Good day pirates, Rogues, Hackers, Outcasts and the occasional Junker.

I come to you with a humble request. Please could you stay out of and stop pirating at the following trade lanes:
  • Manhattan Fort Bush
  • Manhattan West Point
Why am I asking this?

I ask this because all I have seen when I log in is a gunship or two, with or without a Barghest or some other powerful fighter in tow. They just sit there and pirate or 'PvP-lure' people to get their own way, and their own kicks. This is bad people. That is one sided roleplay.

While I am willing and even enjoy the odd pirate fight with my Sentinels, but fighting so close to a House capitol planet is just pure non-sense. That's like holding up a truck convoy on a Freeway just outside Washington D.C. It just doesn't happen.

On any other lane, I can understand, near the Pittsburgh is the debris fields, near the West Point Missouri lane is the illustrious Bad Lands. But camping outside of a capital planet's lanes where it is the heart of an empire is just plain silly. Even OORP in my opinion.

We and by that I mean the LPI, Navy and LSF I hear stay the hell away from Rochester and Buffalo unless there is a darned good reason. Its only fair and sportsmanlike.

I think this can also be echoed in any House system too. There are places to pirate away from such a proximity to a capitol planet.

I ask for some common sense and restraint. I know you need to feed your kids, but staying so close to the House planets will mean they'll be orphans.

This is Fletcher, a player talking to the community.

This is an OORP request to people on how they play in RP.

The NPC's pirate those lanes, right? Small strike forces may go unnoticed.

EDIT: Deleted the message to Recoil, Fletcher beat me to it.

EDIT: A Gunboat with fighters is not a "strike force" in my book. Bombers and fighters shouldn't cause fuss. (Thanks Jamez)

Fighters I can let slip by for that reasoning, but bombers paired up with gunships and gunboats I cannot abide by however.

Being close to a capital planet should mean you are being tracked, not withing the operational ways of a pirate who needs ambush to their advantage.

Rhh, call me one sided, but there is a reason Del told us never to go pirate on those lanes. By doing so it is like BEGGING to be attacked. And yes, even tho game mechanics won't allow, if you get so close, everyone inclooding that old cat ladie with the ground orbital cannon on her back yard will shoot you.

But, no, do you know how many times I have to undock to see a (indie) LPI, LSF or LN sitting near Rochester, Beamount, Buffalo or Alcatraz? Quite much, even a BC or two, but that's not the point.

Thing is everyone understands RP and "normalities/fairplay" in their own way...it is just understandable if there are a few idiots who will just do **** for the lulz of it.

Sindroms, just for you, may it brighten your day (these are found in the Factionalized LPI training manual):

Training Lesson by: LPI Deputy Chief Hull O'Brian

Re: Training for new officers.

Subject: Lesson 12. Junker bases.

In the interests of safety of our officers, and continued good relations with the Junkers, all LPI officers are ordered to stay at least 5K from these bases. If a perp is headed there, get guncam photos and the LPI Command will forward them on to the Junkers. If A Junkers Congressman is in system, alert them that said perp is heading for their home. Once on board either of these bases, the perp is under their jurisdiction.

End of Lesson

and

Training Lesson by: LPI Deputy Chief Hull O'Brian

Re: Training for new officers.

Subject: Lesson 13. Debris Fields, the Badlands, and radiation clouds

In the interest of the safety of our personnel, do not enter the badlands more than 2 or 3K, it is too dangerous to go any further than that. Also, don't stray more than 2 or 3K from the Pennsylvania gate/Ithaca area.

Debris fields: use your judgment. If you think You are going to get ambushed, pull back until help arrives.

As for the Dark matter / particle clouds in the New York / Texas systems, don't go in very far. The Liberator doesn't have enough shielding to protect you.

A good rule is if you can't see very well, stay out of it.

Thanks for that Hack, I knew it was written down somewhere.

We as in RP, stay out of debris fields, badlands and dark matter clouds.

I'd like the pirates to mirror this in reverse, stay out of capital planet sight at least...
