You werent at base of operations and you easily outgunned him so why the running?
Full hold of captured Kusari pilots and material. I wished to return them to Leeds.
Edit: Besides that, there is no real point in a battleship taking on a bomber or fighter.

Why Ant? I've taken on and beaten bombers in cruiser, much less firepower and brute force than the battleship. I think what you meant to say was that you were too cowardly to take him on in a BS.

Are we talking shield running here, or just running and not engaging again.

Hype

It is shield running, not retreating. I have no problems with retreating. The fact is, numerous SF, and Ant in particular, have been using shield running in almost every engagement. You can read just from battle reports that everytime the Exeter's BATTLESHIP SHIELD goes down, he high-tails it out of there. The shield goes to 75% and he returns to the fight. Everytime I've ever seen him fight its the same way.

A cruiser has thrusters and can maneuver. Sure I might be able to take out a fighter or bomber in a battleship if it keeps attacking me and has an average pilot but there is no real point to it.
All it has to do is thrust away a bit, shields recharge and it can come back for another go. Waste of time.

Just because you shield run at every opportunity, doesn't mean more honorable players will. And if my guess at the bomber's identity is correct, then I know he wouldn't have ran away like that.

Hype
I was trying to avoid all engagement. Wasn't attacked until a tradelane got messed up.
Then I just kept heading towards Leeds planet shooting backwards until someone rammed me.
I went to cruise and headed towards Planet Leeds, got rammed again and docked.

Edit: And btw Dab, I have no interest in fighting any fighter or bomber at all while in a capship. It takes to long and is to frustrating. Any capship wants to engage, fine, no problem.

Uhm.. Guys.. why are we still debating this?

This is turning too much into a "he said, she said" situation. Neither side can prove jack, or has bothered to try.

Alright, that doesn't quite piss me off as much as the fact that when your backup arrived, and your shield was lost to Phantoms, you SHIELD RAN. Whats your excuse to that? I didn't want to die? If you run from an engagement at cruise, you STAY OUT of that engagement, until/unless someone goes after you and attacks.

Ant, EVERY engagement you and me had, regardless of ship class, faction or whatever else, you shieldran, recharged, came back, shieldran, recharged,... do I need to continue repeating, I'm sure it sounds like a broken record? How frustrating is that?

And the 'I'm leaving the server' threat... it's a pathetic excuse for a cop-out. I detest dishonorable people and tactics, I detest even more the people who threaten to 'leave the server' if something is not by their will.

If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov
The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
