intelligence ships, I believe here, are on such roles as U2 spy plane. Otherwise, they might be special operation crafts, used by elite pilots relying on stealthy elimination of their targets.

Maybe in infocard, when you try to scan them, all you get would be the name of the craft, without even its serial number, and then; blank on stats, infocard would just be "Scanner unable to identify target object"

This said, I believe the Bretonian have some sort of intelligence thing running again... a little MI6 of their own if I'm not wrong, judging by in forum RP.
If this could get serious enough to reach the level of LSF... well, why not?

Indeed! Spies typically run undercover and unseen. Ever see a car and say, "Hey look, a spy!" Now, there is a market for surveillance type ships that would fit in perfectly here. I think we should make out the difference between individual spying agents and surveillance teams/scouts.

hmyeah. I think Vape/people here are confusing spy on the James Bond sense of the term, and "spy" as in, intelligence agent.

*Facepalm*

The intention of these ships is to serve as intelligence gathering vessels

as yue put it, like the U2 Spyplane or the modern Predator drones

not combat vessels

hence, the Phantasm is not going to be designed with firepower and armor in mind, but with stealth and speed (nonethless im going to give it locations for concealed guns)

Exactly Vape, speed, endurance, maneuverability. Not really made for fighting, but running away if chased.

Yue, that ship model is Motto Bella!

Honestly, I don't think its necessary. Sure, it'd be cool, everyone likes fancy ships, but lets think of RP.

Each House would inevitably learn of their counter-parts' sneaky equivalent - if not by espionage, then by seeing some unknown ship with encrypted data streaming back and forth in the foreign house's design skulking in the dark corners of a system.

It'd certainly be cool though, but I say nay.

Militarily speaking, they're an intelligence service, they don't need anything bigger than fighters and bombers...

That's my opinion.

I'll try to explain more...

If they're an Military Intelligence Service that would mean they would (realistically speaking) want to focus on small crafts, if they needed support they would rely on their respective nations' Naval forces to pull them out of the heat or cover their rears if it got too tough. As far as I'm concerned though, if they are an intelligence service they should have small crafts as their main mission is to gather intelligence to pass onto the Military combat forces, not fight the war themselves.

Regarding the LSF having its own ship or even line of ships, I would say not to waste your time. Yea it would be nice to have, but we wouldnt need them. When we go out to collect information/intellegence, trust me, you dont even know we are there. The way we look at it is if we are seen then its mission failed.....or rather if we are using our LSF tagged/id/iff ship. When we arent using our regular ship, you will never know its us. Concerning the ship itself, I highly doubt we would do intellegence operations in it. I believe it would end up screaming LSF if that were the case. Unfortunately, I cant say the specific ships we use while gathering intellegence:P

Oh yea, I voted no cause of it ending up as a liberty ship(just for the LSF that is). As for the other houses, they could possibly use another ship or two. Maybe the Privateers could get their own little ship line....

BISdoesn't need it's own shipline, we use other peoples. the boys and girls are doing wonders right now with their intelligence gathering *looks at the MD* I may have to kick them some more.

But the Intelligence services really don't need their own shiplines yet, we have other folks crying out for ships. And these folks may actually need them.
