So I tangle myself up with the BAF, who appropriately surround me and allow a couple Ensigns to have their practice on me. Well the battles is fully underway and what do I notice.....the KNF are busy with the one Junker or "Gaijin" asking him questions and all. So back to the BAF squadron having fun picking me apart slowly only 20 some K away. Well in it I managed to type out in chat to "come in the direction of Leeds quick!" but it didn't seem to get noticed in the argument that evolved between the handful of KNF it took to keep that one smuggler in control meanwhile not far away I am left with only a sliver of hull and no where to run as I was surrounded. Tiring of their little game the BAF finnished me off and put me out of my misery and I can only hope that those KNF went back to Kusari with more than just a single Junker as their trophy.
I remember this, I was wondering why the hell you are attacking us alone :lol: I've left the work to the ensigns, and these KNF got engaged later by Molly/BAF force, which reminds me of my fail, just a while after this.
Because of uneven numbers, I stayed out of the fight and watched the fight (it was near Stokes), when I got bored of shouting random RP lines while watching, I alt-tabbed for a second. When I came back, only thing I could see was respawn window, damned NPC patrol shot me :angry:
With in the first week on the server a player named Warum said he would pay me 2mil if I escorted him out to Omicron Theta so that he could buy the Eagle. I had never had more then 200K and a ship that reflected that. He was in a weak cheep ship as well. Neither of us had been farther then Texas. 6 hours and many deaths later and we finally arrived at the base.
Things I learned.
1) Radiation Sucks
2) NPC CD spamming sucks while you are in radiation
3) Enemy NPC's will kill you faster in radiation
4) Omicron is a dangerous place for 2 ships that don't belong there

A day or so later i started a trader. I soon vowed that when I got enough money I would create a player that was strictly devoted to destroying all pirates (because I hated them) at no cost to traders ...... The first faction I joined you wonder .... "The Lane Hackers" .....
I remember when I was hanging out with Phate outside Mactan in my Hacker Gunship when some random guy just darts in and docks without permission.
I went to get some chocolate milk and when I came back Phate something (I wasn't exactly paying attention) to the guy and I saw the trespasser undock.
Phate then said "Incindre clean up that mess" and I obligingly destroyed him in a second
I was quite pleased with my work until Phate yells "WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT! I WAS LETTING HIM GO!"
And I said, "But you told me to clean up the mess, I thought you were refering to him as he isn't supposed to be here!" Phate headdesked and explained that he wanted me to destroy the nanobots and excess cargo left over from when he killed the guy while I was getting my chocolate milk.
I apologised to the guy and then spent 10mins shooting nanobots and bits of scrap metal. :$
Of course this is nothing to the various n00bery I committed in the server for the first month, but I'm not going into that unless you insert 20 more cents. :D
A friend and I were once looking to join the wilds. Not knowing that you applied for factions online, we flew into omega 55 with our gunboats and started asking one of the Das Wilde how to join. He took advantage of the opportunity and said that we had to chose from one of three missions to join.
The missions we took was to transport a load of artifacts to alpha, and sell them at malta. For some reason or another the Corsairs did not like kusari and rheinland gunboats in their space.
So once managed to escape with the artifacts, we took the long route through the sigmas then through kusari. We had one kusari officer try to make us drop our cargo but we did not comply (why he tried to stop 2 gunboats IDK). He threatened to report us to the LPI and the LNS, but we were not going to liberty. So we made it look like we were then we turned around and headed for the tau systems.
Once we made it to alpha there was an OC cap ship just sitting there scanning the cargo of incomers. My friend happened to be the first one through the JH. Unaware, I also jumped. We ran to the cloud on the other side of the system to hide. While we were in that cloud we devised a plan to get the artifacts to malta. My friend whent and distracted the cap while I docked and sold the artifacts. The cap was not pleased.
Later the next day, I did my research on the forums (one of my first visits to the forums), only to find that to join the wild you had to have an admin's permission.
While I was fighting a LPI liberiator with my sabre (Bellerophon-F), A slaver liner engaged me for support, so I returned his fire back ... but it seems there were no need. He ran into Z21 minefield 20 seconds later.

I used to fly a Raven Claw.... with all level 6 guns.
I used to fly a Raven Claw.... with chainguns.
I used to use that Raven Claw.... to farm Xenos in Colorado. (Heck, that's how I got my seed money to get started here on Disco:P)
I once traded.....in a CSV.
While flying a Raven Claw, I got pwned by a Xeno. Don't remember what the Xeno was flying. ....it was also a 2 on 1 fight. Against the Xeno.
I flew into a dogfight with my textbox open, and while trying to type out some RP, I got kaboomed.
I was first to go down in a 3 on 2 fight... with the odds in my favor... and was later told I was "easiest to hit.":(
Although I never did the OORP power-trading Diamonds-Niobium route in 4.84, I did do another OORP route: Gate/Lane Parts through Kusari (and later, FROM Kusari) to the gate construction site in Tau 23. I donno how many times I did that before I realized how OORP it was.
Anyway. I've also encountered various examples of fail on other people's parts... mainly pirates failing at piracy. Most recently, I had a farmer in a VHF follow my Firefly all the way to that battleship outside LD-14. (I forget its name) He had demanded I drop my cargo. After we got to the battleship, he ran to LD14 and demanded money to get by him. I gave him the RP equivalent of an lolwut.:PI will say this for him though: he was pretty good at CDing me. I can usually get away from single CDs. Not this guy though!:P
Other pirate fail: Another VHF stopped my Firefly. When I tried to bargain down his price he shot a torpedo at my shields. Seeing he had no CD, I got away.

Third day on the server, I waltzed my LN tagged, Freelancer ID'd Eagle into Omicron Gamma expecting an easy run into Crete to buy some guns.
I was blown up after undocking from Crete. Forgot to buy countermeasures, made it to Omega-41 when a gunboat CD'd me and robbed me of 1 million.
Another time, I did exactly the same thing, just passing through this time, and sweated for ten minutes while a huge battleship locked onto me and demanded to know what I was doing there.
Ah... the good old innocent, oorp days. :rolleyes:
