Aye, but not all Freelancers are lawful. So a Freelancer tag would work, I didn't think about that until just now actually.

You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark. Roleplay is dead. Long live Powertraders and PvP I guess.

dang... that's what I already had on my SC char before getting the Junker tag. haha
But really, it's quite easy these days to get a Freelancer tag; just kill Freelancer NPC's to get your rep down and then double bribe them at Barrier Gate Station.
Right but you can't have a Freelancer faction if I'm not mistaken.. (could be wrong there, need some clarification)
Also I have to agree wholeheartedly with Tinkerbell here, you would have a lot of competition with both the Junkers and the Hogosha. The Black Dragons are very territorial and we don't allow smugglers in our territory unless they pay for the privilege. Your other disadvantage with the Hogosha if you are working with the Junkers is simply that, you're a friend of the Junkers and could therefore expect way more hostility from us.
I agree with the idea of maybe basing off of Freeports. Would work perfectly as it would allow any potential customers full access to your operation. Everyone is welcome on Freeports no matter who they are (for the most part), and Freeports are everywhere. That would allow you the neutrality and the accessibility you need to run a successful non-affiliated smuggling operation.

I've never seen anything to that effect, and there's an official Mercenary faction (there were two, I believe). The only rule along those lines that I can recall was that Freelancer and other generic ID factions can't own a system.

Maybe.. I can't really remember for sure, just thought I'd heard something along those lines. If that's the case I would think freelancer would be a good ID for you.
Tink said what I would have, just better as he created the faction I'm now running into the ground. :P
The thing about the whole Salvage Frigate fiasco is that it's a Junker Family ship. Basically, a pure Junker vehicle that's an heirloom and not sold freely to outsiders. Like the Blood Dragon ships and the like; Junkers see one of those in the hands of a non-Junker and the thought process would go like this:
"Hey, that's the Beaumont Betty's Backside! But that's not Vinnie and his sons flying i-"
(a moment of dawning horror)
"...no one's heard from Vinnie in recent weeks, have they? These guys are in for it now."
And Rudo, no worries. It was my mistake really not reading the Infocard in the first place, which I should have done.

EDIT: Document updated with the SCRA as hostile, as well as a few things added to the Smugglers code, including the part about being banned from the server for any period of time.
EDIT2: Also sharpened a few things such as the location of our Home Base (Unoffical) and removed our "alliance" with the NPC Junkers and moved it to Freelancers.

I like the Freelancer and freeport changes--even though I suggested them (I'm really proud of how humble I am).
Gallic end is still there as well for inclusion or incorporation. There was a post way back that said freelancers can't be a faction but I really don't see why they couldn't. Love Rudo's analogy on the salvager--he's exactly right too.
Sounds like a plan and I think you are doing fine Rudo. I miss my bship though..sniff...sniff...cry.

Shoulda handed over the account ID! :P
(off-topic)
I dunno. I tried a different direction with the faction for a bit, found too many forces pulling too many ways and now it's a Congress again. I'm writing up a basic conduct manual to act as a guideline for the Congress. Once that's done I'll make sure everyone goes over it and then let them have full reign of the sandbox.
There used to be a joke that 4.85 would be released before I got it done. That joke is no longer funny. :(
