One way around it might be for us to stagger the fight. What would people say to different attack wings attempting 'hit and run' tactics as the enemy moves towards their objective?

This way all defending forces can participate, but the overall odds in each fight favour the attackers.

The defenders must attempt to wear down the enemy. I am thinking:

1) Ronin strike in the Sigmas.
2) Dragons strike in Honshu.
3) Main Guild squadron defends against remaining ships in Okinawa.

Ideally, the attackers would try to stay together and not pursue fleeing ships. This may not happen, but we could arrange for a few Outcasts or mercenaries to loiter on the fringes and pick off any ships that break away from the main pack.

Once a squadron flees, they are out of the fight - but are not considered 'losers', they have played there role in the event. The win or loss is determined by the overall outcome.

What do you think?

I like this idea; it's something similar to what I suggested earlier. My only concern is that there isn't much of Honshu for the Dragons to strike in, they'd pretty much have to be slap up agaisnt the jumpgate, with the sairs only trying to survive long enough to dock with it.

Be kinder than necessary, because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

It depends entirely on which route the attacking forces take.

There are three entry points from the Sigmas to Honshu, plus two ways into Okinawa.

If I were the attacking party I know what strategy I would employ (not telling;))

In a day or two, either ProwlerPC or myself can post the next event thread, then we can put up some plans.

My goal is to have a 'pool' of strategies available for both sides.

This will mean that both sides know roughly what to expect - but can still choose particular strategies from the pool - thus adding an element of surprise and strategic planning.

It also present both an opportunity and a challenge to the Hogosha.

The opportunity is that they dont have to have great numbers - the Corsairs can give them all the muscle they need.
The challenge is for the Hogosha to act in a leadership role - to understand and use the pool of strategic options to the best of their ability, and to maintain cohesion and discipline of the Corsairs.
