Hes right, they should definitely lose the CD's. I'm still puzzled why spa and cruise have CDs.

Some Spa and cruise escort Hawks have wasp cds.

Yep - I'm all for nerfing them.


Reasons why? They are tedious anyway - They behave in ways that are completely stupid most of the time. It is extremely frustrating to have to waste good possible Role playing time on NPCs which take an insane amout of time to kill.


And i've said it before, i'll say it again... Nerf the Freelancers. I actually hate them so much i take them out when im in my admin character..... i know its not real, but they annoy me so much i just love seeing them go down.

I'm for nerfing them to Freelancers hate me and have driven me mad since they have been there. I think they have to much effect on player interactions I would be against losing them completely but I'd definetely like them to lose Cds and Armour multipliers.

It would be boring without them sometimes but those freelancer grrrr.

Second, Mjolnir, you're my hero. I concurr with everything you've said thus far and wont bother these other people with reiterations. Baltar is also loved.

Oh yes. We dropped SP, why not make a mandantory 'vaccine' for all new citizens of Sirius that causes the immune system to attack your motor nerves and cerebellum (please, don't correct my anatomy, it'll just make you look like you've run out of counter-points). That was a generalized "you". Anyways, if any NPC besides a FL takes you "So long to kill, *siiiggh*" then I recommend a revisitation to learning how to fly. A trigger helps this cause as well.

For being so, "OMGRP!" why the deuce are we wanting to kill the other 99.98% of our lovely little alcove here? They do everything that players do. They disrupt you, they kill you, they put shields on their caps and they even do you the courtesy of flying in predictable patterns and shooting less than you! The only thing they don't do is talk, and marvelously, thats because they're blocks of code! Excuse the lolwutting, but wtf guys?

If a trader gets disrupted, he's in House space theoretically... Otherwise he's using Nomad lanes and deserves to die (or Gallian lanes). If you honestly get killed trying to pay a tax by a pair or quartet of Bloodhounds, I really must question whether or not these 60-some votes for "YUSLUL!" are flying Rhino's during their outings. "Oh... Oh em jeh... Hai, can u turn down ur Drails pl0x? Kthnxbai". I've lost faith in this community if thats the case.

Shields on caps, alright - drop those. Whatever.
Train CD's, hey, if the hundred plus people don't want their monotonous trade routes interrepted as if *gasp* a player were doing it, whatever - I can at least dodge, weave, and get away without cruiser if I need to. Kill that too.

Need I point out the irony in this statement and the argument of the side he supports? Eight player Corsairs can kill you, heck even three Nephthys' killed one of you. Incidentally, it makes sense that (RP in mind, since we are the epitomy of RP here at Disco) "other people" could do the same.

Anyways, I wont bother bringing up the fact that the Order gets cap-whored every day, be they by a single BH Dessie and 2 Barracuda's patrolling, or by a Nomad GB (though I haven't seen one in a while) or any other group that's been there for the last TWO YEARS I've played this game. Although I suppose I just did.

Crikey, I've found no legitimate reason in all of this rediculous thread besides, "Oh, well golly... See, it'd sure make my life awful swell. And more convenient! Oh me oh my, think of how much power trading (replace with the appropriate action) I could get done in the extra four minutes of my escape!"

This would probably be one of the most ooRP decisions this community could make.

On traders specifically:

One can be disrupted from cruise. Which means...The first sentence makes no sense.
For the rest of it, we're quite often talking about NPCs...well, other than mkI fighters.

One -can- get away on thrust. Except, the NPCs then often cruise to catch up. There's a large difference between losing ones cargo to a player, then to an NPC. Moreover, you've said you detest trading, so why does it matter what you think about how trading is done? People who detest trading (or any other aspect of what is a game, and meant to be entertaining,) should not be affecting how that is done, no matter how long you've played here. This being a game, our goal is to make every aspect as fun as possible, yes? NPCs with TCD are frustrating. This is a multiplayer game. If I enjoyed PVE, I'd be playing single. For that matter, your opinions here have made me wonder whether you value PVE more than players.

Starting from the bottom up, no I don't value PvE more than players, I value RP over a handful of community members griping over an inconvenience. Part of RP here is considering yourself as a part of the game, yes? So why, pray tell, should you be some miracle child set free to roam the sector while everybody suffers from a case of lepracy and cerebral decay? I'd think other miracle children doctors would be harvesting you to find a cure. I highly, highly doubt they people of Sirius will lend anybody who can wiggle a joystick a ship that costs thousands of credits, thus by nerfing NPCs you're putting - essentially - an idiot in the most literal sense possible in the chair.

As I've said before, though something seems to fail along the lines of reading, processing, and replying, my opinion is biased so I really couldn't care less what affects traders and what reforms they want to make to better their lives. Going on the failure to process, I also said nothing about my time here in relation to trading. I referenced my experience regarding cap-whores and being dock-killed (or at least dock, take down 3/4 of your shield engaged) for the last two years by NPCs out of Toledo, thus making Derk's point moot. "Oh, so dock killing is okay?" Say he, "Aye," say I, "Nothing that hasn't been happening. Next?"

Been through the Taus. Have a pair of IMG there. Lovely place. No problems killing Sabres in a Spatial, it shouldn't be a problem in something with 50% less surface area.

Been through Theta. The Hunters are as annoying as they've always been. If you're in a fighter and get disrupted, its nothing new. If you get disrupted in a freighter, welcome to the Fighter's shoes. An innocent mission shouldn't exclude money makers from the Hunters' agenda. Really though, disruptions shouldn't bother people just because they're in a bigger ship.

I'm not up to date on my Omega's, but the primary ones between Gamma and the Gran Canaria place - been there. Done that. Woulda gotten a T-Shirt if the Zoners weren't hooked on jumpsuits.

...maybe I'm crazy, but it seems like you're saying that we shouldn't fight something because it's part of the environment? As I see it, we, the players, control the environment (and we do, if we didn't this discussion wouldn't be happening). This is OUR game, not the NPCs, and right now they're lending a little too much to the environment. I don't know about you guys, I'm here to RP with players, not NPCs.

Magoo got out of bed and didn't eat his weet-bix, it makes him grouchy.

He does make good points however.


That being said, i stand by my opinion, as it was that: my opinion. Counter argue all anyone wants, its still my opinion.


I find the NPC's tedious, i don't come here to Role Play with them - i come here to Role Play with other players, and yes, while their presence does add a certain ambience and a "bigger picture" feel to the game as a whole, i wouldn't like them... gone... i just would like to not have to deal with them for as long as i do have to sometimes.

Go back to flying school? whatever, everyone knows that i can't hit the side of a barn door... I can kill most NPCs, but thats not the point, its that i feels its a waste of time, tedious and pointless really.... Especially when they show up in packs of however many they show up in...

And thats before we even get to the Freelancers - they are the adonai of the NPC world, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, eat every single one of your missiles with a boisterous chuckle and swing around for more!, fire your weapons until your batteries are dead and he's still grinning his cheesy grin in his battleship masquerading as an eagle....

As i said, just my opinion, if it isn't changed, whatever i can live with it.
