I'd like to remind you all that using multiple accounts at the same by the same player, aka "Multiboxing", is now Illegal.
Please, DON'T do it. I do hate having to ban people just because they try to get a few more bucks faster. Remember that by doing it, you are denying other people their right to play the game.
I just have one question for the admin or any other player that can answer me.
I have a wireless network at home with 2 towers (1 mine and 1 of my wife) and 1 laptop with freelancer on them, also from time to time a friend of mine "leaches" my connection, when he's over our house to play freelancer on he's laptop with me and my wife.
So as you can see I can have till 4 freelancer different accounts on at the same time and all of this with the same outgoing IP.
Is this going to be considered cheating and we're all gona be banned or the admin have a way to "see" how many computers/laptops are connected?

No this is not considered cheating.
No you won't be banned (or if it happens you'll be unbanned as quickly as possible).

I can speculate as to how this is detected, but what is really preventing someone taking a laptop to their computer desk and running two that way? Without any large form of player interaction on both parts at the same time, it's difficult to tell.

Its true, how would you tell that apart? For example, a couple of times on a rainy day, my friend would come over and we'd trade, and we'd just talk and hang out, we might have missed a couple of RPs along the way. That could be considered dual boxing.. how would you tell that apart?
Kind of a bump here, sorry for double post, but I'd like the above question to be answered. I don't want to get banned the next time my friend comes over.
I'll be honest, i dont think this will be worth tracking. If you multibox during rush hour, you'll get killed in no time again and again, if you have 2 traders and you're multiboxing, you'll be feeding the pirates double. The only time i can see this being worthy doing is "powertrading" at night but then there are not many people so you are not taking a spot away from people.
My opinion is that multiboxing is unfair , but i judge multiboxing a nerd who has in front of him 3 laptops an he plays all of them.
The biggest multibox i've ever seen was on Proctyon server , and i was amazed that the population increased to a breath-taking world record of ... 11 players.Explanaion was that a guy was playing on 5 accounts at once , 4 Dromedaries and a Sabre - Powertrading like no other.
About the idling thingy , i usually select the nearest dockable base to me and hit f2.As i am always bothered by my mum with silly stuff like "bring me that" , "do this" and "do that" means i'm close to my pc and i can get to it anytime so when in the dock range , i hit f3 and wait to get kicked out , or when i am trading i usually just move along tradelanes , at each passing , i dock another trade lane , but everytime , I - And i advise that everybody should do the same - Always press "Y" and look up on chat for bumps.
