Okay, I'm at level 48 with my Junker, I'm pretty sure I've landed on every single Junker base that exists, and I still have empty hardpoints on my CSV!! What (or who?) do I have to do to get good weapons? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the RP of this server, but I thought I'm supposed to make sure I keep my in-game rep as close as possible to the true RP of my faction, so taking bribes at non-Junker bases in order to purchase the "good" weapons is out of the question. And that leaves me with the Junker Guard, of whom I am still not rep-friendly with. I've been to every base in Puerto Rico SEVERAL times and never once have I been offered a bribe for the Junker Guard.
What am I doing wrong? I want to stay in-RP, and I enjoy being a Junker, but I'm starting to learn that I make barely any money at all dealing in scrap metal, and the only reason I have a class 10 weapon is that I was lucky enough to be perched right next to a CODENAME-carrying shipwreck during a server reboot, so once it came back up I looted it.
Sorry, I didn't mean to mention the scrap metal thing in this thread, but it came out, and I choose not to hit backspace. Yes, it is definitely an issue that the maximum amount of money I can make on scrap metal is $500 per unit... but I'll keep smuggling/trading in non-Junker goods in the meantime until that changes. For now, I really want to know what is it going to take to get some reasonably good weapons, and specifically turrets?
Anyone care to throw me a bone? Free junk-removal to anyone who can help.;)
Unfortunately I am as green as green can be with the regular Junkers, so there's no hoping for another Junker bribe... it really makes no sense to me that the Junker Guard doesn't START OFF green, but that's for another thread altogether.
I guess I could take Junker Guard missions. I can only hope that THAT doesn't mess up my rep like taking regular Junker missions did (it caused me to go red witht he Bounty Hunters, which I haven't entirely recovered from yet).
As far as getting the good weaps from other factions--- wouldn't that mean taking bribes and/or doing missions for said factions? Because it seems to me that no matter WHICH faction's base I land on, all the good weaps are grayed out, and tell me "you must be on friendlier terms to purchase this."
So, maybe a better question would be this: how many factions are everyone green with? If you are an Outcast, are you only green with Outcasts? Am I limiting myself bigtime by keeping all non-Junkers in the white? Maybe I don't kill enough? I rarely ever kill unless I have to. I try to roleplay a peaceful Junker, but even pacifists need to protect themselves from the evil ones!

Dude....just...no...
1. Dont talk about bad BHG, visit omicron theta for one day and youll see the real BHG.
2. Junkers are barely lawful, im suprised the police let them pass. By associating with them you either have to be on the edge or an unlawful.
3. Do Junkers missions, youll eventually get your Junkers guard rep up.
4. It starts low because when your friendly with Junkers Guard it will prove your loyalty to the junkers.
The Junkers do have their own guns. This is what you want:
Quote:"Barrager" Photon Cannon Mk V
This is a photon-based weapon which, though providing a high refire rate, requires enormous amounts of energy to deliver a significant damage output. This weapon is most effective against positron shields, and weakest against graviton shields. Barrager Mk V is the best Photon Cannon the Junkers have to offer.
Look at Bornholm or Arecibo, they're there.
They may not be the best guns in the game (though I dunno about that, I'm no balance dev. Maybe they are the best.) but they sure do keep you in roleplay.
You can use civilian weapons as well though, I think, meaning the Flashpoint and Debilitator series.
(also, guards are meant to be hostile - they wouldn't guard their systems against intruders otherwise)
Edit:

Masternerdguy: yes that helps some, thank you. I'm not sure what you mean, though, about bad BHG as opposed to the ones in O-theta? [edit: thank you, sleipnir, for clarifying for me!] Maybe I wasn't being clear, but I'd rather NOT be in the red with Bounty Hunters. I ended up that way from doing Junker missions. I guess this time I'll have to be more discriminate about which Junker missions I take. I only want to do missions against my actual enemies, not my quasi-enemies. That means killing Hogosha and Xenos, if I'm not mistaken.
But it was helpful thank you. I just want to get the most out of Discovery FL, and I can't help but get the feeling I'm missing out on some good stuff. Whether it be weapons, hidden systems, or just general roleplay...

If you've messed up BHG standing, you can easily repair it and get junkers by killing Xenos, thats a good idea.

It'd be the best to play several characters then. Adds some diversity and spice to the game when you know both sides of the medal.
You don't have to go overboard for that though - the account limit of five characters already offers a universe of possibilities (wait, wasn't that the Freelancer tagline?:P)
