Just to make it clear - the name of the our sleeper ship is Hispania, hence the name of the faction.
An faction being called Hispanic would be the same as if was called Ebonic, either Asian i.e. there would be a great deal of racial nature in the name and I myself wouldn't ever joined such faction.
That is somewhat true, regarding the Hispania part. Still it has charm in it and we like it that way.
Armored, on the other hand gives it an military echo (like US 3rd Armored division in WWII for instance), and that is what we RP - an military faction. Our purpose is to fight enemies and defend our home systems. We do not tax traders.
There have been mistakes made in the recent past (some of them sounded really nasty) which resulted with miss-understandings. This thread was made in order to prevent those in the future as much as possible.
Fine fine, call yourselves whatever you want, but when people make a mistake and call you Hispanic instead of Hispania, you cant just go around calling them racists. Some people, especially those who are in fact not racist, find it very upsetting to be called racist. Dont do it.
Note: I've learned in school to call people with Hispanian background Hispanics. If you want to complain about me now, please complain at the Kultusministerium. There's decided what i learn and what not.

I understand what you refer too and it was my intention to clear this out.
Most of us players don't know each other in RP and when something that sounds that ugly comes out in public channel there is no other way to understand it.
It is an ugly thing to call someone racist but there was no name mentioned in that remark. Yet, one of the many people in the system instantly recognized himself in that remark and took it as an insult. So, at the moment it seemed pretty clear to us.
And the ''Hispanic'' incident was just one in the series of the very serious insults aimed at us, so what were we supposed to think?
Still, I would like to apologize to person in question as it is an ugly thing to call someone that and I will do that in person first time I get an opportunity.
Point of the RP (as I see it) is to escape for a moment from all those troubles and filth all of us have to deal with in our day-to-day lives. It just feels bad when you start to believe that all that filth found it's way to this better, purer, alternative world of ours.
