"more firepower" is questionable, since their backward firepower (the one that matters most) is exactly the same. The kusari one also has weaker powercore so it actually can run out of power, something the other Yacht can't (unless you mount a GB turret).
The 75k vs 170k armor is not exactly a "small" difference either.
Anyway this is basically pointless, Zelot keeps telling me how much worse the Kusari one is and you keep telling me how much better it is.
I think they are both fine. At the same time they follow a bit different philosophy making a nice diversity and choice. So I do not intend to make bring them closer to each other.
If you like the Kusari one better, fly that one. I'm keeping my "normal" one.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
I think they would be just as diversified as they are right now, if both of them had a CD. Or neither did. Not giving it to the Yacht is just a needless nerf compared to other transports of the same general size, including the one ship most similar to it. A CD isn't exactly a big power boost for this kind of ship, it's just a feature. Why would someone build an expensive ship like the Yacht and leave out such a staple feature, which almost every other ship, of every class except dedicated supertransports, have?
The Yacht was made for running, that's the impression I got.
Who really, in their right mind, would take a Luxury Yacht into a firefight or to go pirate?
Why not take say..a ship built for combat?
The Yacht has double CM's, meaning you can carry 140 CMs in the end (2 Different types, heavy or enhanced, whatever) and fire them out quickly, meaning you will most likely always get away from your enemy.
Now, most of the time, pirates don't have to run away from those they are pirating.
CDs are also very useful when running away, I've already given examples. In addition, while the Yacht may seem to be designed for smugglers, those aren't the only people who would (in-RP) use them.
As transports go, it already is useless. 1500 cargo is a joke, it'll take forever to cover the initial investment. Adding a CD won't make it less useless in the role of a transport, it'll just be giving it a standard piece of equipment which almost all ships have, and which there is no good reason why it shouldn't have.
To be honest, as much as I want it to be better, I've had mine for quite a long time now, and I still haven't even bothered getting a gunboat turret for it. While I want it to be better, I don't really want to do anything else with it, so whatever, really.

Just to point out something here.
In RP the people who would use these vessels would be nowhere near a combat zone and if they were, they would have enough minions around them to stop any enemy they anticipated meeting.

Not to mention most GB turrets screw up your aiming. Ok, may not be that bad in a headon, but... 1000m/s and 1400 m/s is a difference. At the moment, Cerberus is the only turret with same speed.
If you want to give it something nice, ask for a Luxury Yacht Gunboat turret with lower speed, perhaps higher refire or damage, which is OoRP if mounted on some other ship.
(don't think it will happen, but this just came to my mind while typing and i wanted to get rid of it before it haunts me tonight.)
In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.
