Well I'm sure many of you have wished many times that you could turn off the red server messages.
Personally I find it a huge detriment to RP, especially making forum RP reports and such.

I don't want to be obliged to spend two hours editing pictures after RPing ingame for two hours.

Last night the CR and Benitez had a nice event, full of awesome RP, lasting two hours, even had an article in The Discoverer, made RP reports in each others' message dumps, etc. etc.

And after doing all that ingame, I had to go edit 42 pictures, combine the text, spend two hours in paint editing and merging all the text, (last post in http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...060&st=140# ) , and all cause of the red server message spam of 200 players leaving and logging on all the time.
One picture could fit at most 4 lines of RP, and personally I find that appalling.

That's one thing the US Disco server has more over this one, cause of much less players I can RP for more than half an hour and fit it all into one screenshot.

So please, please oh please, tell me if it's possible to make them go away, preferably it being a matter of choice, a FL Hook command perhaps that blocks server messages like that.

Couple of Notes:

- Yes, I do know there were already threads about this. And no, I couldn't find them via the search function.

- Yes, I do know those messages are needed for proving rule breaking, and that's why I said I'd prefer it being optional.

So?

Thank you.

And does anyone know how the last thread about this ended up? Is such a thing as this possible?

I think so, because you can change the diemsgs. But I compleatly agree with this! I couldn't care less about the outcast who died...

Come on! Be free!

You can already remove death messages from outside the system via a command (I believe). It would be quite nice if the same could be applied to logging in/out messages, I guess...

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that New player/departing player were built into the base code of the server engine and unmodifiable.

Please tell me I misheard in this manner and that we can make an option for getting rid of them.

I believe this is possible via FLHook. Hell, most stuff is.

Also, yay 1500 posts.

I PMed Cannon asking about it. Hopefully he'll have the time to tell me/us if it can be done. I sure know a lot of us'd appreciate it if it could be done.
