RE: HAF

while i was out on patrol in Tau 23 i came across a Corsair named [TURANIC]Greyscale who claimed that Java was not restricted to him and that he hassles any trader, miner and transport that doesnt come to Java and that he was hunting Outcasts.

after talking to him i got a request for assisstance from the Colonial Remnant to take out an Outcast destroyer named The_Hellraiser in Tau-37 and unfortunatly for me the Corsair tagged along. suffice to say with relative ease the Destroyer was taken out and i fallen back to Java but on the way back the Corsair said that i clearly needed help despite my ship takening very little damage, a full armament and a full supply of bats and bots which annoyed me.

a short time later a fellow miner came along to help me explain Edict 63 which had very little progress as the Corsair carried on ignoring our reasoning that he can easily place himself at Holman or Freeport 10 both of which are just one system away (with Freeport 10 being even closer to Outcasts) but he just ignored us.

To add insult to us he also docked at Java while we was still telling him that he cannot do such a thing and after a bunch of gloating from him he said that if we tried forcing him off the station or out of the system then he "would bring the entire HAF fleet into the system, so how would you like that". He clearly seemed loopy from the start and was also enforced by saying he was a "rogue amongst his people" despite also claiming "i am an Elder!" "i am Elder Grescale!!"

shortly after he got off the comm's a HAF commander opened communications with me which i shall enclose the blackbox log

as you can see the convosation ended rather abruptly as he didnt see to respond at all after the last reply.

Endeavour out.

Subject: Competition

Today would have been a day like any other. I loaded my mining ship fresh with supplies to trek it out to the Omega-49 Niobium field. However, when I reached there, I saw three unidentified mining vessels, working the field we toiled so greatly to secure for ourselves! They claimed to be working for a new "Corporation"...
And that the Zoners gave them permission to work the field just like any common hobo would. This is outrageous. We held our breath, scrutinizing every detail of our new agreement with the Zoners before submission, only to receive this slap in the face. I, for one, do not feel that we should stand for this. A short snippet of the long and heated conversation between me and the other pilots follows:

Clearly, something needs to be done. I'll leave that to the higher-ups to decide.

Sir,

I wish to report a disturbing sighting of [TURANIC]Greyscale in Tau 23.

For the maiden voyage of the IMG Ranger, Spatial-class explorer, I decided to shakedown both the ship and my new four man crew by mapping out the Tau 44 and 39 systems. I am proud to report that both ship and crew performed admirably. We were on our way back to Java to update the Guild's navigation map database when we encountered Mr. Greyscale.

His ship was located roughly 2.5K from the station. My scanner tech brought his presence to my attention and I ordered a detailed scan of his vessel. This was under way and I was in the process of hailing his ship when it vanished right before our eyes! We were absolutely astounded and Flannigan, my engineer, uttered a series of oaths more foul than the engine grease under his nails.

I ordered the helmsman to abort the dock procedure he had initiated and we changed course to the spot where we saw the ship. Scanners detected nothing and I ordered an orbit of Java at a distance of approximately 3K from the station, sensors set to maximum. Again, however, we found nothing and decided to dock with Java. I ordered the scanner tech to upload the navigational updates while I used the comm. system to file this report.

Keep your eyes open out there mates!

J. Raynor, Commander IMG Ranger, Spatial-class

Persons of the IMG, Fear not because I have once again saved the day. While hovering about the Dublin Jump Hole, located in Leeds, I had come across a bizarre reading on my radar. Quickly the crew manned gunnery post and we proceeded to fallow the signal to the source. Upon arriving, we noticed the insignia on the port hull of the vessel marked, "San Vincente." However, it was a small stiletto fighter. And the outcast inside had rotted and decomposed. The vessel was then towed to Hood where it underwent analysis.
After carefully examining it's contents, we have discovered that the ship had a plentiful amount of h-fuel. The issue came when we examined that the core components of the ship had been damaged by a leak in the reactor cavity positioned directly in front of the cockpit. An interesting concept, probably more cardimine influenced than anything else really.
In the end, we gained valuable information about the design of the Outcast ship.

Gentlemen.

Please be careful when mining in Omega 49, we don't want to lose anyone. If possible, have a defence bomber or fighter accompany you.

Thanks,

Syana

TO: The Guild
FROM: Goldwell, I
RE: Survey of Orkney

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Having recently received reports of several mining deposits in the system of Orkney, I decided to carry out a survey of the system with regards to the feasibility of setting up mining operations within.

Now, the primary concern here is access. Orkney has but one entrance open to us, that from Tau-23. This means that anyone entering the system has to pass through but one jump hole. While this may seem beneficial to us in terms of monitoring access to the system, no doubt several other parties have realised this, too (Cf. Outcasts). As such, there is a potential for the area within the immediate vicinity of the hole to become a warzone, something which could be highly detrimental to our operations in the system. We will have to rely on our stalwart defence wings to hold off any potential threats.

Speaking of defence wings, we come to the question of hostile presence in the system itself. Rumors run rife of a base constructed by the Outcasts. Now, while these rumors cannot be verified, the intensity of Outcast activity leads me to believe that there may be some substance to them, and, as such, I would recommend that our defence wings be on high alert whilst in the system.

Other interested parties include the Gaians. While mapping the system, I came across an anomaly which corresponded to a jump hole to a region of space which Bretonia's database classifies as "high risk, Gaian-controlled territory". To this point, we have yet to encounter major opposition from any Gaian movements, and I would prefer it to remain that way. As such, I strongly advise no one to use the jump hole labeled on your nav maps as "Lewis".

Now, our holdings. Dounby, our sole base in the system, is a rather well-hidden installation. It is an effective place to house our non combatant elements such as families, etc, as well as a possible place to conduct further research into new mining techniques and equipment.

Next, resources. This is, of course, our primary interest in any region into which we expand. This system contains many planets, however, none of them appear to yield anything of value. Scans of the gas giant "Sanday" are, as of yet, inconclusive, but I believe we can write the rest off as unusable. Asteroid mining in the system is sparse. The field around Dounby, named "Westray" contains minor deposits of Copper. The yield here is not sufficient to mount large scale operations, although I do believe smaller scale operations out of Dounby are meeting with limited success. The other asteroid field in the system, named "Stronsay" apparently yields some kind of resources, however, strong Outcast presence in the field prevented me from ascertaining exactly what and how much.

Finally, our neighbors. Doubtless, we have all heard about the new peoples referring to themselves as "Gallians". They have constructed a base in the system named "Reunion". There also appears to be a jump hole located further into the previously impassable minefield leading to their home systems. My advice would be that, until we manage to establish exactly what we are getting in to, our pilots refrain from using this jump hole or proceeding into their space.

Thus concludes the survey of Orkney so far. I shall attempt to keep you up to date with any new developments therein.

-Goldwell, I, Director of Mining.

ATTENTION!!
All members and Employe's of IMG, the following evidence is very concerning and scary.
I have here a few photo's I've taken while in the Cambridge sector. These are of a German Battleship scouting the sector, I dont know if there was a wargames aggrement with the local goverment or not, but I didnt see and of there warships in the area. I'll let the photo's speak for its self.

I do not beleive thiinformation is somthing to be alarmed about, as the IMG has a somewhat neutral relationship with the Rheinland Government and military. I will however notify the Bretonian officials of this incident as they are likely to be displeased about battleships using Bretonia as thoroughfare to flank Liberty lines..

//Ok, I think it's time to fix this dump up a bit - some members are posting in the original colour coding while others are not putting colours at all. From this point onwards, DO NOT set message dump posts to your division colours as it says on the first page. Other than that message dump format is unchanged. This will just make things easier and less hard on the eyes, especially when it comes to reading defense division posts.
