Captain's Log: Captain. Rico Startracker of the Shadow-Talon
Lost.... Day 1.
Well, being stuck out here sure is... different.
All I can really say is thank the stars that I got these new reinforced Hull Panels installed to protect me. Got em a couple of days ago, they cost me a small fortune too, ten million fresh credits. Well if the worst comes to the worst, Ill have to shut down nearly every system on this ship! Except life support of course *chuckle*. Well, whatever this stuff is, it sure is nasty. Black as pitch too, cant see anything out of the windows. Its only been seven hours, and it has already taken the shields down to 75% and they are still slowly dropping. Soon Ill have to break into the batteries. And after that, I guess its just me new hull plating. Well at least I have enough supplies to last me a week at least. Yes, yes I know the pilots manual says you should have at least one months worth of supplies, but I gotta make room for the cardi. I cant be havin the supplies mixing with the orange stuff anyway. Ok, systems check: Scanners are down, navigation is down, only one engine working
Doesnt seem to be looking like Ill get out of here any time soon. Oh well, got to get some sleep, need to stop worrying. Ill make it through, I always have.

Lost.... Day 2.
Sure is lonely out here, drifting, no-one to talk to. Well Ive gotta think positive. This heap of orange stuff in the hold will make me a nice bundle. This dark stuff could even turn to my advantage, itll keep those navy boys downed for a while. Well, if I get through that is. Wonder how those casts are getting on, on their planet of gold. Wouldnt want to get addicted though, the candy makes me money not loses it *laugh*
Ach, well better run a system diagnostic and see how the ol shadow is holding together.
Captain Rico, signing out.

Lost.... Day 3.
Oh how I long for good drink at the good old Buffalo Bar. Oh damn, I booked myself a room there for yesterday. Guess they didnt miss me *chuckle*. Well, just loss of 30 credits, not much of a dent in my neural net. Just used half of me batteries, shields back up at 100%, I suppose I better break open the bank again and invest in a new shield. After that it will be purely profit, with my ship fully outfitted with the latest tech and fully paid off. No more big expenses. Hmm, I wonder what me ol mate Paul is doing right now, probably sitting in his apartment at Rochester drinking some fine ale, not floating helpless like me. I have no idea where I am. Last time the scanners were functioning I was in Baffin, headin to Coronado, just as it hit. No warning whatsoever. Anyway, I have a letter to write. <As Rico starts to write his letter on his computer, a sudden loud bang is heard in the background>
What the.

Lost.... Day 4.
Phew, finally got that sorted
Ugh, Im so stupid, could have killed myself there. I forgot to connect the last few batteries. I had a major system failure when the shields were overloaded. Now this thing is barely holding together, so much for that hull plating. Good news though! *smiles* The communication and navigation systems came online for a few moments a while ago. That means that this is nearly over!
<Rico wanders around the small, stuffy room he called a bridge with a huge grin on his face>
I cant wait!
Anyway, enough logging, Im going to go and grab myself the last bottle of Liberty Ale from the store.
Captain Rico, signing out.

Lost.... Day 5.
Well it seems to be finally clearing. Now I can send out the nanobots to commence external repairs. There isnt much power left now, so Im diverting the remaining power to the engines. <Computer Keys are heard being tapped in the background>
I should be arriving at Buffalo in around five hours. If all goes well then I will still have a full cargo hold of the orange stuff.
Well, I have to go now and supervise the repairs
This is Captain Rico Startracker of the Shadow-Talon signing out.

Lost.... Day 5.
Right, so reality check time; I have no idea where I am, dark matter is gone, and Im picking up some very strange readings from the scanners
Still, the engines are fixed and at 100% and shielding is at maximum. If my suspicions are correct then those strange readings are Nomad ships. Ok so what do I know about Nomads. *Checks Computer* right
Uhh, classified data, where did I pick this up?
<ALARM SOUNDS>
Oh dear
Incoming nomads, I dont think I can hold them off, Ill have to flee.
Ok, entering cruise speed. Done. Oh no, no, no.
<A bolt of flashing blue energy erupts from the lead nomad ship, heading straight for the Shadow-Talons engines>
Gotta pull her about!
<Rico grabs the controls and wrenches them to the left, the missile from the Nomad ship explodes, inches from the Shadow-Talons engines>
BOOYA!!
Wow, and to think I recorded all that on my captains log *laugh*
Hey look, a jump hole directly ahead. And these Nomads are still after me. If I set a course straight into the centre of it from here I might just make it.
<Rico steers the Shadow-Talon directly towards the hole.>
Hey, what the
That jump hole its, its getting smaller.
Oh no. I have to make it
<The Shadow-Talon shoots towards the rapidly disappearing Jump hole with the Nomads hot on its tail.>
Oh no! Im not gonna make it!
<Reluctantly, even though his life was at risk, Ricos finger hovered over the Jettison button.>
Ok, Ive left it late enough already. Goodbye 10 million credits.
<Rico presses the Jettison button and the doors of the cargo hold slowly open. Dumping the drugs he was carrying directly into the path of the oncoming Nomads. The Shadow-Talon, now free from its burden, sped quickly into the jump hole just as it disappeared from sight.>
Ok. Navigation check. Oh my god. *Grins* Im back in Baffin! Im Safe.
Setting course for the Coronado Jump Hole! Finally, back home.
Captain Rico Startracker, survivor of Nomads and Dark Matter, smuggler supreme, immortal hero, signing off.
<Rico smiles as he turns off the Captains Log and sits back in his chair and sips his Coffee which, against all odds, didnt spill during the whole ordeal>
