Minor problem, and one we have had come up before ... 'Freelancer' and 'Faction' really don't go together
in the same sentence. Loose confederation of Freelancers may be closer to the truth, otherwise you are
just Zoners really.
The nature of Freelancers is to quietly get on with as many people as possible, taking profit when and
where they can, and not rocking the political boat, certainly not trying to take over a chunk of Sirius.
So, back to the drawing board please, as there is currently little chance of this concept flying, certainly
where claiming systems are concerned.

ok first i would like to say that with the help of the feedback on this thread, the clan will indeed be Zoners.
secondly, there seems to be some confusion over what im after, well its simple. im after nothing...i think people skim read over the part where i said;
' Wrote:Eventually we will be seen to converge on a sector of space and claim it by might (this is around the time i should consider making the faction official)
im not asking for special treatment or to be given sectors, im talking about roleplaying a faction that moves to an area and 'tries to claim it'...pure roleplay aspect.
some of my critics seem to assume that this is all written in ston and its either a yes or no. Its only a plot idea for me and a few others to run with at this time, i only added the details of system takeover to add direction to the plot.
im not even trying to make it an official faction yet, if im completely honest the only reason i wrote about it in the first place is the simple civility of following the faction creation advice and writing a rough draft asap on the forum so the admins have a date to reference for inception.
so if ive stood on any toes writing this then all i can say is chill pls, im only in the early stages no need to get so serious =p
Hoodlum, lol your telling me! EQ is much harder to run a clan;)naw just kidding mate, was just background info to show im not a total noOb =)

I'd personaly suggest you get a little bit more 'discovery experience'. To me, this looks like 'Ahz new, want to rule summut lol'. And if that's the case, it's doomed to fail. 95% sure.

Just a tip.
agreed. you might want to join another player faction or two to see how they work, and how they roleplay.

Slightly off topic, but I had an idea for a Freelancer faction that was basically a group that loosely banded together to get more jobs (why hire one when you can hire twenty?), but I never bothered going anywhere with it other than the initial planning.
I think if you want to fill the Freelancer faction "gap", that's the way to go.
Do you have a player base that is willing to commit because when I tried to start (IA) The Independent Army of the Tau's; I was struck that no one wanted to join. I had one person say "Yes." and he just left.
My point is, if it is going to work, it can't be a solo job. Please tell us you have some people willing to go with you!
