zapp asked for a model of the tundra - along with adjustments to its stats...
here is what i got so far...
the ship is still mostly a lib cruiser ( completely rebuilt, cause i couldn t use the original model ) - there are tubes and "flesh" parts all around the ship. - the skin will include flesh patches and breaches. - but it will only show few "flesh" parts compared to its whole size. - much of the nomad parts are an intraskeleton that is not yet engulfed in flesh and the tubes.
the forward cannon is replaced by a more organic version ( but the liberty cannon is supposed to stay ) - the engine / reactor section of the original cruiser is mostly crippled - and is gonne be driven by a nomad drive ( means - it won t show the liberty impulse engine effect - but the light blue/white smokes of a nomad drive )
if someone has constructive ideas how an infested cruiser should rather look like ( unless they are totally difficult ideas ) - i m up for feedback. - however, the model is made in metaseq - and i m not really sure i can apply the original "nomad" texture to it, cause nomad ships are autodesk models and not .cmp.
right now - zapp asked for a change to a battlecruiser type. - i m not really in favour of that too much - but with certain restrictions and limitations to its abilities it can be done. - after all, this ship is SMALL and has a terribly efficient forward gun ( a feature that no other battlecruiser shares ) - with a 3.6 million powerplant, the ship could practicly spam all turrets + the gun all day long.
*edit: i can put "flesh" onto the skeleton - but since i cannot apply the same textures... i d have to go with substitute blue skins - which only look fine from afar, - but from close up... they d look alien to the nomad skins. - so if possible - no fleshy parts.
That looks like more of a bug, then a Nomad, really...
To be honest...right now considering the amount of damage the Tundra takes from hostiles, the nomad parts would start salvaging the debre around them. There is no real reason to use a def sege cruiser model with some added nommie parts...it should have a junker feel to it by now, parts of all kinds of ships sued to patch up the exposed parts of the nomad side of the ship.
then tell me - what can be done so it looks more nomad infested like - thats why its posted atm... cause i m not sure how to proceed with the idea of an infested ship.
edit: - you mean ... totally abandon the lib cruiser design?

Yes..why not, there is no real harm in changing it more. Think about it, if the nomad uses the ship as a shield...would there be any nomad pars exposed? Its like a crab having its skeleton on the inside.
Cover the spines in tentacles. Thin ones, not round ones, but, thin ones.
They just look like..the nomad skeletal structures.
Abandoning the Lib cruiser is to far, I think The nomad wouldn't -need- to use it for a sheild, either, as, you know, nomads are already pretty durable. At least as durable as human ships.
but if a whole ship is sort of "devoured" by the nomad organism - wouldn t it be just turn into a regular nomad cruiser? - i mean - thats the point of an infested ship sort of - that you got something of both worlds - however unlogical it may be after all.
*@unselie: you mean like a thin "membrane" - like a tightly fit skin - or as if they re covered in a layer of blue glass?
in general - when it is covered with a glowing "skin" - i d make the skeleton a lot more eerie - translucent and not solid - maybe a 50% transparency.

Indeed, looks like a starving nomad by now.
But really, add some pannels, misplaced and sticked on unprofessionally, maybe something from rheinlanders and zoner ships salvaged in Iota, as well as from order and BHG..
hmmm
may I suggest adding more of a look of a flying derilect or ghost ship, maybe add some corosion to the remaining liberty components, maybe take a chunk out of one of the main gun's firing rings for the look of damage
"salvaged" parts can be added by the use of different "armour plates as textures" in certain areas. - but i wouldn t like to add real "parts" of those ships... - like a juggernauts engine, a BHG bridge and a rheinland cruiser hangar.
*edit: and such derelict skins would be added anyway - although ... are there still "humans" aboard the ship? if there are... flying around with huge holes in the hull might be a bit silly, even when you re infected. - after all... the wild ( which are THE infected ones ) don t fly in junk ships either.
