Yay or Nay?

I made a post earlier about a possible RP of a character that pretty much tours Sirius as a kind of Temple/preacher type RP

i chose not to use any example of existing religeons, i made my own, not very much a beleif in a higher being , it's more of a way of thinkng, it's beleif that they univers is in a balance, ive's made a few adjustments frome the base post:

i wanted to add a bit of 'Shunn' or shatever, so part of the beleif is that being human is Sacred, and anyhting that tries to change it such as Cardi (changes genes) nomads , Phantoms (from what ive rean in RP they tend to do a bit of modifications on theyre bodies, or i mis-interpreted that open RP with the Phantom getting a Bhargest for a bag of organs, didn't he have a tail?) and such other things like replacing body parts with machines , i thought that this would be only offensive to the characters, as i don't think anyone here has a tail or a mechannic eyeball.

As for the ship, i was thinking Kusari cruize liner, not only the colours and the sculpture make it look 'cathedraly' but it also looks awesome by itself.

Nay, I would prefer to see a more interesting Church.

All you will do is preach.

Nothing..will happen.
Interaction with others will only be preaching and once you join you can..preach some more!

I'd suggest something with a bit more interaction with other players, not including preaching.

In general I like the idea of a religious sekt, but the oracles are much better incorporated into the FL universe than this. Not many people will go along with religious role play, better to concentrate the few that will into the oracles. Where are the oracles?

I've actually had an idea for a church, but there'd have to be a good deal of background RP and screening of prospective members before going ahead. Also, it'd be wholly offensive to most people here.

Sirius Holy Church of the Crusader

The motif would be old-style Catholic. Half Crusades, half Spanish Inquisition.

Roving packs of 'Paladins' would deal out rhetoric and mangled psalms while dispensing the will of the Almighty on sinners. Individuals saved by His work would be asked politely to administer a tithe. Captured 'sinners' (likely NPCs unless someone is willing to risk a character like this) would be put to the torch on a weekly pirate broadcast, with charges read and a sizeable donation to the Church asked for, akin to a telethon.

If the donation is not met, the individual goes free.
If the goal is met... it gets nasty, on public broadcast.



That's the basic premise, really. In practice it could be roleplayed to the hilt and would still be painted as an excuse to pvpwhore.

I don't like the idea of the name "Last Church of Sirius" because I doubt it will be the last religion... religions come and go like fads. It's kinda like naming a game Final Fantasy and then having 13 sequels.
