I went from 2 basic missiles to one in .85 because of the energy drain. I will say that they do hit very seldom but when they do it is lolable. Solaris FTW!

Fighter jocks complain missiles are "too strong."



Gunboat/Gunship pilots complain that missiles are "too weak."



I think that (And I can't back this up since a new update just came out, and i've yet to use a gunboat with a missile since then), missiles are fine as they are, besides maybe they need a bit of a reduction in energy costs. Not too much, but just a little.



See, when a gunboat/gunship fires a missile, the fighter gets an "incomming missile" warning. This causes the fighter/bomber to stop what they are currently doing, and dodge like mad. Sure, the missile might not hit them, but you have just sucessfully bought yourself some time in order to better position yourself with your normal turrets. I see missiles as more of a defensive tactic, not some "insta kill pwn all fighter/bomber" weapon. Missiles can hit occasionally, and when they do, they definetely hurt. Mostly though, it is a tool to throw that bomber who is about to take a shot at you with his SNAC off of his game.

Can't you state something a bit more constructive? Did you not read my previous post? You may think they need to hit more, but you must be talking from the GB prespective. Try fighting a GB in a VHF/bomber, and tell me afterwards they need to "hit more."

When they get the missile warning all you have to do is fire a cd at the gb and the splash will take out the missile. It is pretty easy to overcome.

Seriously? GB missiles hit constantly now. Flick your CMs on, do some spirals, and all of the sudden you still get a splash of energy across your hull. They're borderline too easy to hit with now. Energy cost is the only thing that stops them from being spammed now. With one missile, you can still just about fire one every pass.

Leave them alone.

my gunboat missiles NEVER seem to hit. they might be just doing miner splash damage, but it really seems like they dont hit. of course. i say this from the perspective of one who fights with GB missiles more then fights against them.

Muahaha, GB missiles are the best missiles when it comes to hitting fighters in the game.
