guns as I dropped onto the tail of another KNF Chimaera, chewing its hull and shearing its starboard wing off at the joint to the main fuselage.
Laser fire flashed everywhere, enough to give off light sufficient to brighten the sides of fighters, and larger ships. Fighters dove, climbed, weaved, and dodged their way through the firefight, with occasional explosions signifying the explosion of a fighter or similar vessel.
My shield had risen once again during this, but warning sirens went off as it was suddenly taken out, and my hull took a direct hit from a cruiser's laser. Luckily my armor was up to sustaining the blow, and I dived his ship behind a friendly Rheinland Cruiser someone had somehow acquired. I spotted one of the Scythe fighters firing at a Chimaera, but with another Chimaera right behind him, chewing away at his shields. Banking my fighter, I gave pursuit of the trailing Chimaera, lowering its shield and taking another chunk of its hull away before it had time to spin away from the attack. Unfortunately for the pilot, he spun away from me, giving me a perfect opportunity to drop right behind his exhaust trails and blast away at the fighter. The combined firepower of myself, and another friendly Scythe dealt the fighter its death blow, right as the pilot ejected out into space.
This dogfight had taken me a few kilometers from the main engagement. Turning I surveyed the battle. It wasn't as bad as it had started out to be. That is to say, it was no longer three Kusari Destroyers, a SiN|Tech Liberty Frigate, and a fighter all after him and him alone. Already, one of the Kusari Destroyers had been destroyed by the late-arriving Rheinland Cruiser, which was already in another slugging match with the other Destroyer, strafing and returning fire in equal amounts. As I was watching, both ship's shields buckled and collapsed, and explosions began to race across both ship's hulls as heavy lasers blasted against hull plates and weapon emplacements. Suddenly, the Rheinland Cruiser exploded and I saw the SiN|Tech Frigate hanging about a kilometer and a half off, firing its huge battlerazor weaponry into the burning hulk of the cruiser.
Fortunately for us, the destroyer made a pretty foolish mistake of trying to stop a smuggler in a bomber as it was fighting us. With the bomber to reinforce us, we would be able to do alot more damage to the remaining capital ships. Another of the Kusari Destroyers blew up in a large cloud of gas, fire, and debris. Just as it was appearing the fight was nearly over, yet another destroyer exited the tradelane, along with a Bretonia Destroyer. For a quick moment I wondered why the BAF had come to assist the KNF, then I saw the C.C.E logo christened on the side of the ship.
I hit the thrusters, and was jammed into my seat as the acceleration became too much for the gravity-generator to compensate for. Flying at two-hundred meters a second, I quickly closed range to the destroyers from the KNF and C.C.E. My interference was greated by a hail of laser fire concentrated on my position. I sent my ship into a weave, with random sharp-angle turns and dodged the fire by the two destroyed, and now the Liberty Frigate.
I began my strafing runs against the ships, as I was assisted by the smuggling bomber. Suddenly the two surviving KNF Destroyed broke off and headed away at cruise. Intercepted comm transmissions showed that they were ordered to retreat back to Hiroshima and its enhanced protection, all but abandoning Akita station to the defense offered by the Liberty Cruiser, as the C.C.E Destroyer also took off. We gave two options. The surrender of the frigate.. Or its death.
It refused by opening fire on myself and the Scythe next to me. Gaining a few hits on the hull for both fighters. However, we were quickly joined by the second Scythe who had finished dueling with the remaining Chimaera.
We proved ourselves to be adept at dealing out damage, though the frigate proved itself to be more than a mere barge driver as well. With damage being dealt to both sides, that were thinned drastically from battle, losing all its ships except the three fighters against the remaining frigate, we had a small upper hand in maneuverability and firepower. The onslaught proved to be too much for the frigate to defeat, and it took off at cruise, just as a Phantom Osiris battleship arrived on the scene.
I entered the tradelane to Sigma-13 and began to head back to Bruchsal. Later I learned that shortly after my departure, one of the Scythe pilots was forced to eject as a later arrival, yet another Kusari Destroyer, arrived and shoved two capital-class missiles up its engines. Tractored in by the other Scythe, who then retreated as the destroyer turned its guns upon him.
I opened my comm channel and mentally prepared myself to give a report of the incident to my commanders...
"Shadow, I am sorry to have gotten both you and my comrades into a fuede with the Kusari fools... sorry my "friend" I shall keep to rheinland and operate against the facist government of the territory..."
Blade out...
OOC: Yeah that honshu brawl was a bunch of non RP baloney that Supernova YES supernova conned me into (you know you did buddy)... Sorry Dab that WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN...
"The Rheinland military will stop at nothing to deceive the People! Their lies and propaganda make my stomach turn! Today I attacked to Rheinland military. A fighter and a gunboat. I dispatched the fighter in mere minutes. I moved on to the gunboat. Nearly dispatched him, but the cowardly scum flew in the atmosphere at such an angle that I could not fight him without dieing... I left shortly after and returned to Luneberg...
(Killed, Erich Hartman, nearly got [RM]-Axel.Topf[Kormoran] but he hid in the fricken atmosphere....)"
Subject: Corsairs, Rheinland Military, New Berlin Brawl
After receiving reliable information about an assault force of Corsairs attacking Planet New Berlin, I made my way to the location to make the most of the situation. When I got there I encountered 3 Corsair fighters engaging a single remaining Rheinland Battleship. Realizing that if the Rheinland Battleship was destroyed first, I'd be stuck alone with three hostile Corsair fighters, I engaged the ranking pilot among them. A Titan pilot we learned later to be Maniaco. Shortly after arriving, the Rheinland Battleship disappeared and left me alone in the very situation I had wanted to avoid. My plan of dispatching one of the Corsairs first then the battleship, was torn apart.
Nevertheless, I engaged the attackers of our home, and managed to lead them near The Ring, where my superior piloting skill worked to decrease the effectiveness of their Raven's Talon pilot's maneuverability. Engaging in a three on one fight, I lost a chunk of my armor, but it was not without results. After a game of tag with the Titan, all the while being engaged by the other Corsairs as well as the local Police, I was able to get in a shot with my Sunslayer Torpedo and reduced his fighter to scrap metal. Unfortunately sources have reported that the pilot was later present on Planet Crete. Unfortunate, but theres no chance his fighter was as salvagable as he was.
Even reducing their effective firepower by a third, I was horribly outgunned from the lack of remaining torpedoes, armor repair supplies, and ammo for countermeasures and mines, as well as the loss of one of my Lugers. My fighter having sustained critical damage, I retreated to Bruchsal, where my fighter was immediately looked after to prevent any explosions from the damage done to it. I left one of the two remaining Corsairs with critical damage of his own, but the other one was able to escape serious damage. The Corsairs promptly left Rheinland space afterwards. I've sent a communique to our sponsers in the Omicrons to see about assassinating the survivors.
