Rheinland Military Leadership

Simply put: I declare myself no longer in charge of the Rheinland Military [RM] faction. I have a few things I wish to finish as Chancellor, but after that... I will transfer ownership of said position.

I have thought long and hard about this decision and it was not an easy one to make. I have been running this faction (as far as I can tell) since I was fourteen years of age. It has been a full three years, by now. I've been running the oldest faction for longer than any other faction on this server has existed. I've been leading [RM] since before our scary Mr. Hoodlum even dreamed of being an Admin. It is time for fresh blood to take over and lead this faction into the future. My further involvement as leader will likely only lead to stagnation and a reduction in members. I've seen more members come in and out of the Rheinland Military, seen many a folk become real respected members of this community under my flag. My regime is over, folks.

I have had nothing but pride serving as leader of this faction for so long. I have come close to a few members that I might be willing to trust them with my very life:

Caylith isn't around much anymore, but I remember her as a "wee" little [Angel] named Silvara. Noob who didn't even know how to engine kill... Taught her everything I knew, trained her to be a pilot, trained her a bit to be a leader and she fell in love with Rheinland. She was my righteous hammer of fury.

DBoy... Stole all of my kills, the bastard. He single-handedly ran this faction when I was unwilling. He was a hell of a bomber pilot, hell of a leader, and I do miss his always perfect advise. Practically won the war against the TBH, too.

Kane... The scary Admiral Krieg. The Chancellor's right hand, commander of all the armed forces. Only man tough enough to shoot himself in the head and survive. Krieg will live a good long time, I hope. That spry old man could kill the Reaper himself.

Gronath... Amazing guy, good work, good leader. No poor traits that I could find. I do miss flying alongside Krieger. Krieger was one of the best characters I've ever seen portrayed in this game.

Johann Brunhild, Rheinland's one-man-faction. This man has more hours on his Rheinland characters than I have on all of mine combined, I think. Gotta respect that.

Zelot, Otto Gauss. This whole war with Liberty is your fault. You know that, right? Ah, well... If you do stay in the RM, do me a favor? Kick their asses hard. If they outrank you, do it anyway.

Lastly, I have Malexa Malte. From the very beginning I said to myself, "This man... Is amazing. He has Rheinland perfectly." And you know what? I think I was right. This one is my replacement. If you have a problem with that, I don't care. At this point in time he is the only one who is loyal enough to Rheinland, while being active, intelligent, thoughtful, and has the strange ability to somehow have more hours on his characters than Brunhild. I have promoted him to be my replacement, and I place great faith in his ability to roleplay a female Admiral...

Unfortunately, I cannot list everyone. There are just too many, but a few people do stick out in my mind: Pippart, Von Engel, Dieter Schprokets (what limbs?), and Krupinski.


With Malexa Malte being my replacement, I shall be saying that I will remain as Chancellor Reinhardt for at least a little while longer. I thoroughly enjoy that character and have a few loose ends to tie up, anyway. Depending on how it works, I may or may not keep him around. If I don't, I will certainly suggest that he not be retired or assassinated, but played by someone else in a manner as close as possible to my own.


Now that all that is said... I am not leaving Discovery or anything silly like that. I am simply reducing my responsibilities so I can be a nutter again and have some fun without having the RM nagging me in the back of my mind. I've run it long enough, I've earned that. I'll be focusing more an Admin stuff (hopefully <_<) so that Del and Hood will get less mad at me. Heh heh...

Its probably one of the hardest jobs to get around Discovery.

Now I am standing here, looking at a great and famous faction.

This faction dispalys Rheinland, it displays the hard work of Virus, Caylith, Gronath, Kane and and and....phew, there are so many people who kept the way clear of big rocks to stumble over.

If I manage to keep it only half of that way, I will do fine. Virus is one of the best faction leaders I know around and he is not replaceable.

They showed us where to go. They showed us the frame to roleplay in.
All other players formed it the way it is now.
A verry good place to roleplay in, a friendly place to be and a fun one of course.
It is not the easiest place to be, talking about the hard rules around here and talking about the usual "problems" present.
Though I think every house has the same problems to solve.

The point is the special way, Virus managed to solve these problems.
He knows how to be calm, direct, friendly and when to be a jerk to ensure the roleplay won't get harmed.

I just hope I watched him close enough to be a good [RM]-Watchdog for him*laughs*

It was Oct 14, 2008, when I sweated like hell, awaiting the answer of Virus and Gronath.
"Thank you for your time and interest in our faction."
That was the line I stared at.
Suddenly I found myself inside the ranks of the Rheinland Military.
A little recruit, a little (ingame)girl looking up the ladder.
I met Admiral Hiltraud, the first Admiral I have ever seen.

One day she taught me how to react and talk to traders, enemies and friends. Soon after that, she had to leave. I still miss her and I am happy if she pops up in Skype.

Since then I had a target locked. Work up the ladder, be part of this great faction and help wherever I can.
I worked my way up the lower ranks and maybe that was why I caught Admiral Krieger's(Gronath) attention.
He was also one of my greatest teachers on discovery.

Suddenly I found myself at the Officer ranks.
And where am I at now? Admiral. Admiral Malexa Malte.

I have the honor to stand next to Admiral Krieg, Admiral Krieger, Admiral Hiltraud and they will be still my mentors.

At this point I want to thank every player who crossed my way until today.
You are the reason why I am still here and will be in the future.
Lets keep Rheinland the place we love to be.

They should really have keys that make it so you know it's a joke, like maybe [j] or something, puts it in a particular font so it is understood as a joke.
