Which is why I'm sick of it being used at me. It doesn't -really- work.

But it does feel right for your less good ship to cost hundreds of millions?
(frankly, spending 60 million on a fighter...is a waste of cash. Codes, and I sell them, are not something I'm willing to use, at the prices I sell them for. You got ripped off. If you spend more than 30 million on your fighter, you're wasting your money, for no real added bonus. That said, an optimilized fighter should cost just around 25 million. 15 for the armour, 4 for the mini, 3 for the ship, and 2 million for the guns. If you use a CD, then you've an extra 4 million to pass into it.

I sold my Shire for a Pirate Transport.
Container Transports are ridiculously powerful.

I'm not talking about them in any case.
This is about LINERS and the fact that their need faster and better turrets.
Not those infamous Shires.

In my opinion, it's a good thing for a Fighter to use codes when its primary targets are gonna be capital ships. I'll spent on my fighter as much as I want.

But aside from that, have you looked at this from other angles?

What about Police factions in their tiny ships? Currently it is possible for them to stop and take on a smuggler(and that kind of stuff) if there's 3 or at least 2 of them?

But how are they going to deal with these proposed beefed-up cruiser turret-equipped Transports in their tiny Light Fighters?

Again why?

If you really want to make something better, why not just add on more transport turrets? But Liner is the last thing that requires a buff if you ask me.

The thing is, the current liner is a shire -1 turret and an added CM(with a bit less armour). It's still a VHF killing machine, it wont take on a bomber, but it can actually RUN AWAY from people.
Not to mention, i linked a percheron dealing some damage to an eagle, prooving that even a non liner transport, is still very powerful, and can take on a fighter/2.

EDIT: And before i get countered with another SHIRES ARE NOT LINERS thing, which i will. They are proposing for the liner to be more powerful than the shire here, not just a small buff, but a rather big one(a poor mans cruiser? seriously?)

The liners are the size of battleships.
Their turrets are slower than those of a gunboat.

The speed in relation to their size is such that hitting anyone is difficult, just because the projectiles are too slow when compared with the distance the turrets are apart, the size of the liner, et cetera/.

I've accepted that this mod is balanced by bomberwhores and Gunboat whores. I've accepted that some transports are going to be royally buttraped. However, I payed 1.1 billion credits for a ship that has issues taking down a Gunboat (and worse, a Pirate Transport, whose guns have the same range I do, a much higher accuracy rating thanks to the fact that they're clustered three times as closely, and is smaller than some gunboats), and gets destroyed by single bombers because it can't hold a bead on them and they have a Supernova. This ship cost more than some Battleships, and it's dieing to what? I make seven million credits in the one truly IRP run I can do (though the ship is RPed so that it can smuggle, too), and that loop takes half an hour, IF I don't get pirated, which I do unless I don't take the tradelanes, which lowers my efficiency even more, and the initial investment was HOW much?

I see where you're going with this, but there are bigger transport ships(might be off on the size comparison, but it's definetly taller...), that are much clumsier. But you don't see me complaining about it (COUGH COUGH), the rear turrets barely go 300m due to the ship distance. Infact, half the time i can only fire FIVE of them(however, they are clustered close together-ish), yet there aren't issues with taking down bombers; The thing is, increasing the distance might be fine, but a special turret type does not fit, what, 1100ms speed not fast enough for you? that's cruiser turret speed. In truth, i didn't mind the turret idea much, what bothered me is the line Poor Mans Cruiser, buffing it up to something that it would take a fair few bombers to pirate, makes no sense, it would make pirating worthless and a rare sight.

And as i said, you already have the turret speed, range is a bit lacking, but unlike any transport, if a bomber goes out to 2k to comfortably bomb you with supernovas, you can cruise away due to a CM, in order to hit you with anything other than a supernova, he needs to be in your gunrange... meaning you can blast him.

Again, I don't own a transport bigger than a L'ane or Pirate Transport.
No liners for me.

And yes, that's cruiser turret speed. The Cruiser Primary turrets, at least. Those are made to serve as weapons against smaller capital ships or other capital ships, as they're slower and dish out quite a bit of damage. They're not so much anti-fighter as the Solaris Cruiser Turret is - that's a good deal faster (1800, I think). It's definitely designed for defense against fighters, which is what we're talking about here in regards to liners.

Liner turrets I envision as a bit slower, with much more range, given the size of their bodies.

Make it 1800, and it'll insta hit, making it too powerful. The current 4 turrets already give you an ample choice; Making something go at solaris speed, means liners will become a point and click affair(yes, i know you werent aiming for that, but the turret speeds are already fairly high)

First of all 1.5 mil is nothing to a trader, jack it up a LOT, 4mil? Maybe higher, if they want good defense, they should pay for it, after all, IRP you are paying to protect the most valuable cargo ever, and should be willing to spend on it
220 Hull, 110 Shield. 1400 Speed. 3.3 Refire 2000 range 4x power usage. More powerful than a type 4, more speed, more range, hull maybe 250, shield maybe 150, but anything above that would make it a total rapeturret.

For comparison(Type 4): 211 Hull, 106 shield. 1000 speed. 3.3 Refire 1100 Range.
