Until recent developments, I have been a fighter pilot witht the Colonial Remnants. After some disciplinary problems, it became necessary for me to leave th CR. Hello, this is Raul Ogawa, although most call me Kusoyaro. I come from the Kusari space originally, though my father was a former Corsair, but he had to escape from them, because a pirate falling in love with a Kusari trader was not allowed.
I, myself havent had much luck in life. I have tried my luck in trading many times, but apparently pirates love easy targets without escort. I even once considered a pirate career myself, but apparently the Corsairs havent forgotten about my father yet, and they know he has a son.
Why i chose to join the IMG. I heard from many sources that the IMG offers the best jobs, especially for the aspiring young traders like myself, who would love to learn the knicks of the trade.
I can only offer you my loyalty and un-dying gratitude, if you choose to hire me as one of the hardiest traders/miners of the galaxy.
Keanu Lener sat down with a drink at the bar, sighing and laying back. He just finished up a trading run, and it was an exhausting and alarming one to say the least. He was assaulted by several pirates and was lucky that a mercenary was around to help him. His ship got almost blown up. Still, the profits were good and so was the feeling you get when you see the credits flow in to your account in your PDA.
"Now now, Mr.Lener, I thought you were an honest trader?" said a man coming up to the table and sitting down.
Keanu looked up. He recognized the man as the mercenary who helped him fight off the pirates. Probably trying to get credits off him for his help. God I hate mercenaries
"Is there something you would like.? Mr..."
"Call me Hack. And I would like to be paid for my help. Isn't it obvious?" answered the mercenary.
Now, if he was in the mood Keanu would challenge the mercenary. Maybe even start a bar fight, leave him without some teeth. He wasn't in the mood for making enemies right now, so Keanu shrugged and took out his PDA. He entered some numbers through his account as credits flowed out from his account ot the mercenaries.
"That should cover it." said Keanu calmly taking a sip of his drink.
"Good good..." said Hack smiling.
"Now, I won't be disturbing you. Hate these bars anway." Hack got up and went for the exit to the hangar, but stopped and turned around.
"You know... Not that I care or anything. You just seem a good, honest, straight forward guy. The Independent Miners Guild is recruiting."
Keanu looked back at Hack, interested now.
"Oh?"
" They could give you protection, uprade your ship... Many benefits to reap. I'll send you a form over and the comm address to send it to. Just that I had to escort some IMG ships yesterday, and they said they'll put me in for some credits if I advertised and got someone to join. Make sure to tell them it was me who told you about this" Hack laughed a bit and then went for the exit again.

Hello, my name is Ertran Rogozinski. Some time ago, i tried to find some peace in life, so I taked my savings, bought Minnig Ship and started work as an independent asteroid miner. Fine job, but soon troubles had started... fields that belong to corpoprations, pirates, etc. etc., I think You know those things well. In the end, I started to mining on fields protected by IMG, and got tied with Guild. Now things are getting worse for all of us, and I don't like to sit and wait quietly. Nickolas Hargreaves walked through the long corridors of South Shields Refinery, stopping at a plain-looking wooden door, locked by an old Earth-era deadbolt lock.
“My my..” Hargreaves muttered, looking for any signs that someone else had passed by here at any reasonable time.
His comment was not about the age and style of the lock, or how much the door would have cost the guild, considering wood as a building material was rare and expensive. Instead it was towards the several application forms stuffed haphazardly underneath it, despite a sign reading ‘Recruitment Temporarily Closed’.
Well, I guess there’s no use just leaving them there.. Hargreaves thought to himself, and began to search through the set of keys the station master gave him. After finding the corresponding key for the recruitment office door (which also happened to be the oldest in the set) and picking up the mass of papers, he let himself inside.
Thankfully, the room was a lot more modern than the door implied, sporting a synth-leather chair and grey carbon table, fitted with comm unit, terminal and holodisplay. Hargreaves sat himself down and began to reply to the ageing application forms:

It is heartening to know that your family has been mining for the IMG previously. However from what you seem to be implying in your application is that you took a different career path until recently when your father passed away (my sincere condolences for your loss). What were you doing for a crust previously might I ask, and why have you chosen to change careers towards mining, other than the procurement of your ship, and could experiences from your previous trade/profession be of use to the guild in other departments? That is, if you are willing to take a position in any department and not just mining.

When I heard IMG was recruiting I dropped all my other applications,
I already got the experience of mining in convoys, so a long introduction
won't be necessary, if you allow me in your ranks that is.
More about myself, ever since I had my first Starflier I went looking for an
excellent nebula or asteroid-field to fill my cargo with gold, niobium or other
rich metals. Not very long ago I literally flew into a miner's ship, to repay the
man I started working for him. He taught me where and how I should mine and
so I slowly became a miner. The only downside was that he didn't pay me that good,
so after I repayed him for the damage on his ship, I decided to go home and work on
solid ground, at a bank office.
But the itch to fly in space, the freedom of a pilot, returned and now I'm asking
IMG to let me join the ranks as one of their pilots.

I am both surprised you were not hurt after such a freak accident and glad that the event ignited the fire inside you for mining. It is very hard nowadays to find someone with previous mining convoy experience and you having that experience is a very valuable asset. I assume from your application that you do not currently own a ship or at least one suitable to mining? If so that is of no matter. The IMG mining division has always had a credit loan scheme for persons with financial difficulties, offering enough to procure your own mining ship complete with ID beacon and mining equipment. If you are in need of such a scheme just say so and the guild will make the necessary arrangements to help you get into space.
I guess what I am trying to say is.. Welcome to the Guild! That is, if you accept. I understand that after such a long time your wishes and circumstances may have changed, so if you are still interested or perhaps seeking a different position in either defence, exploration or trade, just send a transmission back on this frequency saying so.

I am sad to hear that your parents were killed in such a despicable act in open space. There are many among us that have had similar pasts like losing family and loved ones to terrorists, pirates and easily avoidable corporate accidents. If those pirates that took your parents’ lives were Outcasts, then we share a common hatred. If Corsairs.. Well, we try to keep a “don’t bother us and we won’t bother you” mentality, though at times they can be just as bad.
I feel inclined to allow you into the IMG considering your circumstances, however you do not seem to have chosen a desired division to join in your application. We still have limited openings in our trade division so you can follow your teenage dreams. Or, if the pirates were Outcast (or Corsair, you never know if they might stop an IMG convoy) you can dish back some revenge in our defence division. The choice is up to you.
I understand that this responding transmission is sent a lot later than your application submission, and after such a long time your wishes in joining the IMG may have changed. Greetings Mr. Coulibali. I apologise for the late reply – fortunately you are not one of the longest waiting applicants, though we do prefer to try and respond to potential recruits within the space of a week..
Your application has been filled out well and down to the letter, though I have concerns with why the Colonial Remnant, a group we have helped nurture under our wing until recently, would let go of a pilot and his whole family. From what I have heard this is much unlike them, though they have been known to house a set of stern rules. I understand this may strike a raw nerve, but would you like to elaborate on what “disciplinary problems” were encountered? We tend to be a little bit more relaxed, though depending on the of problems experienced we may like to guide or train you further, perhaps to the point where you may consider rejoining the CR once again.
One thing that we do differently to the CR is that we don’t have or assign callsigns, and should you be accepted into the guild upper management would most likely request the modification of your ship transmitters to show your names rather than callsigns.
Secondly, as defence director I can say undoubtedly that regular members are not permitted to pilot capital ships, no matter how experienced those person may be in those particular crafts. Unfortunately that means that the gunboat Bujumbura captained by Archilles Coulibali will not be accepted, though he can still stay as an independent affiliate.
If you still wish to be brought under our wing knowing these conditions, please send back a replying transmission on this frequency saying so and I shall pass the relevant information to the trade and mining directors for them and I to consider.

It is very unfortunate that you have been having some troubles with pirates and larger companies during your previous expeditions and yes, now is a time more than ever that we must stand together united, with the Outcast in the north, an interhouse war spilling over from the east and south, and now a new lot from the west with unclear intentions.. Things are, like they always have been for us miners, on a knife edge.
Your previous experience as a mercenary is very much of value to us, and I am inclined to place you in the defence department due to our current staffing shortages. However you also say you already have a mining ship, is this correct? If this is so you may prefer to be in mining…
If you would be able to get back to us on this frequency stating which division you would like to be under that would be much appreciated. Also, I would like to know what you understand the purposes of the Independent Miners Guild to be. Although it is a field in the application process, we are a bit flexible and don’t always require it, though I’m just a little curious personally in this particular case. If you don’t feel like obliging me that is fine, and it shouldn’t affect your application in any way. Once you have stated which division you prefer to work under I shall send it to the relevant authorities for final review.

Anyway, since the war had started between Liberty and Rheinland, Universal's profit started decreasing, and it had the highest effect on the security department, since most of the convoys had started to go much more often to bretonia, our allies. Universal didnt need many escorts in these parts of Sirus.
Soon after the war had started my pay had decreased significantly, it was so low I actually argued with the finance department asking them why I was even being paid! Since the corporation had decreased the escorts in our convoys, thinking that the bretonian government was ''enough'' to protect them. They were dead wrong, our convoys started getting ripped apart, or pirated of their cargo easily without their proper escorts which had vanished. The higher ups started blaming the security department, giving reasons that we were the ones not assigning escorts to their duties, how the hell can we assign ships that we dont have !? Since it was ''our fault'' the company started to cut payments rapidly of everyone working in the security department and giving out penalties, I lost 5 months of pay in a day because of them. I had enough of it, I went directly to the CEO's office, punched him in the face telling him that I QUIT!
After a few days of wandering around for a job, but the economy crisis had hit everyonw, all because of that damned war, from my friends I heard that un-employed, or fired workers from several places ad signed up for the Independant Miners Guild, and actually getting a job! At first i didnt believe it, but when I looked at the sign-up attachments, it was all I ever wanted! So i'm here now, at your ''doorstep''. I have understood that the IMG cares for its employees, works and defends, everyone protecting and backing everyone else in the guild. Thats a reason enough to keep attracting people to the IMG, so did it me.
What I can offer to the IMG ? My loyalty, my forever determination for independance, and... my fighting skills, I wasn't a Sub Escort Chief for nothing, I can shred pirates to pieces, anytime, anywhere. Since i had graduated from the Manhattan Deep Space Research Institution as the top student, I could help alot in the development of anything related to deep space, or even weapon systems. But still, i'd rather explor then be cooped up somewhere. So I request to be a part of your Guild. I would like to start in the Exploring Division, of course, if you have any room for me.
