It's easier to ignore lolwutting fighters or even bombers.
But in bigger ships, sometimes you can't ignore them. They stick out horrendously, and can kill you easily.
well to add to that, it makes sence to have 5 times as many fighters and cruisers, but it does not make sence to have 5 times as many cruisers as fighters.
Maybe I am just in a good time zone with a good zoi. We get the RNC but they can be "handled."
*hops in RHC/waran and ends capspam in rheinland*
In the time I have been here I have only been ganked in a LF by a bs once and it was a pretty good friend. Maybe things are different in Order land. I tend to avoid that region.
The part I meant by "you can't stop it" is the people will simply just buy the ship. If it is there to buy and the credits are in hand, they will get it. You have to have a way to ACTUALLY lock the ship down, and that takes admin intervention. It makes more work for the players who don't effect you by them posting the request and the "CMs" will just ignore you completely and have their cap, even if they have to speed dock with you hard on their tail shouting profanity to do it.

Just a recap of these threads till now.
Lead by example and maybe the situation will improve.
I agree. Some of the propositions put forth leave me in disbelief.
I don't think I'm going to make much of a comment here regarding the caps themselves. I will however address the issue at the root of this whole argument,.
There are two things people need to do here, which many people don't bother with.
1. Roleplaying.
It's the thing this whole place exists for. Sure, we all love a damned good fight, but we choose to give it context and meaning by adding the RP element. If people don't wish to RP then they can go away. These people don't deserve any ships at all, let alone caps.
2. Respecting each other's gameplay.
This is something which, while not mandatory, should be done by any considerate player. It's not something you can enshrine in the rules, and is so vague that people can't really agree on what it is. The basis of the idea is not annoying people or making their time un-fun. There are several ways you can annoy people.
One is using overwhelming force, you all know my thoughts on this.
One is not roleplaying, you can see my thoughts on that above.
Another is using large and visable ships with little to no roleplay. That covers both. Thats the thing that annoys me more than anything else. My firm beleif is, that isf people are going to overkill people with no RP in very visable ships, then they shouldn't be on the server.
-That- is the problem. I couldn't give a damn if the person doing it is a well respected faction member, or some new guy with an Order LC. Faction/indy crap matters not to me, it's people being idiots I care about and get5 annoyed by, no matter who they are. It's people who have no wish to RP and no recognition of the effect of their actions on others, or simply not caring, that should be restricted.
EDIT: I can teach and require that the people flying in the factions I run behave in a way I regard as acceptable, however I can't do that with people who don't fall into nay of those groups. There needs to be some greater accountability for everyone, preferably without adding more red tape and rules and laws than we already have.
I suppose people's conscience should be enough, but with the behaviour of a lot of folks around here it seems that isn't the case. People using their large ships, or large numbers, or large mouthes to annoy others drives people to doing desperate things in order to salvage some shred of enjoyment form the game.
Simply put, I'm asking everyone to ACTUALY look at the effect their actions in game and on the forums have on each other. Doing this would probably cut down on things which get 'spammed' like caps, or missiles, or numbers, or whinging.

Sadly true and something I've said a lot of time before. It's a hell of a lot easier to not notice a lolwutting liberator than a lolwutting Lib Carrier, just due to sheer size.
